Ok so I have a professional development training after school today. So I have to sit through two hours of boring elementary school presenting while the new Cussler NUMA / Kurt Austin book is sitting on a shelf in Barnes and Noble. Once I finally get out of said training I drive immediately to B & N and start looking for Devils Gate. But low and behold, I can't find it. I'm in the new arrival section but not there. I go to the Cussler section but not there. I go to the Graham Brown section thinking they may have messed up but not there. So I'm starting to get ticked and pull my phone out and google the release date. Well it's today and I can't find the book. I'm about ready to go ask someone when I see a small table off to the side with other new arrivals. Yeah it was there and I breathed a sigh of relief.
Funny part of the story is that when I went to check out the young lady behind the counter is very attractive - maybe even consider her smoking hot if you will. Anyway, she sees Cussler as the author and remarks that he's her favorite author also. Well I see my opening and decide to take it (I'm single so it's cool). I'm being all charming, witty an really emphasizing my intelligence. I'm really being all suave and debonair. Then she says something about having a husband and I just cut the conversation off and left. I think I paid for the book.......I hope I paid for the book. |

You must have purchased it because the technology in most commercial establishments today will know right away if you step outside without purchasing. When I see an attractive woman I always assume there's at least a boyfriend or husband. And if I do screw up the nerve to talk to an attractive woman I keep it general. It's hard to find one unattached and interested in you. But keep on trying!
