This years expedition to locate the wreck of the 'Richard' started on the 6th June out of Grimsby but the last few legs of the expedition have been running in and out of Whitby. I was given my usual cordial welcome aboard the Ocean Dancer and enjoy, becoming reacquainted with people I hold close. As teatime came around I was invited to stay but had to decline as my wife would have already started cooking ours, it would not have gone down very well had I gone home not wanting tea.

Dirk was his usual charming self and I find him so welcoming as is Ralph Wilbanks the team's resident electronic specialist! I have spent some time with Ralph and found our conversations quite intriguing, and hope to be able to add a page on my website dedicated to Ralph and his very close relationship to Clive. I have made some changes to my website in particular my Clive Cussler pages. I learnt that the charter vessel was up for sale and was a little saddened to know that this year might have been the last time I was to see the familiar green boat as it entered the harbour. There has now been a bit of a twist which I have explained on my
Ocean Dancer pages.
Clive himself is expected over here this coming Friday and I look forward to sharing a drink with him. I will be happy to pass on belated regards for his birthday even though I have already dropped off a card ready for his arrival. I will of course return to update anything related to this years expedition.

Thanks for the update, Colin! This might explain why Dirk wasn't at the roast, if he was out shipwreck hunting. Give Clive our best on Friday, please! beersmilie.gif

[QUOTE]Hi Kelly

Been awhile since we last exchange contact with each other. I wish I had checked up on you as I could have arranged fro you to meet with Dirk. Truth be told I thought you were further down the coast, sorry

It has been awhile Colin, I hope you're doing well. Thanks for the thought - in all honesty I don't normally shout from the rooftops 'I'm from Grimsby' but on this occasion it felt justified lol (Thankfully they all survived the visit, phew!!)

Maybe he was taking in a sample of grimsby's famous fresh fish and chips?

Clive's back home and indicated no success this year in the search for the Bonhomme Richard. Fingers crossed for next year! smile.gif
