Sandra Bullock is in negotiations to star in "Premonition," playing a housewife whose husband dies in a car crash and is shocked when he appears alive the next day.

The film is set up at TriStar Pictures, a Sony Pictures division that was relaunched last year as a genre label. German filmmaker Mennan Yapo is on board to direct. Shooting is set to begin in January in Louisiana.

Bullock earned critical acclaim for her turn as a high-maintenance housewife in Paul Haggis' indie hit "Crash." Her upcoming films include Alejandro Agresti's "Il Mare," with Keanu Reeves, and Douglas McGrath's ensemble Truman Capote drama "Have You Heard?"
