The planet Arx, of the scarus sector. What was once a reseach outpost is instead a watchtower, from which the loyal sevants of the empire keep vigil over what is now known as the Arx gap.
One day, the forces of the ruinous powers came, gushing from the eye of terror. An armada of ships, like a thousand rust-red talons, gouting blood-red drop ships to the surface below. Space Marines from the Space Wolves chapter were dispatched as soon as the astropathic choir transmitted the message, and smashed into the planet in time to protect the majority of the population centers, but just as soon they were called away to another battleground. The brunt of the fighting was left to the 12th Stygian regiment, who, arriving days after the space marines had left, bore witness to the major cities of the planet desecrated. Chaos had easily smashed the PDF forces that were left behind by the Space Wolves' call to duty. Massive sigils that blasted away sanity were smeared on the skyscrapers of the city. Temples reduced to warp-tainted rubble, women, children hung from their own intestines, like grisly hangman's nooses, great pits of fused bone and flesh. Chaos had made good use of the time they had been given. The imperial armada arrived and caught the chaos fleet by relative surprise when it finally entered the system. Desperate to make use of what little advantage they had claimed, the imperial commanders made the decision to hot-drop, instead of attempting to secure the surrounding space first, a desperate gamble to prevent the arch-nemesis from digging in further. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Standard biography format. All troopers will be Stygian unless a decent explanation is given why not, Stygies is an agri-world in Segmentum Tempestus Discussion thread is here |

Yep, basic template. You'll all be Stygian (or have a good story about how you were recriuted), but the rest is up to you.

ok how about this, ever read 15 hours? i was thinking something like that, due to a miz up in the adminstratum, a group of Moracren veterans, all that was left of a once proud regiment, were shipped to the wrong local, they each have had years of experience fighting against chaos and some various xenos and are utterly devoted to the Imperial Creed, now, as to what happened to them, there was only about a company left, well more a scratch company, and they were distributed threw out the guard regiments in the imperial forces to provide their skills were needed, such as leadership and the like, my sarge got stuck with your stygian squad to lead it cuz their original leader got executed by a commissar for being berift of a moral compass, and unable to preform his ordered tasks, as well as lacking in the proper belief of the divinely ordained guard command structure lol, hows at?

Name and Rank: Master Warrant Officer Kolia Meert, Formaly of the Candarian 212th Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment
Age: 47 Height: Five Ten Weight: 160 Eyes: cold grey Hair: greying black General Appearance: Kolia is a stocky man who carries himself close, but proudly. He moves with a subtle, but deadly grace. His gear is distributed over his person easily, ammo sitting in the pouches of the tac. vest he wears over his flak armour. He keeps the brim of his patrol cap low over his eyes. His face is rugged, featuring a raged scar down his left cheek. The Imperial eagle is tattoed in black lines on his right forhead, the words Candar Forever, underneath it. Background: Raised on Candar by his mother, Kolia learned to care for himself early in life. His mother worked for the local scholam, teaching arithmetic and english to the children. When he was a teen he fell in with one of the many gangs on Candar. He quickly rose to the top and turned the gang from its original path of drug trafficking and murdering, towards the emperors holy work. Under his leadership, the gang took the name of the Holy Eagles Talon and began a systematic cleansing of the other gangs in the city of Ottava. 6 years later the call came from the adminstratum for the planet to raise 25 new guard regiments to be shipped throughout the segmentum. Kolia was rounded up among many of his fellow ganger's and was assigned to the newly created Candarian 212th. For many years the regiment saw fierce fighting on the outskirts of Imperial space. Serving in many notable engagements against the Tau, orks and the forces of chaos. The regiment was whittled down over the years till only 2 scratch companies off around 300 fierce veterans remained, of a regiment that once numbered in the tens of thousands. The Administratum, in all its infinite wisdom, decided to attach this regiment to the Naval fleet heading to Arx. Once there they divided up the remaining members of the regiment into other regiments, promoting them and divieing out their hard gained experience as well as they could. Kolia himself got stuck with the Stygian's and is now serving as a squad leader and platoon 2IC. He keeps himself aloof, preferring not to make friends with any of them, as he recognizes that most of them probably wont survive the coming days. . . Equipment: Lasrifle with a forest green digital camo pattern, a solid stock, custom lens. 6- 50 round power packs, 1- 2 round hot shot pack, 2 Frag Grenades, Cadian pattern Flak Armour, Patrol cap with the rank of MWO stenclid in dull matt black and his name on the side, also in Forest green digi's. Combat Fatigues, Candarian standerd issue, again, forest green digies. Basic guard equipment, ie med kit, rations, water, all that, and a Combat knife. The forest green digital pattarn is much like this http://www.kamouflage.net/camouflage/en_00007.php its called Canadian Disruptive Pattarn, CADPAT The Rank badge of a Master Warrent Officer in the Candarian guard forces is like follows, The Imperial eagle in all its glory is in the middle, underneath sits the words Moracre, Pro Imperium, on a scroll clutched in its tallons, above the eagle sits a small crown. (I used to use the Olive Drab CF Combat Uniform, and let me tell ya, it was good stuff hehe. Oh, before anyone mentions it, yes this is basicly Canada in the 41st mellenium lol) This post has been edited by Lord Jacobus on Jun 21 2008, 12:49 PM -------------------- Lord Marshell Jacobus

