Once, I believe. In the summer of 1998. Not a particularly nice time. Car bomb went off when I was in town. Horrible experience, but I came out pretty lucky. Guy I was standing next to had to have his leg amputated, I came aways with some injuries down the left side of my body (a bunch of scards are still there), a few bits of shrapnel, and a shattered bone in my left foot.
Ever since I've been very careful (even though I could never have predicted that), because I never want to have to eat that rubbery hospital food again! |

Closest for me was when I was really, really little (maybe three years old) and I would get fever spikes. Like, crazy high fevers - 105~106°F (40~40.5°C for you silly Celsius folks).
They would happen periodically. I'm not sure why I got them, but I know it happened at least three times and I was put on some pretty heavy medication for them. I don't know if it was really life threatening, but that's the worst thing I can recall, off the top of my head. -------------------- Live and learn - or die and teach by example.

Hrmm, answered the poll wrong, because only one thing came to mind at first.
2 As a pre-kindergardener, I tried to open the drawer the Commodore 64 (computer) was kept in, and the entire shelf fell on me. The weight was such I could not breath to scream. The noise wasn't much, because this little girl softened the fall. I fell out of a tree once, and got a concussion and some scrapes, the kid I was playing tag with (yes, we played tag in trees) ran away without telling my parents, so I don't know how long I was out. -------------------- At any given moment it's hard to remember the headspace of every other given moment. But I live in space a lot.

I think it's been about three.
Nearly drowned when I was three during the only visit I ever remember having to see my brother. Nearly drowned again while I was at the river with my cousins. We were playing... a catapult game, I can't remember the name of it. Get on someone's shoulders, they sink down into the water and come up real fast, flinging the person on their shoulder's off. Nearly hit my head on the little island area in the middle of the swimming area and then I couldn't find my way back to the surface for whatever reason. That water is dirty and I'm guessing I nearly did a backflip into the water or some shit with how disoriented I was. Was hanging upside down from the recliner for whatever reason and fell smack on my head. If the expression on my mom's face told anything, I'm pretty sure my neck looked weird during the small crash. Probably came real close to snapping my neck. Oh, I was sitting in our old truck on a steep incline. It started rolling towards the highway. That would have been really nasty, as cars coming from either direction would have hit the sides of the truck. :\ At 40 miles an hour. I'm lucky my mother noticed before it could get to the road >______>; |

Once I had a 107 degree fever.
And another time I was almost swept out to sea by the undertow. -------------------- Dwarves are just small bundles of beard and booze and hate.
