Just finished reading The Jungle. Thoroughly enjoyable adventure from Clive as always. For me definitely one of his best. I know all on this site enjoy novels, so any views on this adventure for the Oregon crew?

Enjoyable for sure. Only issue I had was the ending. I didn't care for the computer calling. A reach and I felt it could have ended better. Still excellent as always. I did enjoy Mercer making an appearance. Wonder when we will see his books appear again. Any idea?

I loved The Jungle. For me it was the best in the series so far. I am a big Mercer fan and while I was reading I thought it would be a hoot to see him appear in the book. What a surprise! I always like when they reference other characters while unfolding the story.

I'm not a big fan of the Oregon Files, but the Jungle was enjoyable. I especially liked the appearance from Mercer, but as always, Harry stole the show

I am reading it as we speak and can't put it down it is that good. When a book is this good I almost hate knowing it will end and I have to look for another book and hope it is as good. Good thing I have many new Clive Cusslers on my shelf to pick from.
![]() UPDATE: Just finished it and loved the ending. Makes perfect sense that in hyperspace things live on forever. I have never enjoyed the Oregon Files series until this book...what happened? Did Clive have a bigger role in writting it or has Jack Du Brul gotten better? Now I can't wait to read the next one. I have all of this series on a shelf and haven't been able to get into them but I'll give it another go now.. If you have not read the Jungle do not read my next remark. Why did the Chairman think he had to let go and pull Smiths fingers from the wall? Smith and anyone else left below would surly have drowned just as the hero's nearly did coming up in the elevator. I think he just wanted to make sure Smith didn`t get the smallest chance to survive, as Smith has been a Legionair, he was tough also, so i think with luck he could have made it out just the sam as Juan did.
I liked the book also, some parts where hard to imagine for me from the description, but that might be cause of my luck of enough english language-skills, or cause i am a woman and can`t so good imagine all of that technical stuff My husband is a gunsmith, and i have to say, all the weapon desriptions in the book are correct. By showing me some of that "toys" i could imagine some of the scenes easier. Anyway, great book, when does next one come, Mr. Cussler??? Plan A: Very soon! Plan B : there is no plan B This post has been edited by JuanitaC on May 22 2011, 09:20 AM |

Du Brul is doing the writing 100% with, I imagine, CC having a look every now and then etc.
Next Mercer book, according to the Du Brul forum, is the current writing project for Du Brul. Here's hoping he has the chance to complete it before the Oregon publishers come knocking again. |

You know ANTI something.... i don`t care so much and i don`t even dare to talk about who is writing what. Their connection is their thing. THEY do a great ENTERTAINING thing. It`s enough, isn`t it??

It was great reading that Jack Dubrul is writing another Mercer book. Jack's use of Mercer's character in the Jungle was fun to read. I just finished re-listening (road trip) to River of Ruin and it's about time to get another geological book out there.
