Alan Bates - December 30, 2004 03:40 AM (GMT)
Battle 1:
Terry Bogart (from fatal Fury) and
Mia (from Golden Sun) vs
Abobo (from Double Dragon) and
Ganon (from the legend of Zelda)

VS

Battle 2:
Yuna (from Final fantasy X-2) and
Simon Belmont (from Castlevania) vs
Rydia (from Final fantasy 4) and
the Prince of Persia (from Prince of Persia)

VS
Zap Rowsdower - December 30, 2004 03:49 AM (GMT)
Round One:Can't comment. don't know half.
Round two: Prince goes down like a sack of potatoes, Rydia summons Leviathan, killing Simon and Yuna.
Notty - December 30, 2004 03:52 AM (GMT)
Fight 1
Abobo can't even stand up to some street punks, much less a trained fighter like Terry, so he goes down quick, and quite honestly, I don't see the big G doing much to stop it, believing that he doesn't need the brainless musclehead to win, anyway.
Terry vs Ganon is a bit tougher for Terry, but with Mia constantly healing him, and with her own magic, Djinn, and summoning, I think they can beat Ganon into unconsciousness.
Winners-Terry and Mia
Fight 2
Yuna gets blasted right off the bat by Rydia, and the Prince gets KO'd by Belmont, leaving Rydia to fight Simon.
Rydia's not got the health to beat Simon, and has already used up a lot of her magic blasting Yuna. So Simon wins.
Winners: Yuna and Simon
Deadicons - December 30, 2004 03:53 AM (GMT)
Braket 1:
Mia keeps Gannon busy while Terry takes abbob out quickly. Then Mia and Terry take Gannon down.
Braket 2:
Can't comment at this time.
Cran - December 30, 2004 03:57 AM (GMT)
Fight 1: Can't give an arguement.
Fight 2: Can't give too good of an arguement, as I've yet to play Pershia or Castlevannia, but Rydia's summons are about all she'd need to take down Yuna.
I'd guess there would be quite a skirmish between Rydia and Simon (I'm assuming from the other comments that Prince isn't good enough to bother with), but I imagine Rydia's magic and summons would eventually prevail over the vampire hunter.
A winner is: Rydia and Prince
Alan Bates - December 30, 2004 03:59 AM (GMT)
Prince is an old fashioned swashbuckler swordfighter. While he may not have the power of the others, he can dodge and weave like no body's buisness.
Zap Rowsdower - December 30, 2004 04:00 AM (GMT)
Plus Simon's only skill that would affect her, his whip, she has also.
Edit:and a spell from Yuna and he is down.
Notty - December 30, 2004 04:00 AM (GMT)
Kinda hard to dodge or weave when your feet are bound together by a whip....
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 04:02 AM (GMT)
Cause, y'know, axes, daggers, and giant crosses just bounce off people...
Ganon has enough strength to send people flying from every hit, he's not that slow, and he has the reach gained from the trident. When Terry takes down Abobo, he's going down from a blow from Ganon. Ganon then takes down Mia one-on-one easily.
Notty - December 30, 2004 04:04 AM (GMT)
If Terry goes down, Mia revives him, and the uses the standby Djinni to summon against Ganon.
Zap Rowsdower - December 30, 2004 04:06 AM (GMT)
Mia has uber ice magic, and can summon the god of the north wind for a FF style summon atack. god>one drawing power from a god. Even without the summoning, she can encase him in a block of ice. He has ever really faced a mage before, so will most likely go down fast due to low magic tolerence.
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 04:09 AM (GMT)
...do we allow revives here?
Deadicons - December 30, 2004 04:10 AM (GMT)
Plus Terry can take down Mars who at least looked strong enough to take on Gannon.
Edit:
It is kinda hard to tell how strong Mars was because he only fought Terry in the anime.
Zap Rowsdower - December 30, 2004 04:10 AM (GMT)
I guess as long as it is an inate ability and not an item/materia/etc. it should be okay....
