DCS II: Semifinals Part II, Ami wins the Alpha League now for Omega!

Okay! It's finally continuing and after years of waiting we're into the Semi-Finals!

- One of the chicks from Alex's old RM2K game, out for vengeance.
Erim
- Sinistral of Death who is veeeery interested in Alex for some reason.
Crono's Mom
- Mother of a guy who will butcher Alex if it doesn't go well. Also, can apparently flip out and kill people with a broom on very little warning.
Luigi
- Obvious.
Flea
- Obvious (trap).

If Alex appears to get something nice out of this, that's probably all it'll be.

Am I the only one that thinks that Alex should have a GOOD date? Something on the romantic side? He could use a break once in awhile.

Yeah, pretty sure you're alone there. Alex dug this hole himself with his Super Scope.

Sailor Mercury is probably the best bet among those left.

I think Alex could use something nice happening to him too.

Personally, I'm fine with Alex getting a nice date. However, I must point out he did get that in the first Date Captain SNES competition (much as he screwed it up toward the end). Something less obviously nice feels about right for variety.

Honestly, nice or not, I think most people will be happy with an interesting date. ^__^ So, good thing there's no shortage of options for those.

I do find it amusing that the two most likely to get him killed are tied, and miles ahead of the others.

Hi all, longtime reader and lurker here, just registered to chip my vote in here. I have to say this was a tough call, so had to examine the contestants individually for... Alex's torment value.

Elayne - After reading through the DCS archives and doing internet searches, I still can't figure out who this girl is supposed to be. It would help if I knew what game she's supposed to be from, but RM2K, Elayne, SNES, and other related search terms turned up nothing, leaving me to wonder who made this girl up and entered her into the tournament. However, she's supposed to be an embittered ingenue (according to the last DCS she was in), so her torment value for Alex is rather low. Next...

Luigi - A bit too obvious... We're going for subtle and/or ironic torment, and Luigi would be outright "Ha ha, ur on a daet wit guy, ur gay nao, haev buttsecks" kind of torment.

Flea - Ranks a bit higher on the ironic torment meter than Luigi, but in my experiences with Flea (CT, CC) he's a bit too open about being a guy. He's passing, but that doesn't help with subtly tormenting Alex if the first time the subject comes up Flea's going to proclaim that he's a guy.

Chrono's Mom - While the idea that Chrono beating Alex to a pulp if he doesn't show Chrono's Mom a good time is amusing, that's really all she has going for her. I can see Alex having an awkward, yet unacceptably pleasant time on this date.

Erim - Sinistral of Death, and for some reason REALLY wants to win this. Can't really tell whether that's good or bad for Alex's torment, but the creepy stalker possessiveness she seems to show toward him puts her at least a notch above any of the other possibilities here.

Point to Erim

She's a bitter former character of JayDee's, whose story never really went anywhere (pre-CSNES project). She blames Alex for stealing her chance at the spotlight.

You're amused that the two most likely to kill Alex are tied for first. I'm more amused that Elayne has fewer votes than either of the guys. Frankly, I think a clever, vindictive master of illusion messing with Alex's mind would be far more interesting than either of the front-runners simply brutalizing him.

It's probably a futile gesture, but I think I'll give her my vote.

I figure a date with Luigi would just be sorta boring from a comic-writing perspective. They'd just hang out and commiserate about how their lives spend most of the time shitting on them.

I decided that, while Flea is fun to imagine, Erim has better comic potential.
