Here's a chance to win a copy of my new book The Adventures of Dodge Dalton in the Shadow of Falcon's Wings (yes, it is Falcon's Flight, proof read, but otherwise substantially unchanged....but the new cover is gonna be so cool) along with a couple other aventures.

Just go to the Megalith Blog and register your choices to win in each category of the Thriller Writer Smackdown...and then be sure to vote for your choices to make sure they win.

Clive and Jack are both in the running once more, as are myself and Dave Wood.

Just a reminder that the Smackdown will be starting in a couple days. Clive's first round will be May 2. I'll be posting daily updates as I did last year, but I encourage everyone to play the brackets contest mentioned above. It's a chance to win some free books.

Since it doesn't say anything about it in the rules, the answer is ABSOLUTELY.

And you're welcome to do everything in your power to influence the outcome (i.e. drum up votes for your picks)

You know, I'm actually a little bit excited about the smackdown. It's not "first pitch of baseball season" excited, but it's more than"World Baseball Classic" excited.

Megalith SmackdownThe Smackdown begins:

Today features reigning champion Thomas Greanias, author of the Atlantis Trilogy and a soon to be released new novel called The Promised War.

The challenger is J G Sandom, author of God Machine (which is often linked to my book on Amazon). I don't know too much about Sandom apart from that, and the description of his book which sounds like it would appeal to Dan Brown's fans--historical mysteries, hidden messages, secrets that will rock the Church...that sort of thing.

Be sure to vote and bookmark the site. Tomorrow is Clive's only first round match.

Gentle reminder Cussler Fans. Today is the day to vote for Clive (or Gayle Lynds if you want....but then why aren't you on the Gayle Lynds fan forum?).

Go to the link in the previous post and cast your vote.

So obviousley I voted for that Gayle chick ohmy.gif laugh.gif ..nah I voted for Clive....

I was reading further down the page though and came across this tidbit...

Quote**The major change I made this year was to limit authors to one entry, so no Clive Cussler co-authored novels**

But the pic is of Silent Sea..a co-authored book??

Good luck Sean thumbsup.gif

edit...I was reading the paper today and came across the first chapter of Gayle Lynds book The Book of Spies..coincidence? Hope not

What was meant by that was that Cussler would not double up in different co-author teams. Last year, there was a Cussler standalone, and a Cussler-Kemprecos (if I remember correctly).

Anyway, I just checked the vote count and Gayle Lynds trails by only one vote. It's close folks. Every vote matters, so if you haven't already done so...

I'll second that, Sean. Clive had been cruising all day with a very low turnout on both sides, and now it's close. We need some votes!

Clive eked out a victory yesterday, but it was an underwhelming contest all around.

Today's matchup between Steven Savile and Brad Thor is already turning into a barn-burner, with Savile holding a small lead as of this posting.

I'm a fan and friend of Steven Savile so I hope he wins. I tried reading Brad Thor once, but it...well, I didn't enjoy what I was reading so I didn't read any more.

Still, it's good to see people turning out to vote in the Smackdown.

Edit--In the time it took me to post that, the lead flipped big time. Thor just pulled ahead by quite a margin.

Wow! Saville has an excellent voter turnout, and Thor's still pounding him. At least we're not in his bracket.
