Description: Discussion thread.
Drakkar Windrider - September 26, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
In the OOC threads in Damage Inc, you can discuss how the RP is going, and ask questions that you deem important for the roleplay's flow. If you can't reach me through MSN, you can post your questions here and I'll do my best to answer them.
I might even throw in a joke or two.
BeRzErKeR - September 28, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
Is the young Praetorian mentioned as flagging down the Vostroyan trucks my character, or just a random young soldier? Kind of makes a difference to my post.

HoundofOrion - September 28, 2007 03:21 PM (GMT)
So how would I go about signing up for this? Here or in the RC thread?
Drakkar Windrider - September 28, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
You must create a character in the Roll Call. You ALWAYS do that with all RPs. It is there where your character is given the Ok.
Once validated, you can post in the game thread.
Avenger2099 - September 28, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
I'll get a post up soon, my parents are coming for the weekend and we're going out to eat and the like.
Seraphim - September 29, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
I painted up a picture of my character. Should I put the link to it here or in the character roster section once it's updated?
HoundofOrion - September 29, 2007 07:12 AM (GMT)
Right, excellent. I'll get something written up... fairly soon.... Work permitting.

Well, that's interesting! Post it here, if you want. Or in "The Forge", one of the main sections of DI ("main" as in "appears in the main page").
Seraphim - September 30, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
I'll post it in the forge if I end up doing more... I don't want to start a topic for just one portrait. :) anyway, here's the link: http://vividwings.deviantart.com/art/Natas...androv-66038917

Looking cool! Although I'm not the most indicated to say that. I like cartoony and anime-like drawings better than realistic ones.
Pity you couldn't draw her with a sniper rifle, but the Bolt Pistol still looks good (despite the gun-nut's comments).
Lord Jacobus - September 30, 2007 02:19 PM (GMT)
hmm , it looks awsome, wish i knew how to create art like that ... ah well il stick to just role playing for now, oh and losing the occasional combat patrol mission lol
Seraphim - September 30, 2007 11:52 PM (GMT)
Thanks, both of you! :D
Drakkar: Yeah, I used to do anime. Then I realized that 1. it's easier to make a career out of realistic art and 2. I suck at anime. I mean, really, really suck.
Lord Jacobus - October 1, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
some how, i doubt that you truly suck at it...
Lord Jacobus - October 1, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
by the way, a black cross is the term used by guardsmen for a friendly fire incident as the adminstratum record such inccidents with a Black Cross, obvious enough lol.
Drakkar Windrider - October 1, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Uhhh... I just thought it worthy of pointing out, that the Vostroyans are loaded up with all their baggage. Shovels, cots, replacement uniform, rations, water canteens, socks, extra boots, toothbrush...
You can leave them in the captain's tent.
HoundofOrion - October 3, 2007 07:42 AM (GMT)
Can the Vostroyans speak in Vostroyan dialect? I was just thinking about it. The Vostroyans it seems to me would have their own dialect, while the Praetorians probably speak low gothic or something. Not sure, just very curious.
Drakkar Windrider - October 3, 2007 11:28 AM (GMT)
High Gothic is spoken only by the high authorities. Everyone else speaks low Gothic. And no, I'm not allowing different dialects. That might contribute to Praetorians and Vostroyans isolating themselves rather than try and work with the others.
Drakkar Windrider - October 3, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
OI, YOU RABBLE, START POSTING!
I'm starting to think the Praetorian players are week-enders, or more time limited than the Vostroyans, and that's why they take more to post. Care to confirm or deny so I can adjust my posting schedule?
Avenger2099 - October 3, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
Well, I have class from eh... lets say 7:00 - 3:00 central time. And then I have studying and the like. Also I just don't really know what to do, though I do have a post thought up for today.
BeRzErKeR - October 3, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
I just don't have anyhting to say; waiting for my superior officer to give an order. I don't want to make two posts in a row saying, essentially, "I stand there, being perfectly still."

You do know that you have... what? Seven NPCs to play around with?
Update soon to come.
HoundofOrion - October 4, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
I'm not talking to anyone specifically in my last post.....
Unless someone wants to make it directed at them... :P
HoundofOrion - October 5, 2007 07:58 AM (GMT)
Dictionary.com - Praetorian.
Praetorian is linked to corruption, bieng corruptable. :ph43r:
Drakkar Windrider - October 7, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
Jacobus, the current squad loadout which you have just completed is thus: 1 flamer, 1 sniper rifle, and 1 breaching charge. What the other Vostroyans are armed with, will be up to you I guess, unless you'd rather I keep it "unspecified".
Lord Jacobus - October 7, 2007 03:25 PM (GMT)
well its realy up to you but special wepons squads have 3 special weapons in them so...i just assumed i could have the NPC have a flamer and the rest of the men hade basic infantry weapons .. im sory, i can go back and change my last post iif youd like

No, no, that's precisely what I meant. It's Ok.
Lord Jacobus - October 7, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
oh sory, um id rather have it left unspecified but its realy up to you
HoundofOrion - October 8, 2007 08:17 AM (GMT)
Stop bieng so sorry Jacobus. It's no big deal really.

BAD HOUNDOFORION! VERY, VERY BAD! NO GODMODDING IN THIS GAME! NO GODMODDING!
It's... like... rule number 1. I'm warning you.
Don't say again where other characters go unless they are NPCs. And, very importantly, don't take hits. If I want you to get hit, even if it does crap against you, I will write it myself.
Please, edit your post.
HoundofOrion - October 8, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
What? He said in his post for them to follow him. I was just doing what I was told to do by him, I simply assumed the rest of the squad would do the same. He also stated in his post where he was going, surely by putting it in my post I'm not doing anything wrong? My character followed where they went, I'm not saying where they went.
Lord Jacobus - October 8, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
well... by doing that i think what ..he's getting at is your not leaving the opportunity for them not to follow, they could hunker down and cover him with a sniper rifle, or they could run the other way... not that.. im suggesting that they do that ..would kinda leave me out in the cold, however you could state that the character just assumes their following, also about the rounds hitting you, its up to the GM to decide if anything actualy hits you, as it could cause damage to your armour or person that would affect you later, wich the gm would like to be the one to decide about, so instead of saying they hit you you could just put that ' He rushes forward, ignoring the flury of rounds' or 'he rushes forward, hoping not to be hit by the blizzard of death buzzing through the air. Now please dont get me wrong, i dont want to sound condenscending or rude or bossy or anything, im just trying to help explain to ya, now if this isnt needed you can just ignore it, but for my ego's sake let's not tell me if you did hehe
Avenger2099 - October 8, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
Normally I'd try to be more tactical, but we're right next to the trenches already and out in the open so... welp, charges are fun right?
Lord Jacobus - October 9, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
yes they are fun, until you take a round in the gut and get punched into the earth by it.. other than that its most fun
Drakkar Windrider - October 11, 2007 11:10 AM (GMT)
Modem is busted up, and I´m at my university´s computer, so I can´t do anything for a time. I hope the problem will be solved in a few hours at best, a couple days at worst, so I can get back to killing you.
Brb, sorry for the inconvenience.
Lord Jacobus - October 11, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
You just have to hate it when something like that happens.
Drakkar Windrider - October 12, 2007 10:42 AM (GMT)
Ok, I'm back! Start killing! :)
another_marine - October 13, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
Sorry I haven't posted yet. Work got me on five seven and a half to eight hour shifts per week throughout the school holidays and I have only just started to recover.
HoundofOrion - October 13, 2007 04:04 AM (GMT)
Hopefully no Rocks will fall on me, eh Drakk?
