Location: Mitabrev, Hylean System
Commander: Warlord Mifon Jourdain (Missing/Presumed Dead)
60th Corps
13th Mitabrev Penal Battalion
Made up of miscreants on Mitabrev, this regiment was primarily made up of conscription dodgers or hardened criminals. While in transit to the Sibrak Plains on Mitabrev, the Battallion killed it's Commissariat guard and surruendered to the Chaos regiment it was supposed to destroy. Since then it has been largely integrated into the 3rd Legion, the regiment it was destined to fight.
3rd Black Regiment
A regiment dedicated to Tzeench, many sorcerors can be found in the ranks, and it is rumored that every man in the regiment has psychic abilites. The Inquisition has studied this denies it, but rumors still abound in Imperial Guard regiments. The regiment prefers to shoot from afar, with it's bizzare powers causing panic in the ranks before they charge in and destroy the confused survivors. As far as organization, the regiment is grouped in platoons ranging from forty to one hundred with no squads.
61st Corps (1st Mixed Forces Regiment)
Before the Harbinger Crusade could stop the enemy at Makanski’s Landing the Archenemy made great strides in his dark campaign of conquest. One such stride occurred on Mitabrev. It was there the 1st Mixed Forces Regiment landed and began to spread the Father’s dominance over the world. Some elements of the 1st MFR have been stopped in Ferrusgrad, Mitabrev’s capitol, where they are locked in a fierce battle of attrition with the Imperial Guard. The rest have surrounded the Grensyev Water Purification Plant though a recent reconnaissance mission failed to positively identify exact units.
The 1st MFR is a logistical nightmare as it contains a polyglot of units from multiple worlds. The history of the 1st MFR is an odd one. Shortly after Sethos Prime was captured in the Bartomelos System the Archenemy began setting up a massive staging area there. Units from across the Father’s domain began to trickle into Sethos Prime. The danger posed by the Harbinger Crusade, however, caused the timetable for the invasion of Mitabrev to be moved up. The army that was supposed to attack Mitabrev, however, had yet to fully form. As such the Archenemy simply gathered the available forces on Sethos Prime and sent them to Mitabrev.
The 1st MF Regiment was originally under the command of Warlord Mifon Jourdain, a prominent Lenissan warlock. Jourdain’s ship, however, was lost in the warp. It has yet to arrive. A precise chain-of-command was never put into place due to the haste with which the operation was prepared. The various unit commanders could not agree on a leader once they landed on Mitabrev. As such each unit tends to do what it wishes and rarely cooperates with its compatriots.
It should be noted that the term ‘regiment’ is not indicative of actual force composition. The 1st MFR is the size of an army. As such there are some regiments inside the 1st MFR.
10th Lenissan ‘Gut-Eaters’ Brigade
The cannibalistic madmen of the 10th Lenissan Brigade have earned quick infamy on Mitabrev after the Rape of Olgiev. During the ten day incident the 10th slaughtered and consumed more than five thousand people. The remainder of the Olgiev citizens are kept as slaves by the 10th. The slaves carry the Gut-Eaters gear and also serve as mobile food stores. These brutal murderers prefer to feast upon the intestines of a victim first. This usually occurs while the victim is still alive. How the Gut-Eaters have not all been laid low by intestinal bacterial diseases is unknown. Though the Gut-Eaters have shown no preference in their worship of the False Gods it is theorized that they must be blessed, at least somewhat, by the God of Decay.
For all their malevolence the 10th are actually somewhat disciplined troopers in combat. They use effective infantry tactics and do not launch suicidal frontal assaults unless there is no other option. Due to this fact, and that the 10th actively recruits amongst the local populace, they have remained effective strength in the face of grinding urban warfare.
12th Lenissan Brigade
The 12th Lenissan Brigade does not have so fearsome a reputation as the Gut-Eaters. They are also not so competent. The 12th regularly launch massed infantry attacks. For this reason the 12th is currently operating at under battalion strength. This has not caused a drop in morale as the 12th willingly give their lives for their evil masters.
