Cecil's foot stepped out of the village gates, now putting him in open territory. He pointed to a dark area far over the horizon where grim clouds resided. The area, even from this distance, looked haunted with creatures that were none too friendly.

"We're headed this way, Parsley. It may be a long hike, so we'd best start now."

He began the very start of his trek at this point as his combat boots clanked around and the hit of his blade clashed against the metal sidings of his sheathe while he walked. Expecting Parsley to be directly behind him, he figured he could talk at any point and she'd hear. His ears twitched from the gentle breezes brushing around his hair. His eyes stared forth with determination, his hand gripped his sword tightly, prepared for anything that might happen.

He was glad he had a friend to go with at this point. It would've been much less exciting and boring if he had no company, though he was used to it. Most of his many years were spent alone anyway. He turned his head back to check on Parsley, seeing how she was doing.

Parsley was not found behind him. She was now playing around in the air, tumbling around in gusts with her wings buzzing loudly. She noticed him looking behind, quickly landing with a thud right next to him. She threw her arms in the air, flapping her hands,"Tada!" she exclaimed, a big grin covering her entire face. She was the shining symbol and definition of immaturity, of course not hearing a word of what he just said.

"Hahaha. What a clever little locust. Using the gusts of wind for better flight."

"That or just being a child."

Whichever it was, she was able to fly and that was a huge advantage. Should perch in the trees and get a better view of what's up ahead. She was a valuable friend. He decided it'd be best for her to see his abilities as well.

He stopped in his tracks and looked back at her.

"You want to know what's so special about a Kitsune?"

He grinned and waited a moment, but asked it as a rhetorical question. Within the blink of an eye, and a bright flash of light that was gentle on the eyes, he transformed into an agile fox before her very eyes. His two tails twirled and he looked up at her curiously, awaiting her reaction. He wasn't able to speak in this form, but he could still understand it. It didn't drain much energy so he could basically do it all he wanted. It took as much energy as it would to walk 5 steps.

He turned in a circle, his sword clanking as it remained strapped around his slender back and around his chest. He sat down and looked up at her and tilted his head, signaling that he was awaiting a response.

Parsley giggled at the compliment, placing her index finger on her bottom lip,"Me? Clever? Eeheeheehee!" The imp had never recieved a compliment before and took it in high value. As she giggled, she hiccuped loudly, opening up her mouth wide enough to release a locust in her mouth, departing way off into the distance. "Don't get hurt!" she called out to it, perking up to when he spoke about the good things about being a Kitsune. She watched him transform into a fox, a huge smile appearing on her face as she dashed down and picked him up. She hugged him gently, stroking his fur on his back,"Pwahh...you're so pretty...say Cecil, how old are you?"she looked over to him, placing him back down. She stood patiently staring down at him, awaiting a response. She didn't know however, that he couldn't talk in this form.

Cecil looked up and placed is paws over her arm, knowing he was immobilized by the way she was holding him. The only thing he could do was yip at her, trying to tell her that he couldn't speak English in this fox-form. His tails wagged back and forth impatiently as he could not speak, and could not transform while being held or confined that closely.

He struggled a bit but couldn't pry her tight grip as she adored and petted his fox form. He still had the same loner attitude, so this was very awkward for him, since he didn't normally transform in front of others unless in combat for tactical advantage.

His ears perked up and he continued his higher-pitched version of barking. His whiskers were long as he had no way of grooming himself as a fox, only in the ways that an animal does which made him feel primitive. Atleast he was alone most of the time, he could do these things without care.

"Uh..."Parsley hesitated as he continued to bark at her. She couldn't make heads or tails(olawd) of what he was saying to her, but, she knew that they needed to continue on their way. "Well...I'm just going to carry you there. In my Quill case!"she exclaimed, taking it off and assorting the quills off to the side. It was pretty big and she knew he was much more light weight than her bow was, holding the arrows off to the side. "C'mon, flying is faster and you know it," she persuaded him, sticking out her lips as she cooed.

Cecil struggled a bit but knew that flying was faster. He got comfortable in her bag, leaning over to see where they were. His paws rested over the edges of the bag and he rested his head on his paws. Cecil had never actually flown before, but he had been high up. This was his first time actually flying.

He turned back up to look at her to see if she were ready to fly over, because he wished to get through this forest as fast as possible. It wouldn't be wise to resurrect old memories... or creatures. He yipped out once more, signaling his anticipation, but he remembered it might as well be like speaking a Chinese.

