Alex doesn't need to even the odds. The odds are already on his side under Videoland rules. It's Ryan who's trying to break the rules, all Alex really has to do to win is let Schrodinger do his work. If all he wanted was the final showdown, he could filibuster, wait for the cat to clear the way, and finish this. So no, he has an ulterior motive for giving Ryan a good honest piece of his mind (even if he *is* holding things back, he's also revealing a *lot*.
Alex gave us a huge clue how this was going to go when he punched Boogerman in the boys. The Gamemaster's power is to give people what they deserve. But if that's the case, then in the final analysis, how do you establish what someone deserves? Simple. By exposing their personality and letting them pretty much judge themselves. if Ryan wants to put himself past the point of redemption, so be it. If he wants to try and find a redemption for himself at the last minute and get out of the fight, well, so be it again. And if by some miracle he did prove himself the superior Gamemaster and WON the fight, well, suddenly he's armed with all the information Alex didn't have when he got started, so that's a point in his favor, and could be something Alex had to do as well. Either way, Videoland is left with a stronger Gamemaster. This post has been edited by Dojji on May 6 2012, 11:33 AM |
