Surfing on Mars

With 24 Wave Motion Guns firing simultaneously on the Oram fleet one fiery ball of energy that glowed liked one major star enveloped a major portion of space. 39 Mystrekonaquar Space Battle ships and 16 Earth Defense Force Battle ships watched simultaneouly as the ball of fire dissipated to nothing. The blackness of space returned and everyone strained to see if there was anything left.

Indeed there was several Oram Space Battle ships that had managed to evade the onslaught. They immediately returned fire with shock cannons, subspace torpedoes and one Wave Motion Gun. Three Mystrekonaquar space battle ships disappeared in a fiery blaze. EDF Battleships ordered their space fighters to attack the remaing Oram fleet.

"Lieutenant Fernald, concentrate subspace torpedoes on the remaining Oram ship with the Wave Motion Gun!" ordered Captain Hedison. "Yes, sir!"

Once the Oram ship with the Wave Motion Gun was destroyed Captain Hedison surveyed the Oram Battle ships that were left and not discerning any activity ordered all EDF and Mystrekonaquar Battle ships to retreat to Europa, Jupiter's moon.

As the retreating EDF and Mystrekonaquar Battle ships left the Uranus quadrant for Europa, the remaining Oram ships sent a message for the secondary fleet to adance quickly from their position at Barnard's Star.

The Oram Secondary Fleet raced from Barnard's Star towards Earth while the Earth Defense Force and the Mystrekonaquar fleet battled the Oram Fleet near Jupiter's Europa moon. "Lieutenant Fernald, fire both subspace torpedoes and pulse cannons at the Oram fleet and have everyone else follow suit too" Captain Hedison barked. The Oram fleet took major damage in this assault. "Liieutenant Fernald, I do believe that they are turning tail and slowly retreating, I do believe it is time to use the space fighters to finish them off"

With many dead and dying Oram left on the handful of spaceships the Earth Defense Space fighters returned to their EDF Space Battleships. "Lieutenant Fernald, use the Wave Motion Gun to put them out of their misery. Let'a all head towards the Asteroid belt and hove to for their Secondary Fleet to arrive. Our newer Space Cruiser Ships should be waiting for us there"

National Space Defense Advisor Burton Elwood Shoemaker stood before the President waiting for the six foot man who was just beginning to show some gray hairs and whose face was beginning to show the severe hardness that all Presidents get in their first few months as the new Chief Executive of the Nation. "Thank you, Mr. Shoemaker" as the President slowly reached for the nearest chair in the Oval Office and sitting down with a heavy resignation to the consequences of what was about to be unleashed. "That is all, Mr. Shoemaker, you may leave now" President DeMars began to think of the power that he had just been given. A Weapon that would be unparalleled in warfare, one that is even more powerful than the Wave Motion Gun. Just thinking about this new and unnamed spaceshhip and the weapon it posessed floored him.

All of the Earth Defense Spaceships gathered by the Asteroid Belt along with the remaining Mystrekonaquar spaceships. "Captain Hedison, an encrypted message for you, sir" "Thank you, Sparks" Walking over to the Captain's post on the Bridge Captain Hedison sat down in his chair and tapped out his password on the Message panel. "Capatin Hedison I am sending a new Spaceship to help in defeating the Oram Battle fleet. This spaceship will not show up on Radar and has no name. Neither you nor the Oram will know it's location. It's main weapon has far more firepower than the Wave Motion Gun. Space your fleet accordingly to the coordinates I am sending you".

The Oram Space Fleet came racing into the Solar System and began to slow down as it passed Jupiter. The Earth Defense Fleet was positioned near the Asteroid Belt on the Mars side. As the Oram fleet began to pass through the Asteroid Belt the Earth Defense Fleet opened fire with 10 meter Asteroid Boosters. The Boosters attached themselves to several hundred Asteroids and launched each Asteroid at the Oram Spaceships. The Orams were stunned when they were being bombarded by the Asteroids and with no room to escape began taking heavy damage to their ships. More and More Asteroinds bombarded the Oram spaceships. Soon the Orams began firing their weapons at any asteroid. Finally, the Oram spaceships escaped the Asteroid Belt but each ship had taken a severe beating. Seeing the Earth Defense Fleet before them in an odd array formation and moved towards them with increasing speed. Without any warning a massive Sun like energy grew larger and larger enveloping the entire Oram Fleet. Every single Oram ship disappeared in the biggest mass of Energy ever produced. Every Man and Woman Soldier in the Earth Defense Fleet were shocked by the Brightest Light ever seen in space and winced, closing their eyes in reaction. When the Light disappeared and the normal darkness of Space returned, everyone opened their eyes slowly. No evidence of the Oram Space fleet could be detected. "What in the world was that, Captain?" echoed in each Spaceship. "I do not know" echoed all but one Captain.

"Oram Space fleet destroyed by a Nova like burst of energy" Captain Hedison tapped out on his message pad back to the President. "Captain, may we ask where that burst of energy came from, sir?" Taking a slow and deep breath Captain Hedison replied, "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a new weapon that has an amazing firepower that surpasses even the Wave Motion Guns" "What is it called, Captain?" "I do not know but there was a spaceship amongst our fleet that is basically invisible to the naked eye" Walking over to the main view port Sparks looked closely and then took out a special set of glasses he had made some time back and looked intently. "Captain, come here and take a look, sir" Captain Hedison walked over to the main view port and put on the special glasses. Indeed there was a black colored spaceship that was so massive and vaguely looked like an old remote control he had when he was a young boy. "Sparks, I want you to write on a piece of paper how you made those glasses and hand it over to me and then I want you to destroy those glasses, do you understand me, soldier?" "Yes, sir!" Walking over to the communication station Sparks wrote down the specifications of the glasses and then destroyed the glasses by breaking it into as small pieces as he could and then took the pieces over to the trash chute where it was broken down further as it was sucked away to the trash compactors. Handing the piece of paper over to Captain Hedison who then tapped a message to the President and dropping the piece of paper into his trash chute. In his mind, Captain Hedison conceived his own name of the mystery spaceship, Deep Black. The remaining Mystrekonaquar spaceships had already left. "Let's return to Earth" said Captain Hedison.