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 04:11 AM (GMT)
Never fought a mage=low magic tolerance? What logic does that come from? He commands Wizrobes, he USES magic, so he's used to it. And what do you call Zelda?
Zap Rowsdower - December 30, 2004 04:13 AM (GMT)
A white mage. And by low tolerence, I mean that because he has never seen a mage as a serious threat, he hasn't trained to develop much defence agianst it or adjusted his form for it with the triforce of power. He has trained against the power of light, but never all encompassing cold before. Defending on the Ganon, (oot Ganon) one all encompasing ice spell would hit the weak spot so hard it'd kill. Also, he'd be so busy with the source of the unfarmiliar kind of magic that he would not notice Terry sneaking up behind him.
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 04:17 AM (GMT)
It looks to me as if we're using pre-OOT Ganon...
Alan Bates - December 30, 2004 04:18 AM (GMT)
Opinnions on the first fight. Ganon is used to giving orders and Abobo is used to following them. Ganon orders Abobo to take down Terry. granted, Abobo's not that good, but he's still tough enough to keep Terry occupied for a while. While they're fighting, Ganon turns his sights on Mia. Now I don't know too much about her, but Ganon is pretty much an ubermage and a huge hulking monstrocity. he'd press the attack hard and fast until she was down. That leaves a battered Terry vs a worn down Ganon. terry is good, and he did take down a god of war, but Ganon fights with tricks that Terry has never seen before.
My money here is on the bad guys.
For the second match, The Prince and Simon go at it. ...okay, actually it more like the Prince is running and dodging and Simon is chasing him down. The prince will loose, but he's fast enough to stay one step ahead of Simon for a while.
That leaves Yuna and Rydia to face off. Right away Yuna is at a disadvantage. He's likely to freeze up when she sees Rydia summoning an "aeon" and it won't be easy to recover from that. Comicn back from chasing downa dn taking down the prince of Persia, Simon is confronted with Rydia and her summoned monsters. If it was just summons, Simon would have what it takes to win, but add to that Rydias offensive magic and status affecting spells and Simon meets the Reapaer again for the last time.
Zap Rowsdower - December 30, 2004 04:18 AM (GMT)
The rest of my arguement still aplies. All encompasing ice and an attack from a god are two things he will be quite vulnerable to.
Cran - December 30, 2004 04:18 AM (GMT)
Doesn't Link get some magic weapons that have no affect on Ganon? I'm no Zelda expert, but I think only light arrows, silver arrows, and the Master Sword have any affect (ignore the megaton hammer and biggoron sword).
Din's fire, ice arrows, and fire arrows do nothing, and I think the ice and fire rods are ineffective.
Then again, all encompassing ice is a different arguement all together that I don't want to step in.
MikePB - December 30, 2004 04:18 AM (GMT)
I would suggest let most abilities go into play... this *IS* tag-team after all.
Bout one: I think Abobo'll go down fast, as was said, he can't stand up to some street punks or giant frogs.
I think Gannon will get a few hits in, but I gotta give the win to Mia and Terry
Bout Two: While I don;t know any of Yuna's skills from X-2, aside from Super-Costume Change, I think a Bahumat summon by Rydia will take Yuna out and weaken Simon, who has take care of Prince... After that, It's a close-to even match between the two whip-weilders. While Rydia keeps Simon busy with her whip skills, all the while covertly casting Bio, putting Simon down for th count.
Winners: Rydia and Prince of Persia
Notty - December 30, 2004 04:23 AM (GMT)
Mia has the stamina and the abilties to stall Ganon out long enough for her to get behind Terry after he's beaten Abobo.
Then with healing and magic and summons, in addition to Terry's brute force, they can take out Ganon.
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 04:38 AM (GMT)
...Mia can only use her ice attack once, right? Then Ganon breaks free of it (brute strength, magic, whatever) and procedes to beat her down...
