Lucky you ta16uva! can't wait for the pics. As far as i know C-SPAN's booktv was there to tape the festival but unfortunately congress pre-empted the festival telecast. So hopefully it will be telecast sometime this weekend or next. wave.gif

There's no doubt about Clive Cussler ... he says whats on his mind!

Also, Dr. Cussler does not think that Sahara the movie will be successful, but he did say if it was a blockbuster he would, "be throwing up on the way to the bank!"

When I was talking to him in December, he seemed disappointed that Hugh Jackman was unavailable for some reason. I then told him Hugh was prancing about on Broadway portraying Peter Allen. He also said then that MM was second choice.

I was able to attend the national book festival in dc today, and we were able to ask Dr. Cussler a few questions. One that was asked, was how he felt about Matthew McConaughey and Steve Zahn playing Dirk and Al. His first response was "Steve Zahn is not Al Giordino." Obviously he does not think that Steve will pull off the role. He said that "McConaughey was the best we could get. I personally wanted Hugh Jackman for the role, but he was unavaible because of a theater production in New York."

From what he shortly said about the movie, it appears that he has not seen it yet and it has not been completely edited.

No more questions about Sahara were asked after that, because it was obvious that Dr. Cussler was upset about the movie.

I will upload pictures a little later. smile.gif
