The Emo Thread, Let's pretend it's SRS BZNSS

My sister driving my parents into financial ruin is far from a pleasant thing to watch... especially since, while I am on a path to being a financial juggernaut about a year from now (finally handled debt incurred to parents for car damage, and school debt), there is little I can do immediately. Hopefully they can hold out until then. Preferably with my sister and her kids in low-income housing by then, so I am not feeding her dependency.

Today is definitely a two eclair day.

Car accident.

Both my grandparents have broken legs.

Frankly, I don't think my grandpa will be able to walk again, since he could barely walk as it is.

My grandfather could barely walk, but ever since they replaced his knees he's more spry than I am. So I have a little faith in medical science in these areas.

Supposedly he might be recovering? I keep getting conflicting information.

Fingers crossed he gets through it.

The fiance and I have been unable to see each other since my miraculous return.

And that's going to stay the case until therapy agrees otherwise.

When will that be? Probably six months.

So we decided to take a step back.

Did I just completely fuck up my big chance at happiness with a woman?

I dunno. She has free will to, maybe you both did? Taking a step back would not ruin things though. If you wouldn't redo the engagement then maybe it wouldn't be wise to get married.

I feel awkward saying anything since I don't know much about it, though.

I have the promise ring sitting on my dresser next to her picture.

While it may not feel like it right this second, the thing to remember is as long as you're still alive, there will always be another chance. Important things will often require you fighting tooth and nail for, and more often than not will be more of a war than just a battle.

Taking a step back isn't always a bad thing; our generation does tend to lean towards instant gratification, but sometimes a delay is necessary. A perfect relationship doesn't mean there are no problems; it means that at the end of a hardship, you come out intact and stronger. Right now, this is one of your hardships - is this person worth the pain? If so, then fight through it; once it's over, you'll both be stronger and closer.

I'm sorta wishing my brother would take a step back. Don't get me wrong, he and his fiance seem to be great for each other. But he's a year out of high school and she just graduated this spring. Both of them are headed for college degrees. Even with my parents supporting them, I can't help but visualize disaster around every corner with them rushing into things...

But then, I suppose marrying at that age is nothing new. Just because I waited 'till I was 26 doesn't mean he has to. I'm just paranoid.

So, the other day I received a portable SNES system in the mail. Has it's ups and downs, but overall a positive experience.

...However, last night I was playing Super Mario RPG on it, and decided to hit the reset button instead of just turning the system on and off again. The game wouldn't start back up properly, and after numerous re-inserts and blowing in an attempt to do so, I found that all of my save files for the game were erased.

I know it's not REALLY a big deal, since I've constantly deleted and replayed the game like probably a hundred times since elementary school, but.... damn.
