Well, after waiting several months for the RPs I'm already part of to do... anything, I got bored and decided to do this! So this is how it works-

Players choose their name, age, grade (if applicable), elemental affinity and preferred weapon(s) and persona

You guys can choose any preexisting Megaten creatures as a Persona or make it up, just give a description if you tweak the normal appearance

Also, I promise a higher quality of writing for the actual RP

So, any takers?

EDIT- LONG PAGE! WILL FIX LATER

Some things to consider about your character and main persona

PCs, NPCs, and enemies are all subject to their own Elemental Affinity
Personas are once again divided into Arcana, meaning that even though they all have their own strengths and weaknesses, no one persona is completely subjected to one element. It is advised that you model you main persona after your personal affinity

ok, since the idea of only six elements bored me, there are now nine to choose from (twelve in all)

Character Elements

Fire©-Basic, clashes with the least elements
Strong-Ice
Weakness-Water
Boosts-Fire, Thunder, Wind, Nuclear
Ice© -Has the most weaknesses, but is healed by all Water and Wind skills
Strong-
Weakness-Fire, Force, Nuclear
Boosts-Ice, Water, Wind, Dark
Thunder©-Isn’t affected by Force skills, closely related to wind
Strong-Water, Wind(2x)
Weakness- Wind(2x)
Boosts-Thunder, Light, Wind
Wind©-Not affected by earth skills, closely related to Thunder
Strong-Thunder(2x)
Weakness-Thunder(2x)
Boosts- Wind, Force, Ice, Heal, Thunder
Light©-No longer instant kills (on lower level skills at least), Often blinds
Strong- Dark
Weakness-Dark
Boosts- Light, Thunder, Fire, Heal
Dark©-No longer instant kills (learns to faster than light), Often silences, can not use Heal skills
Strong- Light
Weakness- Light
Boosts- Dark, Fire, Ice, Nuclear
Water©-Good with healing skills
Strong- Fire
Weakness- Thunder, Nuclear
Boosts- Water, Ice, Wind, Heal(2x)
Earth©-Heavy damage, dose not effect Wind, nearly impervious to physical damage, hits all enemies
Strong- Nuclear
Weakness- Force(3x)
Boosts- Earth, Fire, Force
Force©-Heavy damage, no area attacks, dose not effect Thunder
Strong- Ice, Earth(3x)
Weakness-
Boosts- Force, Earth, Wind, Dark

About resistances and weaknesses – when you change persona’s your resistances and weaknesses mix… it works like this- 1=resistance -1=weakness 2=block 3=drain/repel
1+1=2, 2+1=3 and so on
1+-1=0(nothin)
-1+-1=-1
Like that

the general idea of the Pesona games is young men and wemon (usualy highschool age) fighting monsters and demons called shadows through the use of weapons and psychic represntations of themselves that are loosely based on characters from mythology

basically, its anime

Summoning Personas will be done threw the use of envokers again, but not same ones as last time. Sorry but you wont get a chance to blow your own brains out for a while. You will be able to gain new personas that can be met in battle and recruited threw conversation skills reminiscent of SMT3N. Personas no longer have individual levels and will learn new moves (and may become incompatible with you) based on the way you level your stats.

Speaking of which-

5 battle stats and 4 social

you be given 7 of pre game points for each to spend as you feel
STR- Physical damage
MAG- Magic effectiveness
AGG- Speed and dodge
END-Defense
LUC-...how nice I am ...

you get 5 points to distribute at-the-get-go for Social Stats

COURAGE
INTELLECT
CHARM
PERCEPTION

other stats-
HP-don't lose it all or you'll die, Physical Persona skills use a little of this
SP-(sanity pionts) magic depletes this, lose it all and you might hurt yourself

When you guys are thinking up your Persona's Please keep in mind that all Personae DO EVENTUALY EVOLVE. atleast once.

Arcana Overview- to give you an idea of what kind of Persona go in which Arcana. THIS IS IN NO WAY ABSOLUTE!
- Fool (0)
Fool Personas are fairly well-rounded. They are not stacked towards any
particular focus.

- Magician (I)
As you might expect, Personas of the Magician Arcana tend to be spellcasters.
Furthermore, they are inclined towards an affinity for the element of Fire
and a weakness to the element of Ice.

- Priestess (II)
Priestess Personas also focus on magic. They are somewhat split between
emphases on Ice and Recovery magic, and are generally weak against Fire.

- Empress (III)
Empress Personas are like Priestess Personas, with a fairly similar spread
between Ice and Recovery. They also have tendency to use debuffs. You might call the Empress Arcana a stronger
version of Priestess

- Emperor (IV)
The Emperor Arcana is as close as you can get to being an Electricity-based
Arcana, with all-around decent offensive capabilities, although somewhat
skewed towards magic.

- Hierophant (V)
Hierophant is a very balanced Arcana. Hierophant Personas have well-rounded
stats and do not tend towards any single element; instead, support and
passive skills are more prevalent. In general, Hierophants are not exactly
offensive powerhouses, but are fairly useful regardless.