7th Mortaerian Thralls Regiment
A mad priestess, known only as ‘Syrianna’, commands the 7th Mortaerian Thralls. It is theorized that Syrianna was once a member of the Great Ecclessiarchy on Mortaeris IV before the Traitor Astartes Judas the Plague seized it. Apparently the faithful of Syrianna’s parish were laid low by Nurgle Rot shortly after the enemy invaded the planet. The rot, however, did not infect the priestess and it is unknown what Judas the Plague did to her while she was in his custody. She obviously went insane from shock/horror and continued to shepherd her flock even when the dead began to rise as zombies.
Syrianna is a most foul heretic, as she currently believes the Lord of Flies is actually an aspect of the God-Emperor. The zombies of the 7th Mortaerian Thralls have proven brutally effective in the close quarters city fighting. The unit, however, is continually destroyed by Imperial forces only to have Syrianna raise new thralls from fresh corpses from recent battles. Syrianna is believed to be the only living being in this unit. It generally fields no fewer than five thousand thralls. When these are destroyed the unit is not heard from again until its strength has been rebuilt.
1st Klarathan Battalion
A particularly large tribe of Klarathans, about five hundred of them, were somehow convinced by the Archenemy to leave their home and fight for the Father. This is unusual for the Klarathans. Even though the primitive savages venerate Khorne they do not heed the Father’s will.
The Klarathans hate ranged weapons and refuse to use them. Even so they have gathered many skulls for the Blood God in Ferrusgrad. The only thing that keeps the 1st Klarathan from being totally wiped out is the fact that the unit withdraws after it has gathered a number of heads to worship Khorne in blood-drinking ceremonies. Even so the battalion has been whittled down to less than a company of savage berserkers.
112th Choq Chasseur Regiment
Though the planet of Kataque has organized the Army Group Les Coure des Mort for use in the Father’s campaign that is not the limit of their forces. For some reason the 112th Choq Chasseur (Infantry) Regiment was dispatched to Mitabrev along with the 1st MFR. Some Imperial analysts have theorized that the 112th was sent by the Kataque military to test the strength of non-Abraxian Guard regiments. Whatever the reason for the appearance of the 112th on Mitabrev it has been one of the more effective units in operation.
The 112th fielded a combat force of four thousand medium infantry and five hundred combat engineers. They have been worn down, however, and are believed to be operating at roughly half that strength. No replacements from Kataq have been forthcoming. They are, however, still well equipped with crew served heavy weapons, mortars, explosives, and maintain at least four battalions of artillery. As per standard Kataque military doctrine the 112th is entirely motorized with plenty of trucks to move the regiment.
Reggio ‘Pain-Death’ Division
The somewhat childishly named Reggio ‘Pain-Death’ formation is made up entirely of mutant abominations from Reggio de Disi in the Lorno Star System. The simplistic name is indicative of the general level of intelligence amongst these mutants. They are not believed to fervently worship the False Gods, but they do despise the Imperium. Also the ‘Pain-Death’ is, surprisingly well armed for mutants. This is mostly due to the fact that the highly advanced technophiles of Porto Lorno have laid claim to Reggio de Disi.
The average ‘Pain-Death’ trooper is big, strong, and brutally stupid. They are usually compared to Ogryns, but they are not quite so massive. They still can easily overpower a normal man. To compensate for the mutant’s belligerent stupidity the Lorno have cyberneticlly modified many of the brutes. This does not make them smarter, but it does allow them much greater accuracy when they use the weapons that are often grafted to their bodies. While this makes for effective troops it does not allow for such troops to be replaced quickly. As such the ‘Pain-Death’ has been whittled down to a little less than four thousand beasts.
19th Bersaglieri Regiment
The fighting of Ferrusgrad has brutalized the once flamboyant Lorno airborne infantrymen known as ‘Bersaglieri’. The now disillusioned troopers fight on with no hope of survival. For all that they are still quite dangerous in battle, as their tenacious nature does not permit them to honorably retreat.
