Historical battles in this area of operations
Company Medic - July 26, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
83rd Gored Infantry
A unit from a world known to produce vertibale hordes of põrly trained, but fanatical enemy infantry. Gored is a Hive World that has fallen under the influence of the Archenemy deep within their strategic area. Interrogation of Gored prisoners has revealed that these units are often recruited by propaganda messages and large food bribes to families. Once in the training camps however, they are heavily indoctrinated.
119th Nayalythan
Unknown unit from an unkonwn source. This is the first time a Nayalythan unit as ever been encountered. Orbital scans indicate this unit to be the same size of a standard medium infantry unit.
5th Razak
An enemy armour unit drawn from a highly militaristic world which has turned over its industrial production to the constuction of countless tanks, artillery pieces and Infantry Fighting Vehicles. These units, when encountered, are always formidable enemies but the presence of the 5th Razak as well as the 10th and 12th Razak south of the spaceport suggest these units are here to rebuild their strength.
Intelligence update
Enemy units 7 km south of the spaceport have been identified mid-afternoon as being seperate to the 5th Razak and are indeed the 7th and 323rd Razak.
Commissar Molotov - July 26, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
Medic, how would you like to run my initial reconnaisance flight? A post in here that'll effect my orders post?
Company Medic - July 26, 2005 12:20 AM (GMT)
Put the plane up, and if its flying to influence a battle I'll factor in the info that it'll gain. The standard default is that information will always be gained. But if its needed by a unit, just specify when the recon takes place and whatever info is gained will passed on to the unit during the phase.
Pvt Vanguard - July 26, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
Expected enemy moves Day 2
Large armour movement south of spaceport. Attack immenent.

Are those 100 SP guns the same thing as artillery? Or what?

5th Razak Estimated Quality - GQ Last known location - Trondton - armour in Trondton; 40 class A, 40 class B vehciles north of Trondton. Estimated numbers - 40 Tanks; 28 APCs; 30 SP guns; 800-1250 infantry/engineers Estimate 800 losses thusfar. |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been hurting their vehicles as well as their men, yes? And don't I own those 30 SP guns now, or doesn't that count as losses?
Pvt Vanguard - July 28, 2005 03:45 AM (GMT)
SP guns are self propelled artillary. Eg. Basilisk.
Yes, you captured some SP guns. I have deemed them to be part of the Army Support Battalion, rather than the 5th Razak. If you wish to operate on the assumption the enemy have no artillary support you are welcome to do so.
Yes, armoured vehicles have been lost. Hence the reduction from 40 APCs to 28 APCs after 12 were reported destroyed in the updates. I do not intend to list every APC, tank, half-track, truck, jeep and go cart you destroy, however, I will keep the estimated number remaining up to date.
Seraphus - July 28, 2005 03:47 AM (GMT)
Heh, fair enough. It was that big 40 that was looking particularly scary, but I can deal.
Thanks for the helpful and continued updates ^_^

Enemy pilots have volunteered the information that Airbase 3 houses at least 4 further fighter squadrons and 2 bomber squadrons and is heavily defended. They are led by a Colonel Almedrava, who apparently flew fighters over Imbolc, two years ago, when 1st Army was defeated. Enemy pilots like to launch dawn raids or raids at evening times the most, and often after much reconnaissance and planning like to launch massive raids with a lot of aircraft at one target or several aircraft targeting several targets.

Captain Lithonius - August 2, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
Can I get a summary of expected resistance at airbase 3?
Pvt Vanguard - August 2, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
Unfortunately our information is rather thin, hence the recent relocation of 777th Section resources.
Expect heavy infantry, well dug in. Limited armour presence expected. Enemy expected to be both high quality and incredibly stubborn.
I will try to acertain further details before the arrival of your forces.
Captain Lithonius - August 2, 2005 06:21 AM (GMT)
Heavy infantry!?!? I thought there were Gored defending the airbase?
Pvt Vanguard - August 3, 2005 02:08 AM (GMT)
The only firm intel on who was defending the airbases was the 119th Nayalythan, who are known to have a lot of infantry but the classification, training on morale of these forces is completely unknown. No Nayalythan unit has been encountered in any previous conflict.
My prediction may be pessimistic but I advise caution.
Pvt Vanguard - August 7, 2005 12:46 AM (GMT)