Damn, when I saw the words 'Space Wolves' I got all excited, thinking I could play one.
An idea for that could be one left behind to help get the PDF back into shape, in a Wolfblade-esque way. If that's too long-winded I could just be cannon-fodder like everyone else, heh heh. -------------------- Updates from Morgan's World

Name: Sabbatine Denson
Age: 16 Height: 5’ 1”, on a good day. Weight: 93 lbs Eyes: Gray-green Hair: Orange General Appearance: Redheaded and freckled with dancing gray-green eyes, Sabbatine stands out from the crowd. Her wavy hair is wavy and cut short just below her chin, and bangs hang over her forehead. She’s short, and seems dwarfed by the longlas she uses. She is constantly eating something, and has candy, rations, and other snacks hidden in her pockets at all times. Because of this, she has a lot of energy and constantly fiddles with her gear or whatever happens to be within reach. Letting her near complex or fragile machinery has proven to be a bad plan. She has faint scars from a flogging on her back, and a black aquila tattoo on her right hipbone. Her fatigues are always too big for her. Personality: Generally upbeat and cheerful with a black sense of humor when it comes to her job. She comes off as a little bit psychotic when she cracks jokes in the middle of a firefight, but everyone in the squad as gotten used to this by now. She is genuinely caring, despite all her bad jokes. She had to have respect for authority beaten into her in basic, but it didn’t really stick and the moment she got away from the drill sergeants, she went back to calling her superior officers nicknames, at least when she thinks they aren’t listening. Nothing she’s seen so far has managed to shut her up for long, but that might change with this mission. Background: Though her family were farmers, they lived near enough to a city that they absorbed some of the culture of the more cosmopolitan cities. This made them less superstitious than some of her fellows, though they held to the practice of naming her after a saint as thanks that the previous harvest had been exceptionally fruitful. Her family had a proud tradition of serving in the PDF, and when the Imperial Guard recruiters came to her town, she wanted to join. Unfortunately, she was below the minimum age of seventeen. Always having a rebellious streak, she lied to the recruiter so she could take the marksmanship test they were using to generate interest. She had been a crack shot since she was a child, and figured that her marksmanship would make up for any deficiencies in her age. After out-shooting the recruiter (a regular guardsman, so not that much of a feat), he signed her up. It wasn’t until after he had sent in the paperwork that she told him she was actually fourteen. At that point, the decision was irreversible and there was nothing the befuddled recruiter could do. Her parents were both displeased and proud of her at the same time, and sent their young daughter of to war with a copy of the Emperor’s Word, an aquila pendant, and a stern talking-to about following regulations. Her friends took her into the city to get smashed. Sometime during that night, she was never sure exactly when, she must have gotten an aquila tattoo. She woke up the next morning with a vicious hangover and a black aquila on her right hipbone. Basic training was hard for her, and she ended up getting latrine duty for the entire duration of it due to a humorous song she’d made up about the drill sergeant. She ended basic with the longest list of minor infractions of anyone in the regiment, a reputation for being a bit crazy, and a very strong recommendation for sniper training. The punishments helped her shape up, but she continues to joke around when she thinks she won’t get caught. Equipment: Flak Armor, longlas, hotshot clips, fatigues, basic guard equipment. (She's named after Saint Sabbat. Giving children diminutives of the names of saints is common, according to Gaunt's Ghosts.) -------------------- "Can space marines get drunk?" Oh, probably, but a better question would be "Do you want to be in the same room as a drunk space marine?" I thought not.
