I seem to remember we used to have a thread like this, back in the day. Couldn't find it, nor could I really be bothered to look past four pages, so I started a new one.

Anyway, it's twenty to 3:00 CST, and a blizzard is brewing, and every time I close my eyes, they pop right back open. I'm randomly surfing and checking my email.

What do YOU do when you can't enjoy slumber's sweet embrace?

Actually didn't count that... that was more of a "oh geeze I'm tired"

This is a "holy shit, why can't I sleep?"

Or... not. Whatever. Kill it or not, just trying to drum up conversation.

I just assumed that was the thread you were looking for. >.> It's the only sleep related thread that I can recall, anyway.

Anyway, when I *really* can't sleep I just keep laying there, or walk around the house. I stay away from the computer because that will just keep me up longer.

Meh, my computer is by my bed anyway, for my music. Sometimes just lying there makes things worse for me... T_T

Does it count as insomnia if I actually fall asleep and dream but wake up several times during the night?

I regularly fall asleep between 5 and 7 in the morning lately... May be all the coffee I've been drinking since getting and losing a high-stress job with early hours, and then getting more into FPS gaming in general, Counter-Strike classic (haven't gotten Source yet, gods I'm behind/lazy/broke) and Garry's Mod in specific (though GMod doesn't really count as an FPS, it's on an FPS engine and is first-person and has guns, so I count it)... Generally when I can't sleep I either pop on one of those games, or hop online and hit up my regular sites (here, garrysmod.org, and a few others).

EDIT: Also, @BDD: That's a form of insomnia, unless something actually happening is waking you up.

I just wake up without anything waking me up (I am hearing impaired so without Hearing Aids I can't hear a thing), so yeah I guess it is a type of insomnia. sad.gif

I read Lovecraft until I can't parse his sentences and then it's time to sleep.

And then, the things that exist just two degrees to the left of everything else in the Universe come along for a visit. They peek inside your mind, full of such vivid imagery of things normally incomprehensible to the human mind, and they laugh that you consider such mundane thoughts horrifying.

By can't parse his sentences, I mean he uses some convoluted prose.

Also, my favorite one is "Rats in the Walls", which involves mostly human horror.

It's past 2:30 so I declare this thread officially open

I'm up because I need to make a New Years resolution before the New Year. By not sucking. As much.

I'm going to bed....nope I'm still here. TIME TO BUY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

I haven't slept since 5 PM on New Years eve. It's around 12:30 here, and for some reason I'm still not sleepy.

Well, I don't really have a problem sleeping at night.

Other then the fact that if I sleep I'll be fired.

Hurray....... graveyard shift.
