Depending on if Sahara is a hit...Cussler drops his lawsuit smile.gif what would you like to see in the series.

I want:

1) Characters playing Pitt, Giordino, Sandecker etc to sign on for 3 films or more just so there is continuation

2) Films be released every say 2 years: Sahara (2004), Dirk Pitt 2 (2006) not Sahara in 2004 then say the next film 2008 then 2009!

3) A Dirk Pitt Theme (Like Bond has). I just want to hear the theme pick up when Pitt is about to do something cool!

Welcome DirkPitt007 !!

I'd like to see Clive Cussler playing his part in one of the movies.

I agree with the 2 year movie gap ... just like the old Pitt books.

And most importantly, I'd like to see the unique dialogue between Pitt and Al on the big screen to be just as good as it is in the books.

Cheers

Agreed...the interplay between Pitt and Giordino is always an integral part of the novel series and shouldn't be overlooked by the screenplay writers.

I could have sworn in more than one interview I've been reading...there's a 2 or 3 movie deal..swear that's what I read.

Also, I guess Clive wanted Inca Gold to be the movie but the writers had already started on Sahara.

I have just read my first Cussler book and cannot believe it hasn't been turned into a film, i read Atlantis found, what an epic this has the scope and plot to become on of the greatest movies of all time in terms of action if they can transfer the cunning dialogue's and capture the sense of this book. This Dirk Pitt could be as big as Bond! I am desperate to read some other book's by this guy and hope to see some dirk pitt movies released! This author is astonishing!

I would love to see them do a television series of the Oregon Files. It would cool to see someone playing Juan Cabrillo - but who?? I really liked SAHARA, but felt that they really didn't do the book justice in terms of the historical connections; Lincoln's assassination and Kitty's disappearance are never touched upon.

As a film, I agree every two years and make all of them - they are all so damn great!

I like Joe Mantegna to play Juan Carrillo and double as Al Gordino. I also like that blonde guy who played a baddie in "Desperate Housewives" to play the part of "Shaw" in "Night Probe"
I had mad a post in the General Topics category, but I now see it belongs here.
Regarding a casting for the novel "Shock Wave", i had originally thought of Peter Coyote as the evil Diamond mogul Arthur Dorsett, Sharon Stone as Bouducca Dorsett, Mila Kunis as Dierdre Dorsett, and had originally cast Nicole Kidman as Maeve Fletcher, but now I am starting to think that Gwyneth Paltrow might be a better choice.
Dirk should be either Matthew Macaunaghey or Pierce Brosnan.

Every three to four years sounds better than two years separation between the movies. The next book they adapt to film should be Vixen 03. Then Deep Six. Cyclops. And a remake of Raise the Titanic of course. With the financing, special effects and the adaptation of the story into a script takes time. Every two years is not enough time to do a movie adaptation with justice. pirate.gif wave.gif s18.gif