The 19th Bersaglieri are a light infantry unit designed for air assault tactics. They are not equipped for urban combat and have paid the price in blood. They once numbered three thousand men. Currently they maintain only an effective fighting formation of about two thousand.
20th Bersaglieri Regiment
The 20th is in a situation similar to the 19th. Harsh fighting has decimated them to around twenty-three hundred men. The 19th and the 20th are two of the only units that cooperate on any regular basis.
4th Nathos Levy (Division)
When the Father demanded that the ruler of Nathos II provide him with troops the charismatic cult leader acquiesced. The enigmatic Chaos leader, however, appears not to have specified the quality of troops desired. As such the Nathos II military retained the best troops for themselves. The peasant levies that Nathos II has thus provided are far below military standard. Their pathetic training is somewhat compensated by their fanaticism and numbers. There are believed to be some six thousand Nathosians still fighting on Mitabrev, though the levy was originally much larger. Over twelve thousand of the cultists are believed to have died in the bloodbath of Ferrusgrad.
28th G/M Assault Division
The world of Nathos IV is still contested between natives loyal to the Imperium and those loyal to the Archenemy. As of yet the Harbinger Crusade has been unable to provide any succor to those loyalists who continue to hold out. The Father, however, has amply supplied the traitor continents of Glasnok and Mikso with weapons and equipment. As a show of support the Glasnok and Mikso usurpers have committed the 28th G/M Assault Division to the 1st MFR.
The Nathosian troopers are generally well trained and idealistic. They believe that the Father’s coming heralds a new golden age for Abraxis. They mean to spread this dark faith through the barrel of a gun if necessary. The 28th G/M Assault Division is ideal for street fighting as it is amply equipped with heavy weapons, heavy mortar vehicles, flame tanks, and flame-equipped Sentinels. The 28th is also one of the few 1st MFR units to regularly receive replacements from its home world and, as such, has been able to maintain a fighting force of some fourteen thousand men.
40th Gharadun Regiment
The heavy infantry of the 40th Gharadun are men descended from the families that live upon the moons of Gharadun in the Votarus Star System. They are not particularly well trained, but their thick carapace armor and heavy weapons makes up for that. The Gharadun have been responsible for inflicting atrocious casualties on any Imperial formation they face. There are somewhere around a thousand Gharadun fighting in Ferrusgrad.
55th Razak ‘Daemonspawn’ Division
The dreaded infantrymen of Razak have continued their reputation for ferocity and brutality on Mitabrev. The Daemonspawn do not, it should be noted, summon dameons thank the God-Emperor. They do, however, fight like daemons. Their brutal assaults have decimated many fine Guard formations. The 55th should be considered especially dangerous. There are estimated to be nearly thirteen thousand Razak in Ferrusgrad.

XXXVI (36th) Corps
Gryan 31st Infantry (Grensyev Water Purification Plant, MITABREV)
The Gryan 31st is a poor-quality conscript regiment from the factory world of Grya VII. The regiment found itself twelve weeks later on the world of Mitabrev tasked with reinforcing the Grensyev water purification plant held by the forces of the Imperium. The regiment sustained heavy casualties and only fragments of the regiment managed to make their way through to the Imperial troops inside.
5th Loxtan Rifles (Grensyev Water Purification Plant, MITABREV)
The troops of the 5th Loxtan Rifles were conscripted from the brutal and ferocious gangs that inhabit Loxtan's sprawling capital city. The Loxtan have a truly barbaric appearance. They often ritually scar or mutilate themselves as displays of courage. Fights and brawls are common as the men of the regiment determine and enforce their pecking order. Their weapons and equipment are often replaced or supplemented by items appropriated from the enemy. The taking of scalps, ears, fingers and other trophies is common. The Loxtan were transfered to Abraxis and tasked with holding the Grensyev Water Purification Plant. They fight for themselves more than the Emperor, but this only serves to make them more ruthless and violent - an animal backed into a corner is the most dangerous.
