Title: Kitchen Sink 2: The Sinkening
Description: Because it will rise again!

Just Jon - February 19, 2011 09:13 PM (GMT)
Thus, the end of an era arrives. Time to see if we can break the old record! It'll only take another seven years!

*Sniff* Goodbye old Sink. I propose an internet viking funeral.

RIP Sink 1
Oct. 6, 2004 - Feb. 19, 2011

Alan Bates - February 19, 2011 09:14 PM (GMT)
You could have came up with a better title than that!... Well, maybe not you but I'm sure somebody could have.

Carmichael Micaalus - February 19, 2011 09:15 PM (GMT)
It should be "Kitchen Sink 2: The Sinkening" or "Sink Harder".

I don't think we'll be able to find a boat big enough.

*insert some kind of depressing music here*

So what happens if the old Sink fixes itself somehow?

Can we still set things on fire?

No.

And by no I mean yes.

Man, that thread had been on this forum for longer than me. It was old! Natural causes. If anything on this forum is natural, anyway.

Just Jon - February 19, 2011 09:18 PM (GMT)
2004. Man. I have nephews and cousins younger then that.

Algasir - February 19, 2011 09:19 PM (GMT)
Can we at least get a garbage disposal for this sink?

Damned apocalypses and their killing so many people...

I don't think it can.

I think in this instance, it's not the forum breaking. I think we hit the max post count. We have exactly two to the SIXTEEN posts in there (including the opening post). That it hits an exponent of two at that high of a number can't be a coincidence.

My god... two the the fucking sixteenth power.

(also, I would have called it Kitchen Sink 2: Just When You Thought it was Safe to Turn Back on the Water)

Algasir - February 19, 2011 09:20 PM (GMT)
216, even. :P

I still blame Melty for this.

There are a few posts in there that aren't visible (and I don't know if they're showing up on the number of replies) except when someone makes a new post.

edit: Theory proven! The number of replies listed doesn't go up, although you can still make posts (it's just nearly impossible to see them).

Alan Bates - February 19, 2011 09:23 PM (GMT)
FZ isn't around. We could blame him.

...

Now if he WAS around, we could blame him AND beat him up for it!

Notty - February 19, 2011 09:24 PM (GMT)
Rest in peace, Sink 1.

You, who had enough spam in you to cure world hunger.

And then causing it again after it gives everyone who ate it the shits.

Cyrus - February 19, 2011 09:26 PM (GMT)
Ah, but the posts ARE visible. I saw your post by clicking on the "view latest post" button (or whatever that's called). But the number of replies doesn't go up. And there's no page # of the topic selected at the bottom. I still contend that we broke the number barrier.

mordain - February 19, 2011 09:29 PM (GMT)
...christ

I edited Cyrus' post by accident

I'm a fucking moron

My reply:

---

You could see it by clicking on that button because I made a new post to test the theory. :P

Trying it again doesn't work for me. Clicking "Last post by" just gives me the 'official' last post.

Algasir - February 19, 2011 09:30 PM (GMT)
I'd propose moving the old sink to The Archives, but it may break the forum or anyone's computer that tried.

Cyrus - February 19, 2011 09:31 PM (GMT)

Sure, but you can't get that except by manipulating the URL directly. :P

I still maintain that the Sink was a successful experiment.

there, you sycophants, the title changed some!

Also, Alan was the last real post. Thus, HE IS THE KILLER!

edit: This has led me to one inescapable conclusion: I need to get to 2^16+1 posts. I must defeat the sink.

LuppyLuptonium - February 19, 2011 10:01 PM (GMT)
This thread should be renamed "The Shiny New Kitchen Sink" with the subtitle, "Because we clogged the old one"

TrekTek - February 19, 2011 10:05 PM (GMT)
We need a plumber to fix the sink! Quick get Magus!

Ou des - February 19, 2011 10:25 PM (GMT)
What happens if you merge the old sink with this new one?

Like a ... post count graft or something.

It would still be broken? :P

And probably also what Algasir said as well. I wouldn't even want to try putting the Sink in the dumpster or something.

Spriteless Girl - February 19, 2011 10:52 PM (GMT)
I think breaking your computer is worth mod-dom. Someone volunteer.

ShadowWarriorLuke - February 19, 2011 10:53 PM (GMT)
It's really not. *glares at the piece of crashing junk*

Algasir - February 19, 2011 10:54 PM (GMT)
I think my browser would break before my computer, personally.

If I'm successful, do I get to stay a mod? :P

*banned*

Aww...

Zap Rowsdower - February 20, 2011 12:13 AM (GMT)
"Clogged" the old one? It was filled with a pile of SPAM so tall we had to saw a hole through the floor of the room above the kitchen to accommodate it.

I would volunteer, but I think we should get a couple thousand pages on this baby first before we try merging.

mordain - February 20, 2011 12:16 AM (GMT)
...'the floor of the room above the kitchen'...?

Dude, we were catching high-orbit satellites on that thing.
