Breeding first started in G/S/C and has continued since,with new things added,heres all you need to know about breeding Pokemon.
Normal Breeding
You need a male and a female Pokemon and take it to the Daycare.Drop the two desired Pokemon off and after a while they will have an egg.Take the desired Pokemon back in your party,unless you want them to have more eggs,but first you must take the egg the Daycare has or they won't breed until then.Then walk around 1,000 or so steps and your egg(s)will eventually hatch to a level 1 Pokemon,unlike previos games where they were level 5,which is sensable considering there are Pokemon lower than level 5.
Genderless Breeding
To breed genderless Pokemon you must have a Ditto and desired Pokemon.Same as normal breeding you must take them to the Daycare,etc.The only Legends you can breed is Phione,which will hatch as Phione,and Manaphy,which will hatch as Phione.So don't get your hopes up on having a army of Dialgas/Azelfs/Palkias.
Male Breeding
To breed male Pokemon,you must have a Ditto,take it to the Daycare and the Ditto will breed with the male and have a egg of the male Pokemon.
