Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, loyal citizens, heretics, xenos scum and daemon-worshippers, any who still frequent this hive of scum and villainy; I'm going to take a stab at reviving this board, just a little. And I am going to do it in grand style.
I am going to run an SRP. An army-level SRP. The game will be quite simple, and run on a very simple and abstract system. It will be both more simple and more abstract than Waaagh! Skaggritz, meaning that I will actually be able to complete it instead of letting it die halfway through. Each player will command three units. Units, representing corps-level formations, will move at set paces on a grid according to unit type, accumulate damage from combat and regain strength through rest and resupply, and fight with bonuses and penalties depending on terrain, leadership, and damage. Each will have a unique leader, who can be killed, fired, replaced, or gain in power and experience through leading successful battles. Updates will be once weekly, with metronomic regularity. The system is already written, story fixed, and units drawn up; the players may play as either Chaos or the Imperium, BUT NOT BOTH. Discuss the matter amongst yourselves, and decide which faction you prefer. The only information I'll give at this point is that the game will concern the Imperial defense of a hive-world. If you choose to play Chaos, you will be dropping from orbit and assaulting enemy territory, with the goal of capturing the planetary defenses and spaceports to allow your ships to take full orbital control before you can be counter-attacked; if Imperial, you will be defending key locations and attempting to hold off the invaders until a relief fleet arrives. I will wait a maximum of THREE WEEKS to gauge interest and activity. If I get two or more players in that time, who will commit to the game, I will run it. If not, I won't; but I will try again later. Furthermore, assuming the players are interested in continuing onwards, I'd be perfectly happy to extend the game into an ongoing campaign, for as long as people wanted to play. I only need two players, and I'll be willing to start. So. . . who wants to rule the galaxy? I'm interested but I do have a couple questions.
1. Do you need both a Chaos and Imperial player, or can you have just Imperial or just Chaos players? 2. What sort of Chaos forces are going to be involved, something like Traitor Guard/Blood Pact, or more like CSMs? -------------------- I have at my command an entire battle group of the Imperial Guard. Fifty regiments, including specialized drop troops, mechanised formations, armoured companies, combat engineers. Over half a million fighting men, thirty thousand tanks and artillery pieces are mine to command. Emperor show mercy to the fool that stands against me, for I shall not.

This will be a one-sided game; both Chaos, or both Imperial. You guys get to decide, it'll work for me either way.

I'm in then. I'd prefer to play as Imperial (as it is what I know best), but if DoLhades wants to play Chaos I can work with it.
