Since this board is untouched, we'll start simple:
what music are you listening to RIGHT now? If no music is on, what's the first song that pops into your head? [and if you're like me, remains there on a loop for 4 hours. bet you're happy with me now!] I am listening to Dakota Oak, now Dave Tyack off Twisted Nerve records. It's an "early" start for me (9.30) and needed some light instrumental stuff before breaking out the big guns. Niko x |

I was listening to Cast of Thousands by Elbow on the bus to work this morning, so right now I have "Grace Under Pressure" going through my head.
Cast of Thousands is a lovely album and makes for very good travelling-to-work-on-the-bus music. |

Right now, it's "Meltdown" by Ash on my headphones at work. One of only three records I've put on there at the minute since I got given a crappy replacement computer, but one with a sound card in it. Ash, Royksopp, Mylo... plus a load of Clearlake rarities care of Alick.
On the only other messageboard I frequent with any kind of regularity, this is a pinned topic. I'll do it with this one too.. |

Is Mylo the one of yours I 'borrowed' recently? I couldn't remember what it was.

Indeed so! Was it OK? I remember you said you weren't that mad on Royksopp so it could be touch and go... |

Just into work and listening to Camper van Beethoven live on the 15th January - one of the live shows on archive.org. Also got Procol Harum, Goodbye Mr Mackenzie (remember them?) and Peter Gabriel remixes to keep the day going.

Yesteryear was yesterday. Today it's Fog - Ether Teeth, the new Bright Eyes one and the truly great Matt Sweeney / Bonnie Prince Billy - Superwolf. Don't really care about age / popularity of music, just assume that (message boards apart) if I like it most others won't.

Right now, I'm listening to Mercury Rev's "The Secret Migration" at home and The Fall's "50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong" in my car. I've also been listening to The Delgados "Universal Audio" and Sons and Daughters "Love The Cup" lately.

At the moment, Kings of Convenience, "Riot on an Empty Street". Lovely.
(I do sometimes rock out, just not at the moment.) |

Hey Damian! It's not as magical as "Deserter's Songs" or "All Is Dream", but still a pretty wonderful record. I think a few more plays will release the magic I've come to find in their records. This might sound a bit naff, but I always feel like I'm taken to a different place when I listen to their music. Some kind of strange but beautiful world. I suppose that probably comes from where they record their music. Dave Fridman is a wonderful producer aswell. Someone I would love to see hook up with Clearlake...

Fridman has to be one of the greatest producers of all time. So understated as well, none of the pomp and circumstance behind people like Alan Parsons [and to a lesser extent Nigel Godrich?]. The Soft Bulletin was rightly voted NME's best album of 1999, even if it did beat Shack into 2nd place!
I saw the Rev at Glasto 2002. Very good indeed. Bought the album that summer and listened to it till it fell apart. Niko [now? Belle and Sebastian's "The Loneliness of a Middle Distance Runner"] |

Currently listening to: the sound of my bank balance draining, after buying U2 tickets.
