Thanks for the welcome. I'm reading nothing but Clive right now. I'm doing the Dirk Pitt adventures in chronological order. The early works aren't bad. Maybe a little shallow, but they have good strong stories. I made the mistake of deciding to do this after I had read several out of sequence. I'm reading "Night Probe" right now. (just started actually). BTW, I'm a carreer Navy man(retired) and love the sea. I'm living vicariously through my heroes at NUMA. Take care all. titanic.gif

Nice of you to come on here and give us you IN DEPTH analysis. blink.gif
How about you back up your claim and give us an example, like everyone else has.
The fact that you can't spell or use punctuation makes me think you're full of s***

I just finished reading all the posts here and realized I should not have read any of them. I am not quite halfway through the book and that is why I should have stayed out of this forum - dangit.

Oh well it just backs up my early thought that this book is awesome. The top three (and in no particular order because they are all #1) introductions are Treasure, Sahara and Shockwave.

When it came to the part about Boudicca having a "secret life" I thought she might play for the other team yikes.gif - if you know what I mean. That is messed up she is a he. cowboy.gif

So far a great read. thumbsup.gif

Yeah, I fell for the same thing.

As for Shock Wave, I think it is probably the most action packed of all Dirk Pitt's adventures - so much so that the ending is almost an anti-climax (or was that because I already knew about the death of a particular person? mmmmmmmmmmm).

Just got done reading the book, have read everyone before it, and am now reading flood tide. At one point in SW Dorsett is said to have someone relaying information to him that works for NUMA. I don't remember this subject being brought up later, but is the leak ever found. If it is i dont want to know the name of who, but the book where it takes place is fine.

Doesn't Dirk chase after the person on a motorcycle? I may be thinking of a completely different book and/or mole.

Just finished "ShockWave"...WOW!!! What an excellent adventure, not to mention I'm always at a loss as to CC's great creative writing.
Like all of us I'm sure, we have all read about volcanoes and people describing them, however I have never experienced the description of a volcano that occurs in this book quite like the way CC puts it. I almost felt like I was there in it myself. Now THAT is excellent writing indeed!!
The adventure in this book was ongoing and the added touch of Maeve winding her in closely with Dirk was a nice touch. Made for a sad ending. I don't think I've ever hated a villain as much as Arthur Dorsett and his daughters..err, one daughter that is. ha ha.
Another 10/10 in my opinion.

On to my 14th CC book now "Spartan Gold" After reading two 10's in a row, "Sahara" and "ShockWave" it's gonna be tough to follow that act. thumbsup.gif
