QUOTE
I just consider that height thing to be a typo in that one book ... that's what I say ...

I thought about that, except Pitt's weight was heavier than the average 185 pounds.

The submersible Sea Slug looked aerodynamically clean and smooth from her outside, but to Pitt, as he contorted his six-foot-two frame into the pilot's chair, the interior seemed a claustrophobic nightmare of hydraulic plumbing and electrical circuitry

***

Dana cried out in startled pain as she was slammed to the deck. There were no apologies from Pitt for throwing her there and then crushing the breath out of her as he used his hundred and ninety pounds for a protective shield

I don't know how to explain the height, but as for the weight, people's weight does change over time. Maybe Dirk got into the whole diet fad early. dry.gif Nah.

Can anyone recall Dirk's favorite brand of Champagne? I just read the line and am wondering if anyone remembers it. Hint: It consists of 7 words and only two of them are pronounceable. laugh.gif

Helene, you might want to add this to the DP profile on your site.

oswalder, are you referring to Yellow Lable Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut Champagne? Atlantis Found (11)

I will take heed to your suggestion. Some other people have requested that I include the alcohoic beverages Dirk Pitt likes to drink on my site.

laugh.gif I was trying to remember this favorite drink of Dirk's recently when I was writing one of my fan fiction stories but did not remember what book it was mentioned in. Personally, I have never had any and do not understand it's appeal. Personally a drink of beer will do for me or an occasional whiskey sour. pirate.gif

That would be the one! Does anyone know what that whole name means in English, if anything?

Clive Cussler based the character of Al Giordino on his Air Force buddy Al Giordano. A play on their names is made in two of the adventures.

"The search is already under way."
"I heard nothing -"
"About a search effort?" Seagram finished. "Not likely that you would. Until the operation becomes unwieldy in terms of security. Even your special assistant special projects director, Albert Giordano -"
"Giordino."
""Yes, Giordino, thank you. He is at this very moment piloting a search probe across the Atlantic sea floor in total ignorance of his true mission."
Raise the Titanic (25)

You don't seem to get it, Mr. Giordano."
"Giordino."
"Whatever," Hargrove muttered indifferently.