- Lovers (VI)
Lovers Personas are generally healing specialists, with a decent spread of
various other skills. Nothing much more to say about them. Or maybe I'm just
lazy.

- Chariot (VII)
The Chariot Arcana is one of three Arcana with a clear focus on physical
skills. Since there are
relatively few Personas with a physical focus, as opposed to the wealth of
those focused on magic, Chariots are going to be of help to any brawler-
oriented character. Note that
Chariots are rather lacking in terms of Pierce skills, and are split fairly
evenly between Slash and Strike skills.

- Justice (VIII)
Justice Personas are Light specialists. They are all weak against Dark
attacks, so you're essentially nullifying half of potential instant-kill
attacks in exchange for making yourself more vulnerable to the other half. As
far as other skills go, there is a fairly even spread in terms of physical,
magic, and healing skills. Justice is another decent all-around Arcana.

- Hermit (IX)
Hermits are a bit different from everyone else, which befits the Arcana name.
They tend to lean a little bit towards Bad Status skills and debuffs, which
make them fairly specialized. They don't have many chances to shine, but they
can turn a character into a decent support fighter.

- Fortune (X)
Fortune is quite obviously the Wind Arcana. There is no need for any sort of
complex analysis here.

- Strength (XI)
Strength is the second physical Arcana. It should be noted that Strength
Personas focus almost exclusively on Slash skills.

- Hanged Man (XII)
Staying power is the name of the game when it comes to Hanged Man Personas.
They comprise the only Arcana with a distinctly defensive focus, with high
Endurance stats across the board. Hanged Man is kind of like a
sturdier version of Hierophant, but with less offense.

- Death (XIII)
No one should be surprised that Death Personas specialize in the Dark element
and are generally weak against Light.

- Temperance (XIV)
Temperance Personas are good offensive casters, covering Fire, Ice, and
Electricity, with a bit of leaning towards Ice.

- Devil (XV)
Devils specialize in Bad Status and also dabble in Dark skills. Given their
implied origin, they are generally strong against Fire. Naturally, they fare
poorly against Light skills.

- Tower (XVI)
Tower is the third physical-based Arcana. Personas in this group are more
or less offensive powerhouses, with plenty of strong Slash and Pierce skills
and an occasional offensive spell for flavor.

- Star (XVII)
Star is another strong all-around Arcana Offensive
spells trend towards either Fire or Wind.

- Moon (XVIII)
Moon Personas have a great
spread of offensive skills, whether they be physical or magic, but neglect defense somewhat.

- Sun (XIX)
You could consider Sun to be a magic version of Justice. Both Arcana shrug
off Light attacks and are weak to dark attacks. However, Sun Personas
generally eschew wielding Light attacks of their own in favor of a diverse
body of general offensive spells.

I left out World, Judgment, and Aeon(?) for a reason

Stats:

STR: 3
MAG: 3
AGI: 2

LUC: 2

COURAGE: 3
INTELLECT: 3

Background: Blaine is a pretty average kid. His grades aren't too bad, pretty average to be honest. He has a bit of a "tough guy" attitude, however. This is mostly to offset the fact that he's rather short, and that his face is, for lack of a better word, cute. Despite his shortcomings (no pun intended), he's actually rather strong, and isn't afraid of throwing a punch at anyone who calls him "cute".

Sam graduated from Arkham High last year, and is spending this year performing odd jobs, in order to save up enough money to go to the nearby Miskatonic University.

Newb

PERCEPTION: 3

The class clown, Robert's strength lies not in physical power or astounding intelligence, but in his ability to quickly make friends and convince other people to pool their resources in a more effective way than if they had been left to their own devices. Any group project he is assigned to consistently gets his group a better grade than any other group, and for this reason, he has developed a reputation as a smart guy who you want to partner up with. He does his best to dissuade people from thinking he's a genius, but he doesn't mind the part where people want to hang out with him.
Robert is also a bit of a prankster, but somehow, astoundingly, he has never been caught. Some twist of fate has always protected him at the last second.

His brown hair is tied back in a ponytail, and he has a tendency towards black jeans and t-shirts, as well as a leather jacket. He has the occasional smoke, when he can, but never on school grounds; he has a little respect for authority, even if it isn't always obvious

Backround: Jaded, kinda emo, and a can be a bit creepy sometimes, though to his credit, he really tries not to be all those things, or at least tries not to show it. He's still extremely grumpy, though. He's a bit of a space case, and loses touch with reality at times. Likes fights a little too much, although he's not sadistic enough to prolong them after they should be over. His job is to *stop* fights, after all. Not really a bad person in the moral sense (Well, maybe not, he tries not to be), though flawed in many others, and still ugly on the inside. Wants to be a policeman, and eventually a S.W.A.T. member. A strong sense of duty is one of his redeeming qualities, and one of the few that one doesn't have to look hard to find in him. Making the obvious joke off of his name will make him mad, though. So don't do it.

