A year and a half later, nada. I can't believe this can't come to fruition.

The trailer looked great! I hope it airs on a cable channel more accessible than HBO, like the channels available in the medium cable/satellite tv levels. thumbsup.gif

Mixed feelings here but definitely a coup for our esteemed Dr. C who will be a bigger name than ever before. Can't wait to see how this turns out and pray it is not too compromised in the branding/commercialization. Just think about how our Dr. C started way back in the late 1960s when I was just a young'un. From that first manuscript banged out on a typewriter on a card table Dr. C has made a name and given all of us joy in reading his great books. And now with two movies under his belt, a TV Series is coming to our home screens. Here is a toast to one of the best masters of fiction!!!! beersmilie.gif

You the man, Tony! You've unravelled the web surrounding the Oregon Files tv series.

Better than that, you've given us hope! You should run for World President!

  LOGLINE:
Juan Cabrillo takes to the seas after the bad guys in his amazing ship the "Oregon". With a crew of X-CIA and special ops warriors his corporation becomes an unbeatable extension to our government as well as others to make sure that the world stays safe. In association with Mix Entertainment Holdings, 5 Pictures Entertainment has an opportunity to invest in an international $42M Action Adventure Television series, written by an internationally acclaimed bestselling author.
As a result of Bovill's association with Mix Entertainment Holdings, 5 Pictures Entertainment has a unique opportunity to invest in an international $42M Action Adventure Television series, written by an internationally acclaimed bestselling author.

OREGON PRODUCTION, LLC ("Oregon Production") is a Delaware limited liability company, registered as a California foreign limited liability company. It was formed to serve as the corporate umbrella for the production of the television series The Oregon Files for parent company, Mix Entertainment Holdings, LLC. Mix Entertainment Holdings, LLC ("Mix") is setting a new bar for the high quality television product rivaling major motion pictures. Mix believes it is uniquely qualified to accomplish this because our members and vendors have created and produced award winning film and television content in the national and international marketplace. The Oregon Production partners and the Mix executive team have established a solid working relationship with Clive Cussler, the author of The Oregon Files, based on a common vision for this action adventure series and for their industry track record. Bovill's part ownership of Mix has resulted in 5 Pictures Entertainment's strong relationship with Mix to help launch this amazing series

Great care has been taken to remain true to the story line and Clive Cussler's vision to convert these action packed "techno thrillers" into a television series for loyal fans of all ages. Established long term relationships with business partners across the globe have played a vital role in presenting unprecedented opportunities to the production company for locations such as the pioneering global city of Dubai or the historic 16th century city of Cartagena, Colombia as well as Capetown, South Africa and for product placement with high profile Fortune 500 companies. Oregon Productions is also excited about its partnership with the resort giant Kerzner International and its new Atlantis Hotel located on Palm Island in Dubai.

With the industry changes for content in various formats, Oregon Productions is poised to capitalize on all income sources currently available in the entertainment industry and marketing opportunities attached to productions of this caliber and scale.

CLIVE CUSSLER, the Grand Master of the action adventure novel, is one of the most commercially successful writers – and franchises – in the world, with over 100 million books in print. Cussler's The Oregon Files series are 21st century techno-thrillers with international settings, fantastic spectacles, and outlandish plot devices. The global notoriety of Clive Cussler, combined with an international cast and international story plots, leads to an obvious international release of the television series, and a global, multi-level marketing campaign.

The executive team is experienced in major motion pictures, broadcasting, entertainment business development, animation, content development, writing and large scale event production in addition to a wealth of experience in the recording industry. Cussler's 43 books have been published in 40 languages, and released in over 100 countries worldwide, and his publisher, the Penguin Group, is the second largest publishing company in the world. The established global audience of Cussler fans, together with the proven global audience for The Oregon Files book series, creates a perfect scenario for the television series adventures of this covert operations ship, The Oregon, and her incredible crew lead by Juan Cabrillo.

