Welcome one and all to the Amico Region, home of the famous Kanto Gym Leader Lt. Surge! Only, given the time period he's not quite Lieutenant yet. This is a world before the creation of the Pokedex, and before Poke Balls were as common as they are today.

Cities and Towns:
1. Brightville
2. Sun City
3. Orchard City
4. Terminus
5. Carolopolis
6. Knightdale
7. Graceland
8. Towassa
9. Bilocci
10. Crecent City

12. Stone City

Locations of Interest:
11. The Manor
13. The Uderground/Ice Tunnels
14. Mt. Granite
15. Sapphire Cave

Pertinent Information

Moves - You may only use level up moves for your Pokemon. There are no TMs, however there are people who can Tutor your Pokemon in the use of TM and Move Tutor moves. Egg Moves are learned at a PokeRanch.
0-3 Badges: You may only use moves with a base power ≤70, unless you've bought an Egg Move or a Move Tutor/TM move. If a move hits multiple times, like Fury Swipes or Double Kick, only moves of base power ≤30 are allowed. Cut and Rock Smash are allowed.
4-7 Badges: No restrictions on the power of your level up moves. All HMs are allowed.
8 Badges: All Egg Moves are allowed. Move Tutor/TMs have to be learned.

Pokemon - Since the PC Box system has yet to be invented, extra Pokemon must be kept at one of the many PokeRanches in the region. As for pets, you lot know the rules by now, but in this region Ice-type Pokemon are extremely rare, so if you want one, I'll be needing a reason why your trainer would have one. Also, for now I'm saying no to Gen 5 Pokemon. That may change later.

EVs - 0-3 Badges/0-2 Emblems: Players may set their own EVs. A maximum of 108 EVs may be set into a single stat.
4-7 Badges/3-4 Emblems: Players may set their own EVs. A maximum of 180 EVs may be set into a single stat.
8 Badges/5 Emblems: Players may set their EVs as they wish.

Level Ranges
Borrowing a rather excellent idea from Notty and Cran, level ranges are as such:
0 Badges/Emblems: 5-10
1 Badge: 10-15
1 Emblem 10-20
2 Badges: 15-20
2 Emblems: 20-30
3 Badges: 20-25
3 Emblems: 30-40
4 Badges: 25-30
4 Emblems: 40-49
5 Badges: 30-35
6 Badges: 35-40
7 Badges: 40-45
8 Badges/5 Emblems: 50+
Everyone starts at level 5, and will level up each time they participate in a battle until they hit the level cap for their Badge/Emblem.

So, for those wanting to join, I'll need a name, a pet, and a hometown/region (if you're a filthy foreigner). By now you lot should know the rules for picking pets. There's just two exceptions: Regional starters are allowed, and you can only have one pet each. Also, No Ice-types unless you're not from around here, due to the rarity of Ice-types in the region.

Characters

raiderrpg - June 25, 2010 11:31 AM (GMT)
And now for my stuffs!

-----
First, the Emblems.

These are somewhat analogous to gym battles, but only not; Emblem masters each focus on a particular Stat.

Attack, Defense, Speed, Special Attack, Special Defense.

Getting these five emblems is more difficult than getting eight badges, but have larger individual rewards.
-----
Rare Candies!

We've decided to do these in a fun way! At least, we hope its fun.

If you manage to find one, then you can level up a single pokemon with it. This pokemon -retains- that level up, even breaking your maximum.

So let's say you use three on a level 50 poke, when you've got eight badges? It's level 53.
-----
And the final note, for now...

When creating a character, you may pick a type. Like Dark, or Fighting, or Fire, etc.

There is a reason for this! But you don't have too, and there are no penalties for -not- doing it.

Well you know I'm in. I'll post my charater and stuff later.

Heh. Another for my list. Hmmm.

Aron or Piplup?

Nifar - June 25, 2010 10:13 PM (GMT)
Totally up to you, though I'd personally go for Piplup. But that's mostly because Empoleon is fucking awesome.

Latewave - June 25, 2010 11:22 PM (GMT)

Right, so. For those curious, the Apricorn Balls are as such:
Fast Ball - Higher catch rate against fast Pokemon and Pokemon who run away.
Love Ball - Higher catch rate when using a Pokemon of the opposite gender.
Friend Ball - Makes caught Pokemon more friendly
Lure Ball - Higher catch rate against Pokemon caught when fishing.
Heavy Ball - Higher catch rate against heavy pokemon.
Moon Ball - Higher catch rate against aliens Pokemon who evolve with Moon Stone.
Level Ball - Higher catch rate against weaker Pokemon.

raiderrpg - June 26, 2010 03:55 PM (GMT)
Kow.

You just love bears.

Don't you?

You just looooooooooooove them.

(( wut no I do not imply anything with this ))

Kow - June 26, 2010 03:56 PM (GMT)

Alright, because I've forgot to mention it in every description of Sun City so far, there's also a Bike Shop in town, selling regular bikes for $2000 each.

Kow - June 28, 2010 09:04 PM (GMT)
Helpful.

raiderrpg - June 29, 2010 11:41 AM (GMT)
Neo! Post waiting for you in Retro. <<;;

neobullseye - June 29, 2010 01:16 PM (GMT)
Normally i wouldn't be this picky in which pokemon i catch, since i can always buy new ones and change my team. But since pokeballs are so rare (Read: Expensive as hell), and it takes quite a while to change your team around, i'll have to be a little more selective than normal... Then again, the difficulty was adjusted properly anyways...

raiderrpg - June 29, 2010 01:23 PM (GMT)
At this time, I'd like to reveal how these Catching Contests work.

Some of them have Pokemon that are rare or impossible to find in Amico- some of them are just easy ways to get common ones.

There's only two or three chances for a player to catch a pokemon in one, and each time you get into the top four, you end up earning a title.

The higher the title, the likelier you'll get a bigger prize.

Unfortunately, the bug contest is now over.

Marcus will get a little prize next time he's at a pokecenter, for his title of one-time Catcher.

Nifar - June 29, 2010 01:30 PM (GMT)
Okay, me and Raider have discussed it, and while moves like Dragon Rage that do 40 damage automatically are technically legal for use this early, they are also incredibly strong. Because of their ability to one-shot essentially everyone, we would like to ask that you hold off on using them until after your second badge, for the sake of fair play.

Of course, if people wish to use those moves, we ask them to be understanding when they find themselves facing opponents 4 or more levels above themselves.

raiderrpg - June 29, 2010 01:32 PM (GMT)
This isn't to say we'll screw you over, just that we can't let a player bowl over the competition -just- yet.

I think my post got missed.
At least it's been a while since i posted it, yet didn't get an update while others after me got multiple. so yeah...

Neo... how would your character know which gender is the right one?

Also, seriously...

You are gonna get zapped here :P

Question

Would the battles that Marcus participated in during the contest count toward leveling? Also, would we level up whether or not we actually won?

EDIT-

Nevermind.

Did you... make an emo character? XD

EDIT: Also, i noticed a problem with your charrie. You picked an ice-type as a starter, yet your character is a native. According to a rule mentioned in the second post, ice-type starters are only allowed to people from "When you're not from around here, due to the rarity of ice-types in this region"

Cran - July 13, 2010 10:58 AM (GMT)
I'm special.

And found a loophole.

Darkpetal has no eyes?
