I'm sorry for starting a bit late. I had sudden surgery. Im on Oxycodin...which is a rather fun drug. Mind altered states are great for starting rps.
So far, here are our involved characters: (remember its rolling entry so if you want to join, message me and post in the roll call thread) Full backgrounds are available here: http://z4.invisionfree.com/Damage_Incorpor...topic=1185&st=0 Name: Sister Nuriat Age: 16 Height: 5'6" Weight: 100lb Eyes: Light Brown Hair: Dark Red Equipment: sword, Bolter Battle-Sister Maria Dominicia Weapons: Bolter with Sarissa (Bayonet), Bolt Pistol, Combat Blade, Frag Grenades Equipment: Power Armour, Auspex Battle-Sister Alex Covenant Age: 29 Height: 5'10" Weight: 175 lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Jet Black Weapons: Heavy Bolter, Bolt Pistol, Combat Blade frag grenades. Equipment: Power Armour Name: Celestian Sister Andrea Egamentis Age: 43 Height: 5'9" Weight: 140 lbs Eyes: A light olive colour. Name: Sister Malachia Aviz Age: 21 Height: 6’5 Weight: 110lbs Eyes: Brown Hair: Midnight Blue Equipment: Hand Flamer, Bolt Pistol, Combat Knife, Power Armour. Background can be found here: http://z4.invisionfree.com/Damage_Incorpor...?showtopic=1178 this is a spot for asking questions or for discussing things that are not in character A note on gear: The VOX carried by one of your novice can be found here: http://www.olive-drab.com/od_electronics_sincgars_m.php -most likey the C model A note on ammunition: Ammo for rifle type weapons is typically distributed in boxes of ~250 rounds in 5 round stripper clips. We will assume bolt ammunition is similar. Very rarely will ammuntion be kept in an armory inside of magazines. There is no way to tell how many rounds are in there, if they were packed properly, ect. You will always try to retain your mags so that you can fill them later. So it is safe to assume that you have spare mags and that you can fill them. Extra ammo would probley be put in a belt pouch in stripper clip form or made to be carried by the neophytes Ammo for machineguns/heavy bolters is handed out in belts normally. A belt is normally 50 rounds and two belts come in a box. Belts can be linked together to form one big long belt or broken down into smaller belts. A belt is less likely to jam and is more managable as it allows for sustained rates of fire than a magazine. If you want you can attach a box of ammo under the weapon or roll the belts into part of a 200 round drum (this however takes time). A side note...a clip holds ammo in strips...a magazine is what you guys where thinking of. Let me give you some refrences. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magazine_(firearm) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clip_%28ammunition%29 -------------------- What exactly do you mean by interesting?

Pink Bunny, I feel I should comment on your post.
It seems too short to me. It seems to fall in the "action-only" syndrome which sometimes affects posters. A problem derived from movies and comics, often we forget to post the actual thoughts of the characters, and their feelings. And those are important parts of roleplaying in a forum. Just look at your own post. Right there you have quite enough material to elaborate on Nuriat's thoughts. She watches the exchange between Andrea and Juliono. What does she think about them? Does she feel optimistic about the mission? If she is not, does she reinforce herself with a prayer? Is she confident in Andrea's leadership skills? What does she actually know about her? Andrea has a bio in the Roll Call, but how much does Nuriat know of it taking into account the age differences and other factors? And what about the others? And why does she think she was picked for this mission? Does she feel her being a part of the squad ensures victory, or is she doubtful of her own capacities? -------------------- |

it might take a little while to get into the game. It might take some time for the player or character to develop a feel for each other. Give it some time.

ok, well don't stress about it...
you know i was thinking, your character probley became a full sister only a little while ago. If you don't feel like kicking into the politics of the high ranking sisters you can always focus on the two novices. You would know them better than you would know your fellow sisters. Just a thought, let me know what you think. -------------------- What exactly do you mean by interesting?

As to my latest post i assumed that as veteran sisters we would have had ammo on our person if we carried our weapons. I presumed that only the novices would have been refused live ammo.
I'll change it if you really want me to but in my reasoning it seems ok to me. -------------------- "In order to ensure smooth transition of a special request chit, it is best to advice your chain of command verbally before you attempt to order a $47,000 tank....

Actually, Veteran Sister is a specific rank and only one (or two counting Drakk's character) of us is one. The rest of us are just plain Sisters.

I was referring to how the neopphytes were jsut being given distributed ammo... But we are experienced sisters and i assumed that we would have already had ammo...

Pink - what's your chracter feeling? Nervous? Excited? What does she think of the other Sisters, or the blood-stained Celestian giving out gear? It's easy to add a tiny bit more to your posts that'll make yours awesome. -------------------- + D E I + C A S T I G A T O R +

Just to let everyone know incase Rotwulf hasn't told you I'm to take over Molotovs character as he feels he doesn't have enough time and I wanted to join the roleplay. So when I start controlling his character I'm not breaking the rules...honest.

What I think Mol is trying to get at is that you should be saying how your character feels in the post, instead of in here in the OOC thread when asked. It helps others who are reading the RP to get a better understanding of your character in action. You don't have to add every single detail, but just posting exactly what she says and the bare bones of her actions makes things seem a bit bare, if you get what I mean. -------------------- People will always say there are only two sides to the coin, but you must never forget the edge of that coin.

As for the ammo question...
It is not normal for neophytes to be issued weapons in a combat situation let alone live ammo. They have been trained but in normal battles they would be in the rear doing in the rear jobs such as maintance/cleaning/cooking/security guard (who would be issued weapons and ammo) It is very unheard of for neophytes to be placed out on the walls and given guns. It is meant to hint at unspoken desperation. Also, your characters have their typical fighting load or whatever they had on them when they were pulled from the wall. In the MC a fighting load is around 300 rounds of 5.56. 1 mag in rifle, 6 mags in pouches in your 782 gear and the rest in your pack (probley on stripper clips or in extra mags if your lucky) Assuming some light fighting you probley only snapped through 100 rounds at the most. So you would still have ammo left, a good amount. If your character didn't that is a personal choise. I never stated that you had full loads so that is something I will have to remember to do in the future. See, learned something already. As far as ammo goes, i was not going to be counting how many rounds you fire. I was going to keep it for dramatic situations. That being said I should probley keep at least a rough chart. This would force some to run out faster, thereby creating dramatics and the interesting lull moment of redistributing ammo. (trust me...thats a wonderful break and reval moment) Farseer your alright...relax and have fun also those not in the rp welcome and thankyou for your comments. -------------------- What exactly do you mean by interesting?

im gonna say i had ~90 rounds coming into the armory(3 clips, all full), so how much would 2 boxes add to that?
I may count my ammo myself. |
