Yeeah, figured Protoman was being a bit too level-headed this whole time. I wonder just how vindictive he's going to be...

Well, if he's anything like Bob & George Protoman, very.

Given he's successfully made Wily so scared of him that Wily doesn't have the nerve to twist his vice presidency to his favor or quit entirely, I'd say a properly riled Protoman might give eldritch abominations nightmares.

Something tells me that the only reason Protoman didn't punch Alex in the face is because he's the only one that can save reality.

Protoman sure is good at coming up with credible threats.

I wonder if he'd be more sympathetic if he knew Alex was in mortal terror of something in the desert. Probably not so much.

But he *does* know. After all, one of the first things Alex and Proto discussed were Alex's adventures in Videoland to this point. That's when Alex told Proto that he wasn't going to save Roll.

Also, nice to know that Proto was pre-Three Laws. Explains a lot.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that Alex didn't actually mention Evil Otto. He just said he wasn't going to go back into the desert. Well, I guess it might have been part of the generic flashback in #696, but the only information we actually have is Protoman confirming that Alex wasn't going back into the desert, and Alex repeating it.

Also, a bit of mystery revealed; #695. Now we know why Protoman's question wasn't rhetorical.

That's the flashback I was referring to. Alex gave Proto a recap of his adventures in Videoland. I assume that Mr. Smiley was mentioned at this time.

Also, I'm still wondering what handicap Proto gave Alex. Could it be the pants? Or did he tip off the guards or something that Alex would be likely to escape soon?

I figured it was keeping the Rocket Knight on his case. Proto said that the average guard isn't all that bright (which would be a good defense against the Touched, likely - those who don't think at all aren't as likely to think too much). But Spark is smart, noble, and honest - exactly the worst type of guard for Alex to be trying to work around.
