The admins and mods from FicionZone are now running Freedom of Speech because the original admin quit and needed someone to take over for her.
Personally, I think the new admins are very immature sometimes... though they are doing a good job at getting the site up to scratch, they're personallising the site as their own property and using it as a personal blog... which annoys me. Every time some tiny little thing happens that should stay personal and behind-the-scenes, they all over react and start ranting in the news and updates section of the web site. t_t I think they need to have more un-biast view and act more mature when it comes to dealing with business that should stay their personal lives. Meh. I'm not mod or admin, but as a member of the site it is very annoying to see the admins ranting and raving with one another over one, potty mouthed member they could easily ban and forget about. The link is below should work: Freedom of Speech Fanfiction link! |

Ah, that post was uncalled for.
it was handled in a very immature way, and probably only infuriated many people when they read it. While I can see where she comes from, she could have handled it much more differently. Being blunt is good, but it falls apart when it's obviously meant to intimidate and just makes you look stupid if you continue with it. Not to mention you don't look much better than the one who complained. I'm not going to pretend I actually know what the whole predicament was about, but couldn't she have at least said something along the lines of, "I've received comments that some summaries have disappeared. I'm sorry for the inconvience, but there's nothing I can or care to do about it"? It's blunt, and to the point... though perhaps a bit more. |

I'm not defending Crys-chan, though she has a point. Some people on the FOSff, really don't know when and how to react (some folks really like those obnoxious looking summaries that are stories on their own or have 4 lines and 20 spaces in between)and it's best she's mean and uncouth with them. Sure, it will piss off some folks but it makes a lot more point. Just my opinion.

I think I didn't get my point across very well.... v_v
What I was saying is that Crys-chan, Tsula and a few other admins on Freedom of Speech don't act very professional at running the site. They personalise it. They use the update section on FictionZone almost as a blog, and they're starting to do it on FoSFF. It's annoying. You don't see the admins on Fanfiction.net writing complaints about users on their front page. of course there are going to be disobedient users. Some of them are younger than 10, some are older than the admins themselves, but in retrospect they should keep unattached to personal comments and deal with them without involving the entire site. I don't care if she goes off and rants about it in her blog, or on another site, or somewhere else, but I think what she did was very inappropriate and shows that she herself can't follow the rules of the site. Update section, not 'this person said this about me so I have to tell the whole site' section. Her bluntness is fine. She needs that to be a mond or admin, but personalising every thing that people do on the site? It's stupid and immature. |

I'm not sure if I'm a big fan on fosff or fiction zone. I never used to like ff.net, but it seems to be my only option.
My favourite though is Livejournal. Ah. love. <3 No silly admin crap. Just find a community and post. But seriously now, I totally agree with Domo on the admins at fosff and fiction zone. How old are they, 13? They're acting very immature. Especially the 'screw you'. |

Actually Tsula is in college, Crys-chan is 20 something herself, MikariStar and the old admins are all over 25. Sure the almost-bloggish style in the update section is annoying but you learn to ignore the useless stuff in a while. Making tantrums is fun and it actually shows the rest of the users that who's running the site is also human I guess. You have to admit the "Akedaiou ate this summary. Excessive spaces fill tummy" message was funny. I mean it all depends from which point of view you're looking from. I mean even on Lunaescence, Sally and Jason slip in some things that make some of the news seem bloggish but still it's better to know you can interact with them. Just my opinion.

Yup, though it does kind of hold me back from posting anything. I get rule-breaking complexes very easily and those things grow if I'm afraid that someone might bite my head of. Or if I can't find or understand the rules. (in this case there's both things going on -.-)
I have been part of a forum where admins sometimes did the same. In the end it died because of it. Everyone figured: why the hell is there a tantrum every day? And then they left. ^^; |

MikariStar is only 23, don't make me old! Also I'm a moderator not an admin. ...I found this by googling myself, (great fun you should try googling yourselves sometimes). About the other stuff, I'm not going to get into it and I'm not going to run and complain to anyone about it either, I'll just pretend I didn't read it. I just found this topic while playing around online at 3am and decided to post. ... ..... --MikariStar was here!--- |

You're my sister's age! =D Anyways, you have an opinion. You probably know what's happening on the site more than any of us do. That post that happened before the reform was uncalled for and I won't take my opinion back. I know Tsula has a lot on her mind and Crys-chan has to deal with stupidity day in and day out, but I still stand by my opinion. I simply don't think anyone with that much stress or little time on their hands should be running a site. :/ Albeit a high-demand site that needs bugs and glitches smoothened out. Though she's done real well and I support her work with the reform of the site and her paying for it, I think with her health and interest dwindling it's not fair for the site to simply be left in such a state of flux. There are so many things half-finished with it and it always takes so long for anything to be fixed, and as much hard work as it is, it's taxing on both the users and the admins/mods. Really, not telling anyone about this? :/ I don't get it either way. What I said and what other people said are their opinions and whether or not you tell anyone I really don't mind... though, if any of the admins or mods did get angry, then I guess it proves my point [though I high doubt they would.] |