His Main sports (quarterly) are Football, Wrestling, Baseball, and Soccer. Year round he studies Martial Arts. In Middle School he was on the Archery team but gave it up for Baseball. He won't be the first to stop a fight or a bullying but will step in when things are taken a bit to far.

COURAGE: 6
INTELLECT: 1
CHARM: 2
PERCEPTION: 1

Background: Paul makes up for the fact that his parents beat him every night for the last fifteen years by taking it out on everyone smaller and weaker than him. Paul is a bully, plain and simple. He's also one of the stars of the football team. And the baseball team. And the lacrosse team. But not soccer, that's for sissy unamericans. So watch out, nerds, you're getting shoved into a locker, no matter how small.
Paul is the son of a lawyer (mother) and a doctor (father). His relative lack of intelligence has been a constant shame to them, which is why they take it out on him. They are, however, well respected in the community and no-one would really suspect them as the kind of parents who would abuse their child.

About Leveling up- When you gain enough exp to level up you are given 3 points spend on your battle stats as you feel
you will also get 2 bonus stat increases based on what Arcana of persona you used the the MOST during that level.

Any background/story information we should know of beforehand? The only Persona games I've played are 3 and 4, so I'm not used to any of the older Persona/Megaten games.

Nothing serious I can think of (sence I've only played 3 and 2) however elements work differently than usual

I'll post some more of the details tomorrow/later tonight

Did 2 use the Pierce/Slash/Strike physical elements like Persona 3? I know Persona 4 rolled all the physical elements into one.

Well, in any case:

Name: Blaine Dettori
Age: 15

The combat system's also a bit different, but that's mostly due to the fact that we had to change somethings for it to translate properly.

Yes, I'm a bit more involved than your average player, but I'm only an assistant, at best. For the most part, I'm just going to be playing. However, I can also answer questions, if Sandy's not around when you ask.

Edit: It should also be mentioned that this one doesn't take place in Japan.

Also, while you can pick a normally high level Persona as your starter, Odin, for example, it will be scaled down appropriately to level one.

Edit 2: Yes, P2 did. So does this one, for that matter.

It doesn't? Aww...I spent all that time trying to come up with a decent Japanese name... I'm bad at making up names. Oh well, I'll just change it later. I'm still pretty undecided on what I'm going for.

You can keep the name. Be a transfer student, or something if you want to keep it. Hell, you could still be born in America. It's not like there aren't any Japanese-Americans that are in high school.

I can't be a transfer student! That would make me the main character! I would have to be born under the Fool arcana and run around all day trying to make everyone happy, all while organizing the equipment for my team, and trying to better my own personality! Fuck that! tongue.gif

Besides, I already got what I want. I was tempted to go with OROBAS!, but I went with my old friend in Persona 3, Oberon.

Oh, one thing that should be mentioned is the fact that you can't pick an Persona of an element that opposes your own. For example, no picking Pyro Jack if your element is Ice.

I'm not saying you can't use Oberon, that's for you and Sandy's big chart o' elements to figure out, I'm just mentioning it because I don't remember jack about Oberon, and I thought that maybe something you and Sandy may want to look into.

Edit: Apparently this isn't a problem for Algy, because Oberon apparently already uses electricity, but it still stands as a rule for everyone else. If you're not sure if two elements are compatible, because believe me, it's complicated, ask us, and We'll tell you. Or rather, Sandy will either tell you, or tell me, and I'll tell you.

What can you tell me that will get me able to understand enough to play?

Does it have to be real mythology, or can it be made-up real-sounding mythology?

Actually... nevermind, I'm totally calling dibs on Puck regardless.

I've never played a Shin Megami Tensei title, but I've been looking around at them 'cuz they seem fun.

I'll wait for the game mechanics to be posted before I make my decision on this.

Dr. Wiley has surrendered. Mega Man has saved the planet from destruction. But will it last!!!

"Think about it, mate: legends! When has a legend ever not been true, huh? HUH?!"

--Marine, Sonic Rush Adventure

"Good Morniii--AGH! I can't do it! I don't wanna be cute! I wanna be a boy!"

--Ouran High School Host Club; Haruhi's English Voice Actor messing around.

woof indeed

Luppy- I played the Wii version.... It's a really fun ride. scantilly clad girls fighting zombies with Katanas
Kow-*Tells an inappropriate joke about other wrist pains, wiis, and scantily clad women*
Nifar- Usually you're able to come up with an actual joke. You off your game, man?
Luppy- quite so.... and masturbating apparantly

My favorite character from BlazBlue is Nifar. No, really.

Just one question. Do we have to use evokers? Because I liked it much better in Persona 4 where they didn't have to "shoot" themselves in the head.

I didn't make it clear, but the main envokers that you guys will be using aren't the same as 3's. As to what they are... I'll tell you later. I am gonig to include both of the types of summoning from 3 and 4 but you'll have to find thoose in game

Fair enough. As long as we are forced to put a gun to our heads I'm fine. I hated those things