Parsley sit the bag around her once more. She lifted up her wings and began to buzz them, eager to reach this forest. She began to lift off the ground, the tips of her feet pushing up against the earth, dirt tracking up. She began to reach more height, smiling,"To the forest~!"she said happily. Zooming off like a horse galloping across these plains, she soared freely in the wind now. Beginning to reach the edge of the forest, she squealed,"We'll stop in the middle, okay!?"

Cecil barked in understanding of what she said. He stood up in her bag, looking down over the forest. It was dark and gloomy, exactly the way he had left it many years ago. Skeletal remains were scattered through the entire forest, except in the center. It was the main dwelling place of the Kitsune Tribe, but was now corrupted. It was the only safe place in the forest many years ago.

His ears flopped downward, remembering harsh memories even through the haze of his alcohol. Unfortunately his emotions were much easier seen as a fox, so he was easily read; like a map. Hopefully Parsley wouldn't look down at him, she seemed like the type to be cuddly with sad little animals.

Her eyes scanned around as the crept farther into the lines of the forest. She spotted just where he didn't want to go, the clearing where his tribe resided. "I'm going to land here,"she snorted, letting her wings down for a few seconds, her curly hair flowing vertically. Near the tree tops, she clicked back up her wings and hovered safely down. Her feet cracked onto a twig, gulping as she looked around. She lifted up her goggles, placing them snuggly back on her head. She looked around, turning her quill case around to face Cecil,"Do you think we should stay here?"

Cecil hopped out of her bag and ran a couple feet away before lighting the entire area around them with a bright light. He adjusted his jacket and brushed his hair from his face while quickly surveying the area. He knew this place by heart, even now. He looked to her and reassured her,

"We're safe here. This was the main grounds of my race. It was cleansed of any evil in it's time, but I don't know how pure it is now. None-the-less, we can safely remain her as long as we like."

He looked around once more, making sure he knew the area, but it rushed back to him the moment he had set foot in the place. His face grew stoic as he made sure to run clear of any emotions. This place was dangerous, he didn't need any creatures sensing fear.

"For your information, Parsley, I am 2,500 years old."

As he spoke, he rested down and sat on the ground. His hands wrapped around his knees as he relaxed.

Parsley felt a release of stress lift off of her back as she bent over a bit, facing towards him. "Oh..."she merely whispered, listening to only a clipping of his tribe's history. She looked around, smiling,"Reminds me of my old forest..."she mumbled, then whipped back around when she heard his age. She was shocked beyond anything, gasping,"My! And...I at least thought you were somewhere near my age..." She looked off to the side, kicking at the dirt a bit.

"In your years, I am equivalent to 19-years-old or so."

He grabbed the canteen he filled back at the bar from his pocket and unscrewed the top. He leaned his head back and took a large swig from the metal container. He only needed something to keep his mouth from getting dry, and he needed to savor his limited supply as it was.

He shoved it back into his pocket and looked at Parsley,

"Don't let my age or heritage intimidate you. If you want to be intimidated, be it from my skills in combat, though I doubt you have anything to fear as you have befriended me."

"Liarrrrrrrr..."she hissed, waltzing back up to his side, watching him drink and giving a disgusted face as Cecil did so. It occurred to her, what would he be like when he was drunk? Annoying, angry, reckless or flirty? Oh lord I only hope annoying. Her face immediately turned into a blank expression as he turned back to her, tilting her head,"Hmm, but who would be afraid of some Kitsunes? I certainly wouldn't...and I'm not...really..."she put her hands on her hips, looking to the side and tilting her head a bit into the air.

"No offense but I needn't lie to you."

He looked around his old homeland and sat in remembrance for a moment. He hadn't been to this place in over one-thousand years, and yet it remained as it's old, gloomy self.

"If you're wondering why this place is so destroyed... there was a plague released upon the tribe. Humans released it into one of our trees as an experiment from a new type of weapon. One that causes massive destruction to whatever it touches. It spread through this forest like a wild-fire, destroying any purity that it once held."

His head rested on the back of his paw-like hands. He looked to the dark ground and sat in silence after telling her another bit of his memory. His tails laid limp upon the dirty ground without so much as a twitch. His eyes closed from fatigue that ravaged his sober mind with clouded thoughts.
