A poll was done recently with military men and woman that USAA serves concerning the best of the best submarine films. Some have had personal experiences on subs and some have been extras in the films. Just incase you need a good sub to watch here is how the men and women ranked them:
1- Das Boot 2- The Hunt for Red October 3- Run Silent, Run Deep 4-Operation Petticoat 5- The Enemy Below Honorable Mentions: U-571 Crimson Tide Destination Tokyo Operation Pacific Gray Lady Down Feel free to add your own comments on the films or nominate another one |

Down Periscope and Crimson Tide were both super excellent in their own regards (very different films). U-571 was a lot better than I thought it would be, and Hunt for Red October made a lot more sense after I read the book.
