Character Information

Character’s Name: Iolanthe Nox Spenser

Nickname(s): Nox, Spenser, Spense by those really close to her

Age: Looks 17, really is much older.

Year: 12th, Senior

Appearance: Like all undead out in the world, Iolanthe is pale beyond what most mortals consider to be pale. In fact, ghostly is the best word for her white skin tone and frail bodice. Even in life, she was still a very willowy girl. Her height only added to the strangeness of her slim form, for she stands at 5'9" without any help at all, and yet looks to weigh less than someone who is 5'4". Despite being thin, she does have subtle curves in the right places without being "voluptuous".

Her body may be dead and cold, but her cheeks have somehow maintained the rosiness they had on the night she was turned, with a bit of help from make-up of course. Her blue eyes have kept the light they had, though lack the innocence and are now proof of how much she really has changed. Her sandy blonde hair is still the same as it has always been, looking just as it did the night she turned thanks to haircuts.

Her clothing of style is very fashionable for one who grew up when the fashion was long dresses that covered everything no matter what the temperature. It is typical to find her in designer clothing supplied by her sire, with whom she is still in close contact with. She will often add to her height by wearing heels, sometimes strappy and sometimes not.

Celebrity: Mischa Barton

Personality: Ancient beings often lack the innocent kindness of mortal beings, completely aware of human cruelty. Nox is no different. To people who do not know her well, she is cold, cruel, and unforgiving. If anyone can hod grudges, it is Spenser. Despite this, she is kind to those of her own kind and to people who have managed to make her happy. The only people who will rarely, if ever, be subject to her kindness are lycans, or werewolves. Back in her time, their was great discrimination against lycans and so she still holds the same feelings towards them that she always has.

Though still capable of love to other beings, she rarely ever has true feelings towards people. She fell in love once and lost that, and so has tried to rid herself of all attachments through romantic emotions.

History: Ancient times are her beginnings, before the First Crusade when feudalism was raw to the Europeans. Her home was a small manor in what would be northern France, and she was of noble birth. She does not remember much from her childhood, all the way up until she was 17. That is the night she will never forget, the night she was sired. The man was charismatic, charming, and so utterly irresistible that she just could not help but go for a walk in the night with him. After he turned her into a creature of the night, all she remembers is the blind fledgling hunger that was insatiable.

When the Second crusades finally began, she’d been a vampire for nearly 4 centuries and had yet to sire a soul. She’d met others of her own kind, many of whom had barely been vampires for a hundred years. Most of them had been peasants, not noble daughters, and did not have the superiority complex she possessed from that time. However, she still was not drawn into the war.

It was not until the Third crusade that she finally deciding to get involved in anything bigger than herself. In order to hide her vampirism, she suggested traveling by night instead of day, so that they were not under the heat. Also, her enhanced sense of smell allowed her to smell water, and so on the entire way down to the battle, she continued to prove herself quite useful. No one ever found an explanation for it either, some saying she was a witch, and others saying she’d been before.

In the middle of the night, the palace she had been staying in was raided, and she was one of the few women who survived. Some of the soldiers claimed that there were wild wolves, larger than any other they’d ever seen, had attacked, others claimed that it was a trick of the heat. They also noted how when they went to check on dear Iolanthe, she was standing over the corpse of a raider, eyes piercing blue to the point of being supernatural.

Then, almost as easily as she had come, she disappeared into thin air, traveling around under various names and often keeping to herself. She would stay in a town for 2 days and 2 nights only, and often during her stay one or two men would go missing and never be heard from. When the Bubonic Plague hit, Iolanthe grew weaker from lack of people to kill, as she refused to touch a soul that had been affected or knew someone that had.

She made no major reappearance until the late 1800’s, when she got swept into what was called Bohemian revolution in France once more. There, she found a nightclub that offered a nightlife she could not resist. She worked there for many years as a courtesan, and, strangely, many of her clients went missing. For the next century, her hunger just continued to grow and grow. Ever since the plague, when food had been scarce, she’d fed as often as possible, which meant feeding every night. It was as if she was a fledgling again.

Special Ability: Vampire, Day-Walker(Meaning she can walk in the sunlight)

Iolanthe was technically off duty, but to her that was just an excuse for some people to slack off. She was never truly "off duty", but at the moment was not out chasing after one of the royal siblings for once. Even more surprising was that she was wearing an actual pair of jeans, like a normal person did nowadays, instead of her usual elegant clothing. Still, the jeans were so dark they were nearly black, and her top was the familiar bloodred she always wore.

She had always liked the sea, despite being raised away from it. Her first real look at it had been sailing across the Mediterranean, but ever since then it called to her. So, the fact that both she and the princess were here at the exact same time was purely coincidence. Iolanthe wouldn't have even known that she was here if it weren't for the aura she kept picking up. Despite being off duty and not wanting to be bothered with other people right now, she walked over to the princess, walking softly on the sand.

"You know, it's very dangerous to be out alone, milady. Even if you are seemingly alone on a beach." She said from behind her, her arms folded over her chest. Both she and her brother had gained the habit of sneaking away from the Noble Escorts nowadays.
