Title: London 2012
MFD - July 28, 2012 02:42 PM (GMT)
Hooooly sheeit, guys.
I don't usually watch, like, ever (I don't like sports, and I especially don't like short inspirational vignettes about overcoming obstacles to compete in the Olympics.
But there's so much to talk about. Like Romneyshambles (his two gaffes over there). And the opening ceremony I heard was insane.
First, politics! Romney's an idiot for knocking 2012 while IN LONDON. No doubt about that (he said he had concerns about how the Games were being run). Cameron retorted, "Well, yes, there have been problems. We're holding the Games in our busiest and largest city. If we held them in the middle of nowhere, we would be fine!" (Like, say, Salt Lake City).
Also, uh... did James Bond escort the Queen to the opening ceremony, including a parachute jump into the stadium? Followed by a cabal of Mary Poppinses vanquishing a 40-foot tall Voldemort?

I watched the flag being carried and the torch lighting.

I would just like to say that any number of sports that I don't care about are infinitely more entertaining in Olympic form. Two years ago, I was a religious watcher of Olympic Hockey. This year, two minutes of volleyball had me hooked.
I cannot say enough how much I enjoy the Olympics for existing.

I don't know why Olympic volleyball is so much more interesting than normal volleyball.

Having not seen normal volleyball in a competitive sense, I might be full of shit on that front.
But I cannot watch the NHL despite loving Olympic Hockey.

I had to miss the sudden death for the gold in fencing, because I had to go to work.

Damn it, I missed fencing?
That was the event I wanted to see most. Olympics ruined.

I just missed foils, I don't know about the rest. I can't even find it on youtube after 5 minutes of searching 11 hours later. God damn I'm spoiled.
