Full Name: Wesley Aeron Darrow

Power: Wesley is the living element of fire (or the Fire Elemental). Using his powers causes Wesley's brown eyes to flicker orange before his skin ignites in flames.
His primary power is the ability to envelop his entire body in fiery plasma without harm to himself, in which form he is able to generate powerful streams and/or 'balls' of fire. He can also manipulate his flame in such a way as to shape it into rings, cages, etc. Even when not engulfed in flame himself, Inferno has the ability to control any fire within his immediate range of vision, causing it to increase or decrease in intensity or to move in a pattern directed by his thoughts. Additionally, he is able to absorb fire/plasma into his body with no detrimental effects (he once absorbed the entire fireball of a nuclear explosion).
By providing thrust behind him with his own flame, Inferno is able to fly in excess of the speed of sound. However, because of his weakened state, he can only fly for short distances of say 10 miles or less. The plasma field immediately surrounding his body is sufficiently hot to vaporize projectiles that approach him, including but not limited to bullets. He does not generally extend this flame-aura beyond a few inches from his skin, so as not to ignite objects (or persons) in proximity to him. Wes refers to his maximum flame output as his "Novae," which is released omnidirectionally and can reach 1,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Flame of any temperature lower than this cannot burn or harm Wesley. This "Novae" effect can occur spontaneously when he absorbs an excessive amount of heat into his body, although he can momentarily suppress the release when necessary with considerable effort. Inferno can also direct beams of "Novae Heat" as an offensive weapon for very brief periods of time before his energy reserves give out.
Wesley has been shown to have a high degree of control over his powers. This control is likely due to the extreme amount of discipline he practices. He has demonstrated enough control that he can hold a person while in his flame form without his passenger feeling the slightest bit of heat. His knowledge extends to general information about fire as well, supported by regular visits to fire safety lectures at various firehouses in Alexandria.
Inferno's ability to ignite himself is limited by the quantity of oxygen in his environment, and his personal flame has been extinguished by sufficient quantities of water, flame retardant foam, and vacuum environments. He can re-ignite instantly once oxygen is returned, with no ill effects. Whenever he is aflame, his voice deepens whenever he is using his powers.

Appearance: Standing at 6'0", Wes' body is muscular and well defined. His brown hair is always kept short and he is never out without it styled in some way. He tries to stay away from hair sprays and gels due to their flammable properties. His eyes are brown and when he uses his abilities, they flicker orange like fire.
Wes dresses in jeans and tee-shirts. Most of the materials he wears are flame retardant since his natural body temperature is much higher than a normal humans. His "costume" is a new form of flame retardant technology that allows him to move freely. The blend of dark blue and black mix together two of his favorite colors for the ultimate costume.
Defining marks: Has a total of 5 tattoos. Only four are visible.

Personality: Wesley is an intelligent, quick-thinking, arrogant young man in his early twenties who loves extreme sports, living on the edge. He is also what you may call a hot head. His temper sometimes will get the best of him and will lead to short outburst of anger. Wesley's abilities are tied to his emotions to an extent requiring much more control. He's a playboy, loves to live life in the fast lane. In other words, he's kind of an adrenaline junkie at times. Wes uses his powers solely to attract attention. He likes attention - so what's more of a spectacle than bursting into fire. His strange ways are only offset by his ability to be a strong leader and team player. He manages to strategize and formulate plans before bringing them into action.
However on the other side of things, Wesley's illness does take the toll on him. He is typically in pain, always feeling the effects of both his illness and the effect of the treatments he undergoes. All this is an on-going thing for him, he has never told anyone about his illness. He has never even mentioned the pain to his parents. If anyone were to confront him on it he would simply deny everything. He doesn't like lying, but is very adept at it falling back on it whenever someone corners him about anything, it has become like a reflex by this point.

History: Wesley Aeron Darrow was born into a normal family. From a young age it was obvious that he a bit eccentric. It seemed that he was always into mischief, giving his parents a heart attack every time he would disappear. Usually they found him at the very end of his stunt - like jumping from the third story balcony. Always the trouble-maker, always the risk-taker.
When Wes turned four, he became very ill. Using the wealth they had, the doctors (the best their money could find) told the Darrow's that Wesley had a rare disease that they had never seen before. They gave him only a year to live. Desperate, Maddox and Isabella began a frantic search for someone who could help them save their son. Finally they found a pediatrician whose daughter died of the very same illness. He had managed to create an experimental gene treatment. With the long list of possible side effects of reconstructing Wesley's DNA, they decided to continue. After three weeks of grueling and painful treatments, signs of Wesley's disease had began to disappear. It seemed that the worries of side effects were for naught as Wes resumed his normal life.
At seven, Wesley's symptoms returned. Forced to undergo another set of painful treatments, Wes' life would never be the same. A fire in the treatment room had bizarre effects. Wesley came out of the treatment as a human fireball, able to control any fire in the vicinity, to command it all will.
Though life was difficult with his new found gift, Wesley managed to make it through high school. While attending college in Alexandria, Wes got word of an apartment building on fire, the flames too hot for the firemen to get out the mother and baby left inside. Summoning his abilities, Wesley fearless walked through the flames and rescued the family. Upon stepping through the threshold, Wesley's eyes flickered bright orange and the flames simply ceased to exist. The fire killed six people and as it turned out was started by an unknown meta-human.
It was that day Wes knew his true calling in life. Calling himself Inferno, he sought out others like himself to fight the evil in the city. Between his duties as a hero and working as a test pilot for Montmayne Engineering, Wesley's illness still rages in his system. He still undergoes treatments to stop the effects of the syndrome from killing him.
