Idea for 40k the TV show, 9 seasons, just need GW to approve

So my friend and I stamped out an idea for a 40k tv show that would last 9 seasons. Each season is a self contained story that meshes with a 5 season over-plot with a following 4 season over-plot that culminates in a 9 season plot. It features the stars of 40k: the IG, Space Marines, the Inquisition, the Tau, Necrons, Chaos, Orks, and Tyranids. We really just need GW to give it the go, we have lines on some investors and we want to shoot it in New Zealand. I figured I'd post this here and see what kind of reaction I'd get. We would do our damnedest to stay true to the source material and the fluff but reserving the right for creative licensing.

Yes that is a major concern but as my co-writer says; theres nothing that gets an idea approved faster than saying, "I have an idea and I can pay for it."

You've got nine seasons planned out, eh? That's a pretty tall order. But, I guess, if it were popular (and who here wouldn't at least tune in once?), then that could work. But, what would the story be about? 40k is a big universe, even for nine seasons.

That's . . . pretty damn cool. Go for it, man!

"Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.
Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, 'ow's yer soul?"
But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll."

It follows a crusade sometime near the end of M41 on the edge of segmentum ultima. I'm playing this one kind of close to the chest. Don't want my entire plot floating around the internet.

That's understandable. Keep us posted. Hopefully, you'll blaze a trail for the rest of us. Oh, and if you ever set up a donate through paypal, let us know. I'd give at least a 5er just to help it get off the ground.

Just to keep you guys in the loop, we got our first big fat NO from GW today. Thankfully it had loopholes built in. I'm working on exploiting the loopholes. I will keep you informed.

Unfortunately, we seem to have hit a wall at this point. I just got a second message back from GW saying that they would be unwilling to license to us as "this project does not fit with Games Workshop licensing strategy." We'll sit on this project for a while and try again in the near future.

Do keep us informed on how things go.

Uh....how to phrase this....

No! No no no no no HELL NO!

Do you have any idea what the ratings commissions would do to a show like that? Or what marketing creatures would try to twist it into? No. No way. If it aired, it wouldn't be 40K.

Think Verhoeven to "Starship Troopers," but with a lot less respect for the source material.
