| Despite the Defense satellites that had saved the Industrial nations from being knocked into the dark ages, some light radiation emissions had seeped through the magnetosphere of planet Earth and though not of much danger to human health, it had penetrated the upper layers of the soil across the planet, including the park in West Virginia, where the former Revolutionary War Fort Randolph had been located. The radiation caused a chemical reaction with the DNA of the Mothman creature that had been buried by Alexander Vestrel in his flight from the law. A small creature began to grow very slowly. By the election date in November the creature was the size of a human finger. Nathan LeMontaigne was elected President of the United States. The Master of the Brethren was not pleased and knew it would still be a matter of time before he could be the dictator of the World. THE END | |

| April 14, 2028. The Norse Goddess, formerly the Los Angeles class submarine, David Lee Whelchel surfaces off the coast of California in plain sight and fires a missile that heads directly towards the San Andreas fault. The Missile strikes the faultline near Parkfield, California and explodes. The resulting earthquake registers a 6.3 on the Richter scale. A communique from the Submarine announces what has just occured to the media and Willem Fife's voice is recognized as the announcer. Also announced in the same message was that Willem claimed responsibility for the Solar Storm in March. Within an hour of the communique, Arrest warrants for Willem Fife are filed and an APB for the man is declared. Over an hour later, the Vice-President, Augustus Nero Fife announces his repudiation of his brother's activities and realizing his own political future is on the line, resigns. It is announced that Nathan LeMontaigne, the Secretary of Defense will take the oath of office at noon the next day, to become the next Vice-President of the United States. | |

| The Master of the Brethren was deeply disappointed by the lack of a dark age for him to take over the world. He had to make an example, of the consequences from the lack of success, by setting in motion, a plan to take care of Willem Fife. It would not do, to have Willem continually failing in plans of destruction towards the world. The Master of the Brethren called the Control Agent of Farrell Gly and told him what to tell Farrell. "Yes, I will take care of this, right away" replies Farrell Gly when he receives the call from his CA. Farrell Gly calls "Black Tom" Flint and tells him what to do. | |

| March 28, 2026. At a press briefing about the massive CME that had hit Earth, President Trevor Symington announced the leadership of his Secretary of Defense, Nathan LeMontaigne in bringing about the technology that had protected most of the Industrial nations from being wiped out electronically. Unfortunately a number of countries had taken the brunt of the solar storm and would take time to recover. Later, that night, Nathan LeMontaigne answered the phone, and was commended by his fellow Atlantean descendant, Hiram Yaeger, Jr. for his foresighted actions in preventing what could have been dire consequences. The world would have been knocked into a dark age with resulting loss of lives by diseases, massive violence and chaos. | |

| March 27, 2028. The largest known Solar Storm occurs on the surface of the Sun as the Lithium-Beryllium Nuclear bomb penetrates the sun and explodes. The resulting Solar flare and the Corona Mass Event it triggers affects most electronic communications on Earth. U.S. Department of Defense is alerted when it's satellites detect the flare and the resulting CME. A solar storm races towards the Earth. With less than twelve hours until the CME hits the Earth, the U.S. Department of Defense's Space Command, headed by General Lothar Flanagan contacts the President of the United States, Trevor Hugh Symington that the satellites in orbit will be deactivating all the electronic power companies transformers. The satellites also signal other strategic transformers across the planet and they are deactivated as well. President Tevor Hugh Symington asks his chief-of-staff Andrew Cardozo to find out who designed and executed the satellite system. Andrew Cardozo contacts the Department of Defense and finds out that it is Secretary of Defense, Nathan LeMontaigne. Andrew calls Nathan to report to the President. Less than two hours later, President Symington is thanking Nathan for being so farsighted and leading the project to fruition and is pleased that the United States had taken the lead in the technology and had such farsighted leadership. | |

| May 2019. The U.S. Department of Defense built a new series of satellites that would upgrade their capabilities and launched them into space over the next four years. The man in charge of the project at the business that had won the contract was Nathan LeMontaigne. Working at Northrop Grumman had been a challenge but it gained Nathan LeMontaigne the experience to make it in Politics as well. As an Engineer at Northrop Grumman for almost two decades, he had worked on a number of DOD contract jobs. At 5'9" and with wavy dark hair and piercing green eyes, he always had women admirers. But he was happily married to Mindy and the two of them had three kids; two sons and a daughter. | |

| September 12, 2026. In the middle of the Pacific Ocean a Missile spurts out of the Submarine, Norse Goddess, commanded by "Black Tom" Flint and flies into space on a direct course for the Sun. The Missile is packed with a Lithium-Beryllium nuclear bomb that will cause a massive explosion on the surface of the sun when it reaches it's destination in March of 2028. The resuling explosion will cause a massive solar storm that will spew towards Earth. Willem Fife waits with impatience. The Master of the Brethren is pleased of the forthcoming event that will cause havoc. | |

| After Otto Kleiser bought the submarine and had it outfitted with new electronic gear, "Black Tom" was pleased. "Black Tom" was in fact, Jordan Andrews, the former President of Russia who had, through deception, escaped the authorities after he had been forced to flee from Russia. Now that he was older, Jordan Andrews looked grizzled enough to look like a pirate and still sailed the seas commanding his ship, the Stormie Seas. It was near the end of August when he was finally given the submarine after it's outfitting. He called Willem Fife and informed him that he was ready to carry out the plans that Willem had set out for "Black Tom". | |

| June 26, 2026. In Suisun Bay lay the Boneyard of many ships including the recently decommissioned submarine, David Lee Whelchel. Nearby on a boat, "Black Tom" Flint eyed the submarine, salivating at the thought of making his lifelong dream of commanding a submarine come true. Next to him, the mysterious moneyman of the Brethren, Otto Kleiser, was directed by the Master of the Brethren to acquire the submarine for "Black Tom". The Master of the Brethren knew that Willem Fife would use "Black Tom" in his latest plans for power. | |

| May 13, 2026. At the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia, the Decommissioning Ceremony of the Los Angeles class submarine, David Lee Whelchel, was underway, officiated by the Secretary of Defense Nathan LeMontaigne and Vice-President Augustus Nero Fife. A warm, sunny day and everyone was outside for this great ceremony to celebrate a submarine that had served the country for 31 years after it had been built back in 1994 and served with a perfect record after putting to sea in 1995. Commander Abraham Abelard had been it's commanding officer for 24 of the 31 years onboard the submarine. |
