BAD HOUNDOFORION! VERY, VERY BAD! NO GODMODDING IN THIS GAME! NO GODMODDING!

It's... like... rule number 1. I'm warning you.

Don't say again where other characters go unless they are NPCs. And, very importantly, don't take hits. If I want you to get hit, even if it does crap against you, I will write it myself.

Please, edit your post.

What? He said in his post for them to follow him. I was just doing what I was told to do by him, I simply assumed the rest of the squad would do the same. He also stated in his post where he was going, surely by putting it in my post I'm not doing anything wrong? My character followed where they went, I'm not saying where they went.

well... by doing that i think what ..he's getting at is your not leaving the opportunity for them not to follow, they could hunker down and cover him with a sniper rifle, or they could run the other way... not that.. im suggesting that they do that ..would kinda leave me out in the cold, however you could state that the character just assumes their following, also about the rounds hitting you, its up to the GM to decide if anything actualy hits you, as it could cause damage to your armour or person that would affect you later, wich the gm would like to be the one to decide about, so instead of saying they hit you you could just put that ' He rushes forward, ignoring the flury of rounds' or 'he rushes forward, hoping not to be hit by the blizzard of death buzzing through the air. Now please dont get me wrong, i dont want to sound condenscending or rude or bossy or anything, im just trying to help explain to ya, now if this isnt needed you can just ignore it, but for my ego's sake let's not tell me if you did hehe

Normally I'd try to be more tactical, but we're right next to the trenches already and out in the open so... welp, charges are fun right?

Hey guys.

Modem is busted up, and I´m at my university´s computer, so I can´t do anything for a time. I hope the problem will be solved in a few hours at best, a couple days at worst, so I can get back to killing you.

Brb, sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry I haven't posted yet. Work got me on five seven and a half to eight hour shifts per week throughout the school holidays and I have only just started to recover.

Seraphim:

QUOTE
God-Modding is when a player supplants the GM's functions by making things happen without the GM's consent or intervention. For example, you CAN say you shoot at the mutant. What you CAN'T say is that you hit the mutant. Results of ANY action involving skill or interaction with NPCs MUST be worked out by the GM. Where stats and dice disappear, the GM steps in.

The GM decides what happens. The player can NOT control the RP. Not only will he/she drive the RP off the balance, but force the GM to take drastic measures to put the RP back into its rightful place.

Please, edit your post so that instead of showing facts, you show intentions.

In DI there are two rules when roleplaying: Write well, and don't god-mod. That's about it. So be aware of them and respect them. Since some of you are recent newcomers, I am giving you a short period of grace, but in the future god-modding will have severe consequences.

If it were me writing that post, Seraph, I would describe what Natasha feels when she sees all the dead in the trench, and starts smelling the stink of the battlefield. Then, her reaction to being attacked, both mental and physical. She might try to use her sniper rifle to hit the spear away with the stock and pull her bayonet out to kill the man, for example. Or she might cover her sergeant by snapping shots at point-blank range into the two enemies.

But if she manages to kill anyone or fight back effectively, that's for me to decide, as the GM of the game. So bear with the rules so I can run the game for all of you as well as I can, Ok?

another, sorry to hear about your inconveniences. But don't worry, as long as you keep posting at least once a week or so, I can keep your character in the game.

Sorry! I'm pretty new at this. happy.gif It's just that from a writing standpoint, the posts sound better if you can complete an action rather than leave everything open-ended. Not good for the RP, I know. Anyway, thanks for the tips, I'll go edit.

I need a bit of advice. I was all ready to tell Gerald to take the big guy while I handle the one with one arm and the sneaky looking one. But he just shot a grenade, at this range that means either they all got dead or knocked down, or none of them did. Thus I have a conundrum, I can't god-mod but I can't go charging at an enemy that just had a grenade fired. I'd like to go help Walpole but if the grenade missed that makes no sense. So should I just suck it up and do what seems best? Or can I write a post containing possibilities, like what Richard would do in either scenario?

I just liked the idea of popping the big guy with a krak grenade... seemed like an interesting way to deal with the problem.

But I'd be willing to change Gerald's action if that would make things easier for the DM/fellow RPers.

No no, your idea makes perfect sense. Something you would do, I just don't want to godmod since we seem to be having a problem with that, but I don't want to make a completely pointless post either.
