I was so excited about a couple of items I received for Christmas I had to run and put it on here to share with people who understand my passion for the Titanic. My parents found this in an antique shop here in Maine this summer. The seller obviously had no idea what they had! yike: It is a White Star Line egg cup in the turquoise 'tongues and tendril' pattern designed exclusively for the Titanic, First Class. They sold one of these at the Guernsey's auction this past June, with an estimated value of $400-500. My parents paid nowhere near this amount, because as much as they love me, that would be way out of their budget. They have quite an extensive knowledge of anitques and did an exhaustive search to verify that this item is not a reproduction. We believe it was a replacement piece. Meaning when the Titanic came back into port from a run, it would have replaced any broken pieces, except the Titanic never came back. The serial numbers match other original pieces, and the date of creation is March 1912. t:

I never met her, but my great grandmother travelled steerage and survived so my family has some memorabilia I hope gets passed along to me at some point. 	Awesome finds Liz! That egg cup is the coolest! I love it when you find something in an antique shop and the people don't know what they have. I hope to see your collection in person one day! I'm really happy for you. And by the way, it didn't sound like bragging at all silly!
