Maybe; I don't know. The thing about the new draft laws that are "passing through Congress in May" probably is, but we really don't have the manpower to keep up military operations all over the place like this... They've been having their existing soldiers run double triple tours of duty already...

Mmhmm...yes, I've heard a lot about the draft laws. Started during the elections by democratic congressmen for the purpose of scaring people with "Draft bill run through Congress during Bush's presidency" they're still floating around today. They won't die for a long time, but last I checked, the only support they actually had were the two congressman that made them.

DEMOCRATS are running the draft bills through just to vote against them and scare the public.

It was a new level of slander for the elections.

and actually if you look at the way it went down, it's pretty freaking hilarious. The democrats wanted the bill in there to discredit the president but none of them wanted to vote on it and none of the republicans wanted to touch it...... yeah

It served its purpose. They weren't trying to actually enstate a draft, they were trying to put the panic of a draft into the people. And that worked. It was quiet terrorism, in the literal definition of the word. They were striking terror to try and serve their purpose.

>_> It's bad enough with people voting by not paying any attention to discussions and debates and just checking the names of everyone in their party.

Neither party actually supports the things they claim to. If they did, I'd probably register as Republican. As it is, I'm independent, and my opinions depend on who's running...

Yup. We need a party that can at least do what it fucking SAYS it'll do.

Therefore, I want the Scandel Party. They'll get into a huge scandel whenever they are elected!

I'd like to join the Apathetic Party. We don't care what the others say or do. We run on our principles.

Wouldn't they just not do anything because it's easier?

I'm part of the F*the power party. I'm generally on the side of the minority, as the majority is invariably corrupt after a couple years of power. The republicans are sinking faster than the democrats ever did, though.

The Dems had 4 years, we (IE the republicans.) had like 20 or so. Look at the list of presidents over the last 50 years.

The Dems had eight, Robo. ANd they actually did quite well, in most respects. They just had quite a few scandals. I actually seem mainly democrat considering my views, due to how I disagree over the way they always act and do things I think I'll go independant, but usualy I'll vote liberal.
edited for more data.

The Republicans have greater control of the media machine, however, so they capitalize on those scandals better.

I want to hear how that works. As far as I've noticed the Libs have control of that.
