Hey, hope it's not too late to join this one. It looks very interesting. =]

Name: Victor Blake

General Appearance: Victor is a man who's job is the only thing he takes seriously in life. His features are most often set in an expression of mild curiosity at the mysteries of the universe that he encounters, but when in battle it is replaced by one of cool determination. He is quite skinny for his height and many people underestimate his bulk, due to him having little body fat, but his muscles are solidly toned from extensive training, combat and regular workouts. It is this feature that called for someone to liken him to a kroot at one time. His hair is tied back almost always to prevent it getting in his face during training or actual combat.

Background: Victor was born to the semi-feudal world of Rhime. His original aspirations in life led nothing more than to become a blacksmith like his father, though he trained in fighting as was tradition on his world. The people know of the Imperium in an abstract sense and see the Emperor as their thunder god. They know that occaisionally the Guard would round up some of the locals to fight in the 'great sky battles' as they call them. It was on one of these round-ups that Victor was chosen to join the ranks. During training, they noted his high levels of combat discipline and shipped him off to the Schola, where he was above average in combat exercises but was often punished for minor infractions. In conbat he is a disciplined soldier that follows orders meticulously but, if need be, is not afraid to show any initiative. However, he does have a habit of looting useful things.

General Appearance: Here is an man that was bred out of a planet torn apart by war. He rarely smiles at anything but the best news, and thats hard to come by. His face is usually a mask of calm determination at the task in hand. As is commonplace in his regement, he wears a hearvy, steel grey trench coat in urban camoflage pattern over his armour and always has a rebreather on his person, when in the field, whether he needs it or not. Also, he his never seen without his battered (yet perfectly functional) bolt pistol. His long hair, which is a privilage of being an officer, is always tied back by a black ribbon.

Background: Nathaniel is one of many men who were born into war. He was trained to fight from a young age and, due to the relatively high social status of his family, was also trained in field tactics. When he came of age, his parents bought him a comission in the Moracren Guard, because there was barely any other choice left for him in the world. Most members of other regiments never get to see their homeworld again, but Nathaniel's regiment has seen their homeworld burn and has fought for it iin every battle they have. The large amounts of combat mean only the better of the troopers survive, and this includes officers because all but the highest ranked see brutal combat. It has been many years and many fights since he joined and the strain has shown on his platoon: only two slightly under-strength infantry platoons and his command squad remain. There has been a toll on him aswell, a haunted look can sometimes be seen in his eyes when surveying the wreckage of his once glorious homeworld. Every victory, however, kindles a burning pride in him and his men because though they must fight and fight, they have not yet let their beloved planet slip from their bloodied grasp.