Alan Bates - December 30, 2004 04:40 AM (GMT)
Assuming that Ganon doesn't go intangible, or telpeorts away. Also, while terry is a good fighter, Ganon is a good fighter with a large pointy weapon. That tends to make a difference.
Notty - December 30, 2004 04:41 AM (GMT)
...um, no.
Mia can incase Ganon in ice as long as she has Psynergy remaining.
And like I said earlier, Mia can not only heal herself, she can make to where Ganon can only do a limited amount of damage to herself and Terry.
MikePB - December 30, 2004 04:41 AM (GMT)
Right, but I don't think Terry will take all THAT long to take aout Abobo.{edit: to GJ}
Notty - December 30, 2004 04:43 AM (GMT)
Let see...Boreas(God of the North Wind summon) takes 4 Water Djinni to summon, and Mia can hold 9 Djinni, so...she can summon twice, and then she'll need to wait for the Djinn to recover.
But I'm fairly certain that two Boreas' in addition to Terry beating on Ganon would be more than enough.
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 04:44 AM (GMT)
I thought the Ice attack thing you were talking about was the attack you get for splitting off your dog-diety-puppet-magic thingy...
It's been a while since I've played the game...
Ou des - December 30, 2004 05:39 AM (GMT)
Bah no sonic!
Humbug!
Tarnation!
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 05:40 AM (GMT)
Ganon can teleport and become ethereal... assuming the first one hits, all he has to do is phase out, and the second one will NEVER hit...
Deadicons - December 30, 2004 05:42 AM (GMT)
Terry uses Ki for most of his attacks. I am not sure but I think that can hurt Gannon even if he is in etheral form.
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 05:42 AM (GMT)
Cyrus - December 30, 2004 06:43 AM (GMT)
spirit energy hurts things in spirit form, GJ.
Here's how I see it:
Quickly starting off, abobo falls down a hole. Then, probably underestimating ganon, terry charges in and gets pretty hurt. Fortunately, he has mia there, who can heal him. It's a long, and very hard fight, since ganon is near invulnerable to things besides light arrows and silver arrows, etc, but eventually, he'll go down.
As for the second fight, since cinematically Yuna would be a gunner, or maybe a songstress, she doesn't have near the magical ability to defend against Rydia's summons, and as someone said before, she'd first be caught off guard, but even though she'd go down pretty quickly, if she was a gunner she could get in a few rapid-shots to weaken rydia. Meanwhile, prince and simon are duking it out, prince dodging and simon using his many weapons, but when rydia finishes up yuna, she'd be able to come aid the maneuverable prince. prince would go down, but rydia would likely have equaled the amount of damage she had taken to simon. So, you'd have a weak simon, and a weak rydia, but since magic is generally longer ranged, I'd give this one close to rydia.
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 06:58 AM (GMT)
...why is everyone discounting Abobo so much? He may not be able to take down Terry, but he's not going to suicide  He's going to be able to distract whoever goes after him for a while.
And who says Ganon's in "spirit form"?
Cyrus - December 30, 2004 07:03 AM (GMT)
that's what an etheral form is.
Grandmaster Jogurt - December 30, 2004 07:05 AM (GMT)
Fine, incorporeal, intangible, WHATEVER. There's no sign he goes into "spirit form" or whatever, only that he's invisible and unaffected by attacks.
Immolation - December 30, 2004 09:05 AM (GMT)
Is this a fight to the death or a fight to the last man standing?
Furthermore, Would incasing your opponet be counted as a win?
mordain - December 30, 2004 09:07 AM (GMT)
Only if they couldn't escape, which is unlikely...
Notty - December 30, 2004 09:07 AM (GMT)
Fight to unconsciousness, death is also allowed.
EDIT: It was also stated in Kain(vamp, not Dragoon) vs Somebody, that if intangiblity runs too long, that character is DQ'd.
