Half awake, Dawn heard someone swimminmg out in the water and watched until the blob reached shore and stood up. The man looked like a sculpted greek god. The muscular figure silently approached and stopped. Obviously he was admiring her too. "Welcome to Hawaii sir, may I help you and just how far have you swam?""I have been swimming for several hours and knew Hawaii was near. I am Nick Cates and you are?" "I am Dawn Torrance" After getting to know each other Dawn offered to take Nick to her hotel room so he can shower. After showering Nick stepped out of the bathroom and saw Dawn waiting on the bed au natural. Over an hour later, both of them took a shower together. After dressing, Nick said he had leave. "Will we see each other again, Nick?" "I hope so, Dawn"

Nick went to the NCTAMS at Hickam and was ushered into the ONI's office where he showed his credentials and was allowed to send a teletype to the IOI office in D.C. Several minutes later a reply came back giving him the authority to speak with the Governor. After leaving the office Nick requested a vehicle to use. Driving to the Governor's office and was immediately allowed into the Governor's office. Briefing Governor Quinn about his investigation and his request to set up a local IOI office. "I also want to speak to the Chief of Police, Steve McGarrett. Can you have him come over, please" "yes, Mr. Cates" "Now, Governor, I have a proposal, sir" and the two talked.

"Governor, what is this about, sir?" asked Steven. "I Want you to listen to Mr. Cates proposal, Steve" "Steven, as a representative of the Office of Naval Intelligence and the International Oceanic Intelligence I am asking you to head up a new organization called Five-0. It is basically a State Police but with extraordinary powers considering there are international traffic through Hawaii on a 24 hour basis. Are you interested? "Yes, I am Mr. Cates. May I aask what these extraordinary powers are?' 'Yes, I will give you a rundown of the powers" After his recitatiion Nick then tells Steve of his investigation onboard the containership that had been organized by Wo Fat and was transporting materiel for the devilous character that Steve has been battling for years.

Press Secretary Ron Edwards announced the President would be in secret negotiations with the Russian Prime Minister. As the Press Secretary was making his announcement a secret National Security Council meeting was taking place 140 feet beneath the White House. "Mr. President, a container ship with diseased Asians is sitting 300 miles from Hawaii and something needs to be done about the matter" "I am sure it would be okay if we allow them in despite the illegality involved here and Wo Fat's profiteering off these poor souls" "No Mr. President, these wretched folks will have a worldwide effect because this disease spreads easily and will affect anybody coming and leaving Hawaii, sir" "What!! Can't we do something about this!!??" said the President. "No, Mr. President, there is not. We cannot send these wretched souls near any shoreline" "There has to be a way to take care of this!!" "No, sir" "Anything?" "Sir, if I can say something?" the Chief of Staff asks. "Go, ahead Frederick" "I have an idea where we send them to Vietnam and have them become casualties of the Vietnamese conflict" "That is outrageous!!" screams the IOI Chief, Donald Krome. "I just don't see any way out of this, gentlemen" annouced the President. "Mr. President, we have no choice but to use a Devil's Alternative" announced the Assistant National Security Adviser, Dennis Fortier announces. "What the hell is a Devil's Alternative. Dennis?" "Mr. President, a Devil's Alternative is an extreme solution, sir. I am saying, sir that an extreme solution in this case, is a Nuclear Strike and announcing a Nuclear Test as the pretext" "Before I address that Dennis, I want to know if we can incarcerate the man responsible for this" "No, sir. Because if we send Wo Fat to jail there would have to be a credible charge in this matter and we can not do so without someone becoming nosy. Wo Fat will not be prosecuted for this. I am afraid that the Five-0 Director, Steve McGarrett will not like this because he has been after Wo Fat for years and I do not see any other way to resolve this but to use Dennis' solution, Mr. President" "Very well, we will use a nuclear strike to clean up this mess". The meeting broke up and a message was sent to Press Secretary Ron Edwards.

Stunned at the news that the Federal Government was not prosecuting Wo Fat, Steve sat down in his chair defeated. "Now I have to start all over again with this scum who has bedeviled me. Dan-O. let's get to work on what needs to be done and pray tp god that we can nail this buzzard."

