I agree with Spriteless on the visual side of the argument.
However, I should note when I read, I attach a voice to each character. With the image on the right, I 'heard' the voice from the cartoons, whereas the image on the left was more of a meek, generic voice. Don't know if this observation helps, just my two cents. -------------------- Check out my 1up blog!
