Mistfeather slunk out of the warrior's den over the hard packed soil of camp, suppressing a huge yawn as she padded towards the fresh-kill pile. Sunlight streamed onto camp, bouncing off her silver fur till the she-cat's pelt was almost reflective in the late afternoon.
The sun was high in the sky, beating down onto ThunderClan's dense forest. She could here birds calling in the distance, and the salty tang of the lake flooded her nostrils.
She selected an exceptionally plump black bird from the fresh kill pile, biting into it's rich body and savoring it's delicious flavor.

Dawnfrost padded over to Mistfeather, narrowing her eyes as the sun's golden rays beat down upon her. Plucking a mouse from the fresh-kill pile she sat oppsite of the other warrior. "Hi, Mistfeather!" She mewed brightly. "Nice day isn't it?"
Waiting for the she-cat's reply Dawnfrost bent over her selected prey and gulped it down in a couple quick bites.~

Mistfeather nodded, enjoying the sun's warmth as it squeezed in between the hairs of her pelt and touched her bare skin with warm fingertips. She purred in response, closing her eyes luxuriously.
"It is nice," she mewed, opening her eyes, "Do you want to go on patrol or something? It's really nice out here....."
She took another bite of her black bird, enjoying it's rich flavor before turning back to Dawnfrost.

Dawnfrost's ears pricked up eagerily at the prospect of going out on a patrol. Running her paw over her ears, her feathery tail hanging over her front paws, she nodded. "I'll definitely go on a patrol," she meowed, her whiskers trembling. "I haven't been out of camp all day." She dragged out the last words with a flick of her tail tip.
Scanning the grounds she spotted the pale pelt of her sister, Peachspots, sunning on a rock. "Hey, Peachspots!" She called, her sister's eyes snapping over to Dawnfrost. "You wanna go on a patrol!?" Some of her Clan mates glanced at he wearily as she yowled across the camp.
Peachspots nodded and nimbly jumped down from the rock, padding over to the fresh-kill pile; she dipped her head at Mistfeather.~

Mistfeather dipped her fluffy gray head at Peachspots, then her head snapped back at Dawnfrost.
"Hunting or border patrol?" she asked, grooming the backs of her ears as she waited for Dawnfrost's answer, "I really don't mind either."
Mistfeather preferred hunting patrols, but she wouldn't tell that to either of the two she-cats. She would do what was best for the Clan, not what her request was. And even if it wasn't a hunting patrol, Mistfeather would rather go on it than sit in camp all day. She swished her bushy tail, cocking in head in anticipation of the she-cat's answer.

"A hunting patrol would be best."
Danwfrost turned and purred as her mother, Rosestar, padded over to them, dipping her head in turn to all three she-cats. "We're in need of some fresh prey."
Dawnfrost hopped up and down like an excited kit. "Well, it's decided then! We're going hunting!" Without looking back she leaped past Mistfeather and darted out the thorn tunnel.
Rosestar sighed. "You better catch up to her. You never know what Dawnfrost will get herself into. She's like a kit fresh from the nursery."
Peachspots nodded and glanced at Mistfeather. "Are you ready?"~

Mistfeather silently bounced up and down like Dawnfrost, glad that they were hunting opposed to border patrolling. But she wanted to seem dignified in front of the leader, so she dipped her head to Peachspots.
"Yup," she chirped, "Let's go!"
Mistfeather dashed after Dawnfrost, streaking through the thorn tunnel. She winced as the thorns snagged her fluffy gray fur, and she knew that she left the camp with a little less pelt and she hoped. Shaking away the brief pain, she charged after Dawnfrost into the forest, hoping that Peachspots was right behind her.
"Dawnfrost?" she asked, peering into the dense forest's gloom

Mistfeather trembled into camp, her slender legs wobbling in effort to keep her lithe body off the ground. The she-cat looked wildly around till she spotted Streakfur, and dipped her head in recognition. She half padded, half tumbled over to where the deputy stood, and made an effort to compose her figure. Mistfeather didn't want the whole camp knowing of the incident with her in and the tree, so she forced herself to put on a calm face.
"Nice day," she croaked hoarsely, voice barely audible even through the silent camp.

"Great StarClan!" Streakfur exclaimed. "We've got to get help! Dawnfrost! Go get (*medicine cat*)!" Streakfur helped to steady Mistfeather on the ground then urged her to sit down for a moment.
"What happened to you?!?" he meowed, his eyes full of both worry and sorrow.

"I'm okay," Mistfeather murmured, "Or at least, I will be. Don't tell anyone, I don't want the whole camp knowing. I....I got stuck up in Ancient Oak. I'm fine now....just a little woozy.....I need to rest, if that's okay."
Without waiting for Streakfur to reply she wobbled over to the warrior's den, stride uneven. She treaded across the hard camp floor, all she wanted was a long rest in her fluffy nest of springy moss.

"Umm, well, okay. You have shock, and I'll go get some poppy seeds for you if you need them. Be right back, okay?" Streakfur meowed, cautiously picking his words to be careful not to offend the she-cat.

"Uh, okay....." Mistfeather panted on the way to the warriors den, "Just.....please don't tell the camp what happened to me......I don't want everybody knowing. I mean seriously, how many cats get stuck up Ancient Oak? None, as far as I know....."
She sighed aand began to lick her feathery tail in lack of anything better to do. She was so flustered, and her paws burned……Mistfeather had never felt this embarrassed or terrified in her life before.

"You're okay, Mistfeather. That's what's important," Streakfur meowed, licking her ear and hurrying off to the medicine cat's den to get some poppy seed.
