Power: Serania's power is the psionic ability to manipulate flame by shaping it as she desires, increasing or decreasing its heat, intensity, and size. She cannot actually create fire herself.
Sera can psionically manipulate the flame to do whatever she desires, and sometimes induces it to take semi-solid form as an animate flame being (these creations, though capable of movement and of grasping or carrying solid objects, are not alive and do not think or act on their own). The degree of Sera's concentration necessary to manipulate a flame being is directly proportional to the being's size, power, and flame.
Though she cannot be burned by a flame which she is manipulating, Athena can be harmed by any fire that she does not mentally control. It is generally accepted that she must be able to see a flame in order to take control of it (hence limiting her mental influence to approximately 100 meters). Sera can lose control of her flames or "pets" as she calls them if she is distracted or harmed.

Appearance: Serania Michaels stands at roughly 5'4" and is slim. Of Italian decent her skin is highlighted with golden undertones. Her shoulder length black hair and dark eyes make her a somewhat menacing, gothic beauty.
Sera is a well dressed individual. She only wears the finest and most fashionable clothes both in and out of work, preferring to look her best at all costs. She takes great pride in her appearance. Her costume is a metallic red and gold suit with the crest of a golden hawk on the chest and thigh high metallic gold boots.

Personality: If one could describe Sera when she’s making trouble in the city, one could call her seductive and destructive. She is smooth, sensual, calm, collected and heartless. She prides herself on being cold as ice as she methodically steps through the process she needs to go through to get the job done. She works on her own and takes any interruptions of her work very seriously.
Though she is a calm and controlled person, she is just as sadistic as those she watches Jordyn deal with at the asylum. Her obsession though lies in the letting of blood. Like the fire she wields, Sera is hot tempered and quick witted. No unlike most villains, she is strong-willed, stubborn, intelligent and often times, impatient.
Sera can be consider clinically insane and in fact, she probably is. She forms the flames surrounding her as snakes and constantly refers to them as her "pets". She treats them lovingly, talking to them and petting them as if they were living creatures.

History: Sera was normal girl living a normal life. She grew up in a nice middle class suburbanite family-complete with the dog and the cat. It was the perfect life. It wasn't until a house fire that she realized what she could do with a single thought. She had discovered her abilities and was rejected by her family. Her father sent her to therapy at a clinic in Los Angeles. It was then that she realized how cruel life really was.
At first she was treated fairly well. Given the occasional drug or injection but life soon changed when he discovered what she could do. The doctor soon began to use her as a lab rat in his experiments. Driving her literally to insanity with his drugs and constant screaming. Until one day, she snapped. She waited until the right moment and killed him and escaped from the institution. She's never looked back since.
With the help of some influencial people, Sera was recruited to help destroy what is now the Heroes of Alexandria. Receiving her degree in Aerospace engineering, Sera is now the head reasearcher in charge of her "own" weapons development company, Montmayne Engineering. Along the way she met Nimbus, a distraught man with a great deal of power. Sera approached dealing with him like she would any business deal. Now, the duo work together to destroy all that is left in Alexandria.