19th Morloak Rifles (Ferrusgrad, MITABREV)
A regiment of tough mountain men and lumberjacks from the feudal planet of Morloak, the regiment has been completely misused from the start of the campaign. While the regiment's skill in mountains and extremely dense forest is legendary, it was stationed on the flat plains of Mitabrev, where it was extremely out of place. Then, instead of a Mitabrev PDF as would be a reasonable choice, it was given the impossible chance of securing almost all of the land on the planet of Mitabrev outside of Ferrusgrad. Chaos has not seized this obvious advantage, thankfully, but the regiment has it's hands full trying to hunt down isolated Chaos insurgents over thousands of kilometers. It is doing poorly, however, as they are performing exclusively on foot, with very little transport vehicles. They are however, cooperating with the Navy, which does recon and occasionally is able to transport troops, although it is rare that they are able to land near where the enemy is found.
2nd Rusol "Emerald Roses" Light Infantry (MITABREV)
Rusol is an ideallic world of culture, of beauty. The population is almost entirely made up of artists, thespians, musicians, people of beauty, of creation. Even manual labour is a glorious, aesthetic art form, with each Imperial city being a shining blue picture of glorious perfection, every building a piece of art, the most mundane, daily items flowing with grace and beauty. The one blight on Rusol's perfect surface is a band of territory around the northern tropic, simply referred to, if ever, as the shadowlands. Daily life on Rusol tries to ignore this territory, and the uncultured, violent barbarians that inhabit it, beyond Imperial rule, but every so often, the barbarians attack an Imperial city, and the devastation is so great that massed crusades are formed from people so disgusted by the disrespect and brutal slaughter, that they throw down their tools of creation, and pick up those of the art of war. Bright, heraldric colours differentiate every regiment, and fully demonstrate the pride with which the warriors of Rusol hold in themselves and in their task. The 2nd "Emerald Roses" are lead by a great musician, Colonel Lore Suma, and sport green and crimson colours. They fight as well as any other regiment in the Imperial Guard, and are proud to serve on any battlefield against those who would destroy the art of humanity, guarded by the Immortal Emperor of Mankind.
35th Rusol "St. Boralo's Brigade" Heavy Infantry (MITABREV)
Holding high a banner depicting the founder of one of the greatest cities of Rusol, the 35th wear elegantly crafted carapace armour, and wield weapons crafted with painstaking attention and care. Murals cover every surface of their large pieces of wargear, intricate, yet uniform patterns adorn their armour. The 35th is one of the most highly acclaimed regiments of Rusol, managing to maintain their artistic presentation, while at the same time, being highly effective shock troopers. Often accused of vanity and pride, the 35th have plenty to be vain and proud of, but this never stops them from being fine soldiers of the Imperium.
XXXVII (37th) Corps
43rd Baelsu Marine Infantry (Ferrusgrad, MITABREV)
The Baelsu troopers are working hard out of makeshift boats to resupply troops in Ferrusgrad. Because the city borders a river, the only side that is not surrounded is the river. With the early destruction of bridges in the campaign, they were called in from tactical reserve to fight. The boats they are currently using are a colorful asortment of nailed-together buildings, doors, and plastics.
12th Bavak Guardsmen (Tactical Reserve - Ferrusgrad)
The men of the 12th are comprised of men living in the more rural parts of Bavak. The area they live is horribly crowded and poor, and there is a strong anti-Imperial sentinement . Being made up of conscripts does not help this much, but nevertheless the have been made to believe in the Imperial Creed on the journey from Bavak. They have an above-average number of Commissars and usually fight in platoon-sized detachments.
16th Bavak Heavy Infantry "The Signallers" (MITABREV)
The nickname has nothing to do with the number of vox-units in the Company, but rather with the silencers that are given to all of the men's autoguns. For this reason they are unusually stealthy for a Heavy Infantry company, and rival the Storm Troopers in equipment. Where they fall short, however, is in training, as this regiment was hasily-raised and half-trained. Nevertheless, the NCO's from other Bavak regiments have done a very good job of finishing training the infantry on the six-month journey to Abraxis.