The storylines, the characters, and the homeport of Dubai, Cartagena or Capetown are larger than life, having the "anything goes" quality and international appeal of James Bond or Indiana Jones. The Oregon Files focuses on the ship the "Oregon". While appearing to be a decrepit freighter, it's actually a high-tech advanced ship, a marvel of scientific research equipment bristling with state-of-the- art weaponry. The "Oregon" is owned by the Corporation, and is under the leadership of x-CIA special agent Juan Cabrillo. The ship is run like a business, with its crew being actual shareholders, taking jobs for Interpol, the CIA, business and wealthy individuals to help stop international crimes and catastrophic terrorism. They are modern day privateers, sailing the high seas taking on ultra-covert and ultra-dangerous missions for the right cause, and the right price. The crew is adept at disguises, combat, advanced technologies, covert actions and much more to aid in their missions.

In a chaotic world, The Oregon Files is a show about possibilities and as an ongoing series will appeal to millions of Cussler fans craving drama and action, or those who wish they could just make a difference.

PRODUCTION TIMELINE
The pilot is comprised of 2 episodes with the goal of a worldwide premiere in the Fall of 2011. When principal funds arrive the production team will begin working with the Master Storyboards through the holidays with full scale production development beginning in the Spring of 2012. Production of The Oregon Files trailer has begun. It's a two minute clip being produced by four Academy Award winning producers and is expected to showcase phenomenal visual and special effects.

DISTRIBUTION – Cable & Syndication
The Oregon Files will be a "first-run syndication" series airing on Cable Television in the US and simultaneously syndicated throughout the world on various networks. The US will partner with one of the major cable networks for exclusive airing as a feature series presentation. Similar to the impact that the Sopranos had with HBO, The Oregon Files will create the same viewership following with outstanding ratings. To date we have had preliminary discussions with the top US cable networks and have received favorable interest from the USA Network, Turner Broadcasting, WB, HBO and A&E. Once funding is secure the US distribution partner will be chosen. In speaking with three of the top international syndicates, they anticipate The Oregon Files airing in over 100 countries and being translated into a minimum of fifteen (15) languages.

Pilot, Series, DVD Releases & Second-Run Syndication
To premier the first season we will produce a two hour Pilot Show for international release. This will be the key tie-in for the loyal Cussler readers to become loyal Cussler viewers of the show and this action packed thriller is designed to capture new fans who love spies, assassins and international intrigue like Casino Royale and Bourne. The Oregon Files will have 22 shows per season. At this time they are all one-hour shows but as development moves forward we will entertain longer shows for the season openers and closers or other special occasions that are deemed appropriate.

Longevity – First Run Series
For maximum commitment from international syndication we are designing for a minimum five (5) year run. Subject to ratings and interest, additional years in first-run will be considered.

DVD Sales & Internet Downloads
DVD sales & Internet Downloads will become an important part of the revenue stream for the series. On-demand Internet downloads will be available for purchase very soon after a show airs while DVD sales will be tastefully offered seasonally and annually.

Second-Run Syndication
Conservative projections for The Oregon Files Second-Run Syndication are a minimum of three-years per show season. Trends show that for this type of action thriller series, Second-Run Syndication can go well above this number. In either scenario of three-years or more, the revenue stream will be very strong for years to come.

Traditional Broadcast/Syndication Revenues
•55 countries for five years (major international primetime TV markets)
•Primetime Network or Cable television in the U.S.

At this time Robert [Bovill] is a partner in Mix Entertainment Holdings, developing television, film and real estate projects. He wrote the treatment for Clive Cusslers “Oregon Files” that helped persuade Mr. Cussler to give MIX the authorization to convert his books into television, film and gaming products.

I emailed GOTV for more information about the Oregon Files trailer and received this:
QUOTE
GoTV was hired by Mix Entertainment Holdings to produce a trailer for a one hour television series based on the Oregon Files franchise. The project was executive produced by Scott Ross and John Fassett. For any information regarding the future development of the project, you would need to contact Mix Entertainment Holdings directly.

Mix Entertainment is affiliated with the Tribune company, a well known media giant and producer of many popular syndicated shows. That being said, I suspect the fact that the pitch and trailer were produced just as the economy tanked may offer an explanation as this hasn't gone anywhere.

That's an awesome pitch video. Thanks for easing my concerns. Now if only someone would finance the damned thing.
