[James Ailiade]

James walked through the library in the middle of the night. It was another of his favorite haunts, besides the underground labyrinth of tunnels. Looking at the numerous books on the shelves, he smiled slightly. Before becoming a vampire, James had dreamed of becoming a philosopher or a poet of some sort. Some kind of writer; he'd always had a way with words.

Tonight was one of those nights that felt as if it could last forever. Like he could go to sleep (if he ever felt the urge to do something so insane) for twelve hours, and wake up to find it still be night. It was a perfect fantasy for James. Although one crucial part of sleeping was missing. On this night, James was also bent on seduction.

He wandered the shelves almost aimlessly, nonchalantly enough so he wouldn't arouse suspicion if someone surprised him in here, as Shadow had that one night. Well, she hadn't really surprised him. He was more surprised that someone had taken to his usual place, when -- as in the tunnels -- he rarely met anyone at such a late hour.

James finally selected a book -- Dracula, ironically enough -- and situated himself in a large wing-backed armchair. His eyes were pinpricks of light in the pitch black library, racing over the pages as he waited... waited...

[Alana Avalon]

Alana really wasn't sure why she was about at this time of night but she was anyway, the library had recently become one of her favourite places to go as she had a strange fetish for books. Well she was a vampire, so the night- time was the best time to go walking about besides she needed to get away from her dorm, the girls were flipping driving her insane, as most of them were indeed human. Alana was NOT a 18 year old girl instead she was almost 1000 years old in her vamparic age. It just got so irritating to hear about all these little girly things. Alana had a slight urge to murder them in their beds if she had to listen to them chat.

Instead she had driven herself away and into the library for some peace and quiet and hopefully some more meaninful conversation...or maybe some seductive activity. It was what she excelled in best. Okay, so she wasn't as well known as Miss Sabina but she was still pretty damn good. Her eyes were dark with thought as she stepped into the aisles of books, a low eerie hum erupting softly from her lips.

The library was more or less dead. Alana assumed she was the only person in there but she would soon be corrected. Then she felt something. Something powerful. There was a male vampire around here somewhere. Dropping her books she went around the corner and she saw him hidden in the shadows.

Leaning herself agaisnt the bookcase in a kind of "come and get me" position she fixed her dark orbs on the guy.

"Well isn't this a suprise. Dark and handsome i didn't expect to come across this tonight"

James' eyes darted up from the book he was almost halfway through reading. He'd read this countless times in the past few years, it entertained him so much. But he'd recognized the presence of another: a young female vampire. James' fangs glistened.

"Well isn't this a suprise. Dark and handsome; I didn't expect to come across this tonight."

He gazed at the girl leaning against the bookcase and a wicked smirk crossed his face. He closed the book and put it down, then stood up so he towered over her.

"The phrase was always 'tall, dark and handsome' if I am not mistaken," he said. "And nor did I expect to see anyone in a place so dead... so quiet."

He walked closer with the regal, intimidating air of one who always knew what he wanted and got it. "James," he said quietly. "Ailiade."

She was beautiful -- most vampire women were -- and that disappointed him a bit. But her wit, even upon just seeing him, was not lost on him and made up for her seemingly less-than-special looks. She may have to prove herself first, but he knew he'd take her in the end.

Alana didn't move an inch as he stood up, dropping the book he had been reading. He was tall, so she missed that word out but that really didn't matter at all. Her dark eyes fiercely glistened as her approached her a little. Alana was not intimidated by his height, in fact she was admiring him slightly, but she was mostly fascinated by his dark eyes. They were so full of emotion yet they looked ever so dark and dead at the same time. It was just plain strange.

"Yeah well i don't follow tradition.."

Smirking slightly she pulled herself off the bookcase and stood up to her full 5ft7. she would be a little taller if she wore high heels but personally she thought they were a complete waste of time.

"Alana Avalon and it's nice to meet you James"

So he was good looking but that wasn't everything. No, he had to have wit and intelligence and even if she wanted to she wasn't going to give into him like a little mortal girl. No, it was going to take more than beauty to win her over in any way, shape of form.

A rebel... even more interesting. He could see her sizing him up in her head. She was a pretty little thing, but he liked girls with more substance.

"Alana Avalon and it's nice to meet you James."

He couldn't suppress a chuckle. He really had been out of it, and for who knew how long? He could barely keep track as days swept by, let alone years.

"Another gorgeous name that I've come across," he said quietly, almost as if he were thinking aloud.

James' form of seduction had always begun as nearly accidental. He was charming by nature, and one thing led to another and so forth. Things just tended to happen when he was around.