99th Densini Tank-Hunters (Ferrusgrad, MITABREV)
While they had huge sucuesses early on in the Ferrusgrad battles, lately the amount of armor has been reduced to almost zero, and the tank-hunters have been scattered around Ferrusgrad in case of another mass tank attack, so that there will always be something to counter the armored assault.
31st Minervan Tank Legion (MITABREV)
A newer regiment from the factories of Minerva, the 31st has proved itself during a successful action on the Dead Man's Plains while stationed on Skalansburg. It's commander, Major General Kshak, was very relieved, as the legion has lived up to the glorious legend of the 31st's previous foundings. Recently, the regiment has been moved to orbit around Mitabrev, although the amount of tanks is extremely low in comparasion to the number of soldiers currently in the ranks. Many of the soldiers are uneasy about the prospect of fighting a foot battle, and the Commissariat has reported a difficulty keeping the soldiers motivated.
XXXVIII (38th) Corps
773rd Miphan Mechanized Rifles (Ferrusgrad, MITABREV)
Scattered throughout Ferrusgrad, Miphan soldiers are renowned for their intelligence. It is said that a normal trooper could make an officer in any other regiment. The 773rd was originally paired with the 2nd Mitabrev Armour, but their brains could not spare it the same fate as the 2nd. Faced with superior odds on the attack, and urban scenarios in Ferrusgrad, much of the regiment is scattered. They are currently known to be using ambush tactics hiding in half-destroyed buildings before retreating. Brave Chimerae crew have also been reported to have covered their vehicle with rubble and acted as pillboxes, either out of necessity when their treads are destroyed, or out of desperation. The regiment is long-overdue to be relieved, having borne the brunt of the attacks on Ferrusgrad. It has been grouped together with the 3rd Mitabrev PDF.
1st Mitabrev Armor (MITABREV)
Due to a poor vox command, this regiment was sent several kilometers away from the position it was supposed to be holding. Without infantry support, the tanks were overrun and many destroyed. The few survivors retreated and were largely integrated into the 2nd Minervan Armor. Less than four squadrons remain of the once-mighty regiment.
2nd Mitabrev Armour (Ferrusgrad, MITABREV)
At it's founding parade, the 2nd armor was hailed as the beginining of a new era in Mitbrev history. No longer was there only one Mitabrev armored regiment, but two, soon to be three. But Chaos invaded, and the 3rd was never to be. The 2nd was sent to defend the plains on the farmland surrounding Ferrusgrad. During the slow retreat, the tanks were hated by the farmers, for when they showed up, it meant that Chaos was soon to come, and with their heavy flamers they torched hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland. Finally, the chaos attack stalled at Ferrusgrad, where the 2nd also ground to a halt in the thick rubble and narrow streets. Almost all of the regiment has been destroyed or sent to fight as leg infantry, their armor completely abandoned.
37th Raddigan Infantry "The Sentinels" (MITABREV)
The 37th are a relatively new medium infantry regiment, hailing from the forested world of Raddigan in the Hylean System. Decent men with decent training, the 37th make extensive use of the Sentinel Scout Walker, earning the regiment its nickname. The Sentinel, the workhouse of virtually every Imperial Force, is used almost to exclusion in the 37th. They are adept at scouting and locating the enemy and are armed sufficiently to deal with them when they do locate them. They are able to go virtually anywhere an Infantryman can, entering terrain a tank would find treacherous whilst still lending the support of their heavy weapons. The Sentinels are used as armoured support, with lascannons and missile launchers, and as roving hunter-killer units with chainsaw blades and heavy flamers. The sentinels are often fitted with extra armour and other such innovations.
---------
1st Mitabrev Militia "The Minutemen"
Originially a Militia opposing any foriegn presense on Mitabrev, it gave itself the nickname, claiming that any unit could be ready to fight in a minute's notice. Soon, however, the regiment suffered from desertion when many realized that they were not equipped to fight either side. Much of the regiment deserted, but isolated pockets still exist, shooting anyone who doesn't look friendly and allying themselves to anyone who does. Many times, a squad can be won over simply by throwing food or a small bit of gear at them. Reports of snipers in Ferrusgrad are unconfirmed.
