Blast from the past here. I was just thinking and with the Mario topic on Buzz being the very first topic to go past 40 pages (and remained completley on topic the whole time), I thought that we could go use another topic devoted to everybody's favorite plumber and friends.

And to start things off, let's all watch an episode of the show Mario made his TV debut on.

I wanna see a game where Kong and Koopa team up...Imagine jumping on a turtle and then smacking it into a barrel.

They need to do a game where Bowser holds a meeting for past mario nemies nad invites Wart, Donky Kong, Wario, and Tatanga to all work together with him.

Does Wart even actually exist? I always thought he was just some weird fever dream of Mario.

As for Wart, I'd count him as existing. I mean, if all those shyguys and stuff he used could show up in later games, I don't see why he can't.

I like the SPM RPG mixed with a sidescroller. If they just did a straight mario game that way, without the switch to 3d stuff, it could be awesome beyond awesomeness.

Paper Mario went into battles when you touched the enemy. Super Paper Mario doesn't.

Cranky Kong, damn it.

The current DK is just as much a hero as Mario.

The current DK and Mario still seem to have a bit of a grudge against each other.

Don't forget other Mario villians like those sisters from Thousand Year Door, the Xnauts, and Dimentio.

I was thinking about them, but I kinda wantd a chance for the old rogue's to shine.

So, isn't anyone curious how Bowser came up with the Bob-ombs in SMB3? Prior to that they appeared in SMB2... but in Japan that was an entirely different game.

So how did they become canonical Mario enemies?

Seriously, I was disappointed that Bowser Jr pretty much bumped them all off in New Super Mario Bros.

EDIT: Same way Shyguys did maybe? They could've been a past memory stored in his subconscious. At least, that's the explanation I've always gone with.

But wasn't that only AFTER SMB3 was released, as part of Super Mario All-Stars?

That isn't a widespread idea is it? I tend to stay away from Mario fanfics because even for fanfic stndards they tend to be realy stupid and pointless.

Either that or unnessisarily bloody or angsty. Few people seem to want to write a decent lighthearted slightly silly Mario romp.

That's cause they don't have as much fun with Mario as I do, apparently...

I get a better effect when I actually CAN see it as opposed to IMAGINGING it.

Considering that they appeared next in SMW2:YI, a prequel game, set before SMB2, they don't make for strong edvidence. Besides, no reason Mario couldn't dream of real world enemies.

Of course there's got to be a way to bring dreams to reality... Flipside probably could have a gateway to Subcon...

Well, Bobombs showed up next in Mario 3. Then there's Bido that became a regular. Pidgits showed up in Mario World next.

And even Wart made another apperance, although not in a Mario game. She showed up in Link's awakeneing, another game set in a dream world.

I guess they are basing that off of the 1 Super Mario Bros. 3 episode where Luigi was changed into a Koopa by Mario using 1 of the Koopa Kids magic wands and kissed Kootie Pie.

After she becomes 'Mario's Dream Girl'? Yeah.

I did a bit of looking and oddly enough at no point in the Mario cartoons did Mario or Luigi ever use a super mushroom. (Although at none point mario used Super Sushi to grow supr big.

Maybe because of the whole drug thing? We joke about Max Force, but the 80's was all about "Just Say NO"

It's possible, although they didn't seem to have any problem with Mushroom people or mushrooms on pizza.

I don't remember them using the Kuribo Shoe outside of the opening credits and that one episode where Bowser managed to get an endless supply of Mario's power-up items.
