The November Challenge!

For the month of November, the challenge is actually a fun one...and inspired by a comment by Alty.

We will be drawing each other! You will choose another member from this forum board, and try to render them in your artistic style. You can go realistic, anime, manga, chibi, DC comic, however.

The point is to try to recreate that member off of what you know about him or her. If you find a person funny, try to depict them in a funny way. You can use just the character, or add a setting or prop, to try to depict a member in the best possible way. You want your picture to convey how you imagine that member to be.

Please make these pictures positive only. This is not your chance to attack some one via art ^_______________________^.

This is how this contest will work:

1. Go over to the The Descriptive Picture Thread, read the rules, and post.

2. Check out who else has posted on the thread.

3. Check out the CLAIM thread, to see who is already claimed. If a person is claimed, you can't draw him or her. You won't be able to post on this thread.

4. PM me, alphabetoes, with the screen name of who you want to draw. First come, first serve basis.

5. I will now put this name on the Claim thread, so no one else can draw this person. This means only claim a person if you are certain you are going to attempt to participate in the contest.

Additional Rules:
1. You WILL be disqualified if you draw a hateful or disrespectful picture of a person. If you are uncertain if a picture will be taken the wrong way, just don't draw it. If you really want to draw something but hesitant about the reaction, get the permission of the person you are drawing by PM'ing him or her.

2. If you drew a person you didn't claim, or drew a person who was already claimed by someone else, your entry will be disqualified.

Date Due: 25 NOV 2007, Last Sunday of the Month.

Date Winner Announced: 28 NOV 2007, Wednesday.

Typical Contest Rules:
1. One drawing per person. It can be any medium. Make it as good as possible!

2. There will be one permanent thread in which you will post your final drawing. Everyone will be posting on this sticky thread. If you don't post on this thread, your drawing wasn't officially submitted.

3. You can open your individual thread on the board for WIPs and tips.

Judging:
1. Judging will be by me and one other forum member.

2. Due to limited people on this forum, there will only be a first place winner, and a honourable mention.

3. You will be judged off of: creativity, effort, and artistic merit, in that order of importance.

Prizes:
1. I am offering either-

First Prize:
a.) a three month subscription to deviantart.com,
or
b.) a detailed drawing from me, alphabetoes, of my depiction of you.

Honourable Mention:
a.) a simple drawing from me, alphabetoes, of my depiction of you.

Your typical disclaimer rules:
1. Keep it clean. (tasteful nudity, decent violence, no sex, no graphic scenes)
2. Keep it nice. (no slurs against any group, individual, etc.)
3. If you violate any of these, you will be removed from this contest.
