It does seem like a lot feels attached to the Shadow King for being someone we'd never even really heard of until a few pages ago... which means he's probably someone who already exists, come to think of it.
...that said, oh no! Not... that guy from cocoron! This post has been edited by Cyrus on Aug 29 2011, 06:16 AM -------------------- |

Well, if it is a pre-introduced character, there is this Simone Belmont guy that's been missing for a while...

This is an interesting take. If this is the case, do you think it would have come about as a result of madness from his exile, or is he protecting something?
He is the Shadow King, after all. We know that the story is that King Charles sacrificed his life to get Kevin out of the Mirror World, but we don't know what he did or how it worked. This very well could be the case. --------- Right now, I'm kind of wondering if it isn't actually Monkeyspank. Until this Shadow King guy came about, Monkeyspank's role in everything made no sense to me. He doesn't seem particularly apathetic and thus doesn't seem like an inner evil. As he's planning to lure the Gamemaster to his death under false pretenses and does not appear to be working for the SoS (who needs Alex's kiss to wake up), I always wondered what his game was. He just has always struck me as a rival villain. And if he somehow disappeared, I could see him reappearing in this form to fight the SoS's resurrection. -------------------- |

I can't find where it's stated, but my understanding was that Alex was going to defeat Hypocrisy in Nexus, and that Hypocrisy was the supposed next inner evil. In the comic I've mentioned above, it's at least hinted that Monkeyspank is in charge of the Battle of the Lunarian Moon. So whereas it may not be fully impossible, it seems a bit unlikely unless Alex goes to the Lunarian Moon, has the battle, returns to Nexus, and defeats Hypocrisy before fighting the other two.
Again though, I can't find the source on either of those, so I may be mistaken. -------------------- |

Panel 7. You're welcome. On a related note, Panel 5 of that same comic puts a speed brake on the "SK = Bob" theory. If the SK is Bob, then why is driving a wedge between him and Alex a good thing for the Inner Evils? -------------------- It's a flimsy pretext, but I'm sure that the N-Team have gotten away with worse.

Thank you! A thought on the SK = Bob idea...we don't fully know what they all are doing just yet. We do know that they are trying to kill Alex to keep him from being killed (or worse) by the SoS. But beyond that, we don't really know much about them. Do they work for the SK, or the Princess, or perhaps Videoland itself? Perhaps it's none of the above, and they act independently. If Bob were actually the SK and trying to recruit Alex to fight, it stands to reason that Alex would eventually have to fight the SK's archnemesis: the Sovereign herself. Which goes completely against what the inner evils want. Driving a wedge between the SK and Alex would thus strongly be in their best interests. -------------------- |
