With a bloody ear, some bullet grazes on his arms, a couple of sprained ribs and covered in the blood of the mercs, Dirk Pitt had taken care of three of the mercenaries within fifteen minutes. David Powers had a broken arm, sprained ankle, several bullet grazes and a bloodied nose. David had killed four of the mercenaries. And now the members of the Bridge crew who were not dead or severely injured were fighting the rest of the mercenaries. Unfortunately the important members of the Bridge crew who could stop the ship were dead. It was an immediate brawl when Dirk and David had come into the Bridge and firing at the black clad mercs holding weapons. After the melee had slowed down David Powers had the leading merc in a tight armlock around the neck and got the location of the bomb charges. Dirk and David then raced around the storage tanks and the crawl space between the double hulled ship, where they deactivated the explosive charges. Now it was 11:57AM and less than five minutes from impact with the Omega Gtroup Headquarters. Everyone braced as the city sized ULCC plowed easily over the dock, the low wall and on into the main building killing the few individuals and guards who happened to be working. The strongly built ship withstood the impact of the buildings and thankfully none of the storage tanks were punctured. The Omega Group headquartes was no more. Several subbasements of the Omega Group, where scientific work was conducted collapsed upon each other.

Braden and the rest of the world watched awestruck at the huge ULCC lying atop what had been the Omega Group headquarters on TV. Samantha Green held the young boy, Forrest DeMars in her arms and Vanessa sat on the couch crying silently. Andrew DeMars, the head of DeMars shipping was also killed at the Omega Group headquarters. All hell broke loose with the media attention on the abuses by the shipping company and now looking closely at the history of the powerful think tank that held a strong sway over several Administrations since President Ford. Many members had distinguished government positions and the policies of each of the succeeding Presidents had been heavily influenced for both good and the bad. A new era was dawning over Washington, D.C. without this organization. President John F. Kennedy Jr. vowed to sweep out all personnel and a review of the policies would be conducted with an independent eye towards cleaning the government. Braden felt gladdened at the news that DeMars Shipping and the family had learned a hard lesson. Hopefully, he was praying that the investigation would not pick up on his initiating the whole thing.

December 27, 2020. Samantha Green saw the positive sign on her pregnancy test and realized she was pregnant with Braden's child. She set an appointment for a doctor's appointment the next day and found out that she was nearly four months pregnant and just beginning to show now. She didn't think much about young Forrest's comment that she had gained some weight in the last month. She had put it down due to the sweets and the holiday meals. She debated whether she should go see Braden. It was most unsettling now that she thought about it, having gotten pregnant by a 60 year old man.

Arriving back home in Wellington, New Zealand Dirk Pitt knew he was in for it when Loren would see him. Sure enough, after deplaning the sub-orbital Virgin Galactic ship, the Vanguard, he strode into the waiting area and Loren gasped after seeing her husband. "This is the last time you will ever go on a mission or anything to do with NUMA or saving the planet or anybody's life" exclaimed Loren Pitt. All through the drive home she gave Dirk a good tongue lashing. "This is the last time Dirk! I swear, if you try this again you will surely die, if not by someone else but me!".

Over the next few months, Braden Fabrizian greased the wheels of the Russian government and when the United States finally tracked down enough details with several testimonies to prove his culpability, the Russian government did not want one of their benefactors to be taken away and declared that as long as he stayed in Russia he was to be protected by the Russian government. On May 13, 2021 Fergus Fabrizian was born in Lancaster, PA. Early in June, Samantha Green flew to Sochi in Russia and showed up at the Dacha where Braden lived. When he opened the door, he saw the baby and knew without a doubt that the child was his. "I want you to see your son, Braden. His name is Fergus Green Fabrizian. I have been informed by the authorities back in the states that if you ever come to see him you will be Arrested but they said that I can come to visit you with Fergus anytime". Samantha walks into the Dacha with the young baby and hands him to Braden. Braden smiles. Samantha looks at him and. "Did you happen to know that Kenneth DeMars was my stepfather, when you set out to destroy him and the shipping company?". Braden, stunned, steps back and sinks into the couch. "Oh my god!! I had no idea!". Samantha was pleased to see an honest reaction. She smiled and sat next to Braden. "I think we could have a future, Braden. But obviously, I will have to consider living here if we do". She leans over to kiss Braden. THE END.