Lucia de Cammerer stepped off the plane and knew that she was home when she saw the young women with the Lei's and their smiling faces. Walking down the steps and the first young lady gave Lucia an extra large Lei. Strolling into the Airport and knowing that every man and women noticed Lucia's regal poise. Lucia was on a mission as she sailed out of the entrance of the airport and the nearest taxicab sped to her location. Stepping into the taxicab Lucia sat down and before she knew it a man had already closed the door. "Where to miss?" "To the Royal Hawaiian, please" The Taxicab sped off. Later, in her room at the Royal Hawaiian Lucia changed into a new outfit that was more appropriate for the climate. Lucia went down to the ground floor and sailed into the restaurant that faced the beach. After her meal, Lucia, 6 feet 2 inches and with Red hair and grey-blue eyes took her drink and sat down on the outside patio facing the beach. Lucia had been born in Graz, Austria and was raised in Italy and had traveled all of Europe with her parents the Count and Countess Valerian.

1378. Valerian de Cammerer was perplexed at the Crystalline Skull that he had just dug up in the mountains of Afghanistan and wrapped it in a heavy cloth and took it back home to Europe. At the Cammerer Castle Valerian sat with his closest friend Miquelito DiMera. Valerian described his adventures of in the Mountains of Afghanistan. "My word, Valerian that sounds terribly dangerous and foolhardy of you to take such risks, it stuns me to say this of someone who has never before been so bold"

30 June 1942. Hours before he was to ride on the U.S.S. Grunion Harrison Silverstein snuck into the Naval base and sabotaged the dive plane of the submarine U.S.S. Grunion and emotionally prepared himself for his suicide mission aboard the submarine. Hours later, stepping aboard the USN Grunion, Harry Silverstein was welcomed by Lt. Commander Mannert Abele. "Welcome aboard as our guest Mr. Silverstein, it's a pleasure to meet you, sir. This is my Executive Officer, Milliner Thomas and he will see you to your quarters, sir.

4AM 1 August 1942. Wesley Blimston Radioman Third class was working a crossword puzzle to while the time. Someone tapped on the door to the Radio room. Wesley answered and asked who the man was. "I am Harry Silverstein and I have a note here from Commander Abele to allow me to use the radio. "Oh, okay, sir" as Wesley looked at the note. "It will take me just a moment" said Harry. Harry tapped out the message as Wesley turned his head and smoked his cigarette. "Okay, I am done, young man. Thank you" Forty-Five minutes later the U.S.S. Grunion was attacked by the Japanese submarine Kano Maru. A brief battle ensued and the Grunion was dealt a fatal blow and she sank in the Aleiutian sea.

After having interviewed the Commander of the Kano Maru, John Abele was able to find the remnants of the Grunion using a side scan sonar in 2006. John was elated that this was most likely his father's submarine. Returning to the location in 2007 John Abele and his brothers used a ROV called the DSSI Oceaneering and videotaped the remnants of the submarine and confirmed it was his father's sub. After analyzing the videotape it was apparent that she had been heavily torpedoed by the Kona Maru but John also noted damage to the dive plan that must have impaired the U.S.S. Grunion to maneuver. The United States Navy acknowledged in 2008 that the U.S.S. Grunion had been found.

George Pataski was all suited up for his dive and rolled backwards into the water and slowly dived towards the U.S.S. Grunion. After coming up on it George swam around the submarine and coming upon the dive plane he inspected it closely and noted the evidence of sabotage. George turned around swam away from the submarine to see if there was much of a debris field and saw something that looked odd and swam down to have a closer look. Upon close insprection it looked like a skull but it looked different. George picked it up and put it in his salvage bag on his waist. After circling the submarine again further out he noted sporadic debris. Finally George swam towards the surface. Reaching the boat that John Abele and his brothers were on and waiting patiently for his return. With John's help George climbed aboard and took the scuba gear and his suit off and replacing them with his jeans and sweater. Reaching into the salvage bag and pulling out the skull it was obviously now apparent that it was crystalline. Everyone gasped as George began to explain how he came upon it.
